Baymont by Wyndham Lakeland

The hotel stay was decent but they are going through a major remodel and it is EVERYWHERE. There were boxes everywhere and the third floor just looks rough. The staff was nice enough and the rooms were clean.

The hotel is under renovation but despise That the room in the 3 floor was not remodeled sink broke , also the pool is very dirty and small not in good condition

Could not stay, the room was flooded and the floor was warped from the water standind on the the floor. The pool was out of commission. This place is a dump and should be shut down, sleeping in my car would be like staying at the Ritz-Carlton compared this this hotel.

Absolutely filthy and no working elevator. Smelled like cigarettes throughout building and rooms. Was NOT what was advertised in Expedia.

The entire hotel was under construction. Half the floor from my hall was missing. The elevator didn’t work for 3/7 nights I stayed. Nobody was changing the common area garbage pails. Built up pizza boxes and other food trash left overflowing the cans. NO CURTAINS on the window in my room. It looked like daylight at night. I asked the front desk about the curtains and they told me they could give me a sheet to hang up. Oh and you had to kick the room to get it open bc it would stick. The bed was okay, I think because it was new. I’d like to say the no carpet in my room was a good thing, but it was filthy. Overall, it wasn’t great.

Waited 25 minutes to check in,, no one at the desk, was told she went to take a shower. Finally she came out with her hair up in a towel, I booked thru Expedia then the hotel charged me a high deposit, standing water in the lobby, the place stunk, the room smelled like some bad perfume. Very disappointed I wasted my hard earned money on this.

Under renovating; no ice;

Awful. Apparently in the middle of renovations, which I was unaware of. Floors torn up and walls were mid-paint job.

When we arrived the elevator did not work and they did not have a vacancy on 1st floor. I am 90 yrs old and my sister is 87 and we couldn't climb the stairs so they graciously canceled my reservation.

Nothing worked!! TV went out several times, Refrigerate froze our food, NO HOT WATER (only warm/cool water), Swimming pool: heater did not work, filtering system did not work, and pool was not clean. Also materials for remodeling was stacked all over the place. Room next to us had a dog that barked at night!!! NEVER AGAIN!

The room smell like humidity, and the property look all run down, the sink was clogged, and it was cockroaches in the room. Had to leave early

Room was 2/10 the bathroom had mold all in the ceiling . Towels had hairs on them and the extra TP had poop marks on it. Lastly the room blinds awful bed wasn’t comfortable at all

Walking into the lobby area the staff was sitting at the front desk eating chocolate and strawberries. One of the ladies rolled her eyes grabbed the items off of the counter and disappeared. No greeting or anything. The hallways were trashed and the rooommmm. The tub was filthy, dead roaches, and stuff from the last people who stayed in the room. I am very disappointed and disgusted

The whole building smelled of marijuana. Looked like front desk staff had their kids there, friends, and other NON-employees. Many people around the back of the desk, many not wearing shoes. Went to check into our room, cockroaches on the floor, hallway floors were lifting and glue exposed, door jam was just bare glue floor, hallways in disrepair, sink in room cracked in half, no lightbulbs in lamps, lampshade with burn holes from when there were light bulbs. And again, WHOLE place (which was non smoking) smelled like marijuana. We went to desk to mention the lamps, cockraches, safety concerns and marijuana smell and ask if we could please cancel our reservation. HORRENDOUS, dirty and UNSAFE

There was roaches and lil bugs in the room the lobbys and hallways looked like the hotal needs to be renovated.

Disgusting property. Everything is absolutely dirty, old and broken. We had no towels (I had to walk down to get them) the beds were obviously not changed from previous guests, the carpet smells rotten and even the hallways are disgusting.

We had a 1 night stay here and honestly it’s like people say “you get what you pay for”. As soon as we walked in the lobby smelled like marijuana. They are not serving breakfast even though they advertise it. The rooms were very dirty, rusty, smelly. The rooms smelled like cat pee. I was truly grossed out and didn’t even want to touch anything. I showered with shower shoes on. The towels I was provided had stains on them.

There was nothing I liked about the property. My biggest issues were these 1. The bathroom ceiling and upper walls were covered with black mold. I didn’t notice it my first night there, since I didn’t look up. I told the desk clerk about next morning, and they had a maintenance person clean out all the mold while I was gone during the day. But the room smelled of the cleaning chemicals for the rest of my stay. 2. The weather was cool and I wanted heat in the room. The HVAC system would only produce cool air no matter how high I set the thermostat. I complained about this the next morning and was told it would be fixed that day, but it was not fixed. 3. There were no bedspreads or blankets in the room, and I had a very poor first night’s sleep since a sheet was not nearly warm enough. I complained about that and was given blankets later that day, but I should not have had to demand a blanket. The clerk said that when they put blankets in the rooms, some people steal them. I am an honest 79 year old man and I resent someone assuming I am a thief. 4. Since the bathrooms have common ventilation systems, I’d bet nearly anything that there are other bathrooms in the building with black mold. Do guests have to get sick at your motel in order for staff and management have the gumption to FIX problems like this? I will never stay at a Baymont again, due to the poor management and maintenance I saw here.

Nice area and friendly. Comfortable beds and good air conditioning. Building not maintained, black mold on the ceiling in the shower and the outlet for the refrigerator microwave didn’t work.

The hotel is dirty. Not well kept. The room had black mold in the bathroom. Room 125. I wouldn't go back to this hotel.

Super dirty in the halls, tv never worked. Room smelled weird. No wifi. No closets in the room. The tub was filthy with pubic hairs in the tub and toilet. Luckily I was only staying one night because I would have checked out early.

The property was under construction and even though the finishes in my room were new, the furniture was old and sparce. The window only had vinyl blind on it and it looked like daylight in the middle of the night. I’m sure it will be acceptable when it’s finished but I had no idea it was being renovated when I booked it. I was fully expecting all the amenities listed and only after I arrived I was told there was no breakfast as well. All of this and the rate was still full price. I strongly suggest staying elsewhere until this is complete.

The room was terrible none of the amenities they noted, just a bed 2 side tables a tv and a busted refrigerator

I understand the property was being renovated however with paint all over the floors, room not finished and overall dirty appearance Maude for an uncomfortable stay. Possibly just do one floor at a time and don’t book rooms around customers. I would not have stayed there if I knew the conditions

Noisy, but I was sleeping during the day where most people are up and around. Renovation of hotel was in progress but for the most part my room was comfortable and clean

Staff was friendly, understand renovations happening really needs blackout curtians. Was a nice stay on a budget.

The staff was good. The bed was clean and comfortable.Unfortunately everything else not so much. They are under renovation, we had a room that was newly renovated. Still trying to figure out what was done for renovations. There was no closet area, and NOTHING to hang anything on! There were no curtains only flimsy blinds which let the big street lights shine right into the room. It was like sleeping with the light on. The sink counter had nasty marks on it. There was no fresh fruit for breakfast. No need to keep going, you get the idea. I would not stay there again.

Tv did not work and night staff could not get it to work. Beds did not have blankets and none were in the room.

The tv didn’t work as in it would come on just never could watch what was on all it was doing was buffering. The window could use curtains to block out the outside light. We had to put a blanket up over the window.

The manager and support staff were great, went out of their way to assist with our stay. Place is under renovation, so, a little bit of clutter.

Property was pet friendly. That was nice. My issue is that my father, an older guy, tried to book me an additional night. When working on the computer to book the night, he accidentally booked a night in the wrong week. He immediately called Hotels.com and the Baymont hotel and neither were able or willing to transfer the night over to the proper week. That was a bummer that they would essentially steal my dad's money, when all he was trying to do was help me out by booking a night online.

Gave our room away after it was paid for and we pre-checked in just a couple hours before arrival. The whole place is under construction. Waiting for a refund!!!

When first arrived, a lady sitting at the check in desk stated I would have to have a seat and someone else would come and check us in. I waited 10 minutes. I was then informed that the King room I had reserved and already paid for was not available. I replied "I reserved a King" the answer I got was "so did other people, we are over booked by 19 tonight".. "would I be compensated for lesser" No..Tired from traveling I took the room I believed would be a double. It was 2 twin beds for my self and husband! There were no towels in the room,,There was food out for breakfast and also a hand written sign that stated no one from the hotel would be there until 8am so please only take a little so there would be enough for everyone. There was also a note taped to the check in desk stating the staff had left at midnight and no one would be there until morning. So anyone checking in after midnight couldn't...So no hotel staff on property after midnight. The guest were all on their own for the night!! We had stayed there about 4 years ago and it was very nice.. Must be new owners and it has gone down drastically,,

Staff is always pleasant here. I was still recovering from surgery & needed a good night's sleep in a warm quiet room, and hopefully to sleep in until 10am. I wasn't sure if the rickety, dirty luggage trolley would make it to the room. The second room was as equally disappointing. The counter around the sink was all scratched up like something you'd find thrown in a junk heap The bathtub has cigarette burns, the rim underneath the toilet was black & moldy, the lamp was rusty, outdated so you couldn't plug your phone . No coffee maker, no Kleenex, the fridge was iced over, and froze my food too. The doors do not fit to the floor, so you hear the dog barking at 7 am, a long with the kids left in the room arguing, shortly after u till check out time.. I am still waiting on my $100 deposit to be returned! However, it was quite the contrary! The first room was still.under remodel, so back down to the front desk I went. You could not call the front desk, as there are no phones in the rooms. No breakfast as advertised.

You should be embarrassed to offer this property for a hotel experience. My headboard had nails sticking out of it, we had no hot water, the continental breakfast was not available, the tv did not work, the ac unit was broken and cracked etc the sink was dirty, room 332 and building was dirty. The staff did not care about concerns or making other accommodations, I honestly would like a refund

Arrived to check in. There was no one at the front desk, only a paper to call “Angie” with a number. I called and spoke with Angie and let her know I have arrived and would like to check in. Angie informed me that they are overbooked and I have to call my “third party” and to tell them that hotel is overbooked and they need to find me a room in the vicinity. Angie also stated that they will honor the price already paid and can not charge me anymore fees. That aside, I made connection with Orbitz and received excellent customer service from both Harpreet and Mark. They apologized for the inconvenience and work diligently to locate and Mark booked another another hotel for us.

The property was good, good location. There was a couple of down falls. 1. They were in the middle of a remodel at the time of my stay.(so it kinda had a smell to it). 2. Speaking of smell, I stayed on the second floor and as soon as I got off the elevator to go to my room you could smell other guess smoking cigarettes/ weed. (Even my 7 year old said something about the smell). 3. My daughter wanted to go swimming because they had a pool and the lady at the front said nothing about when the pool closed or if it was even open. Me and my family walked by it and the gate to the pool was open and to me it looked very rundown.

The room was decent tho flooring was noisy and was missing a kickpanel near the ac but the water was hot an lasted an bed was super comfy. the lobby felt like a daycare an guest laudry only had 1 working dryer.hallways an could use a renovation an repair an elevator could use some new paneling an a paintjob . Not what expected by a hotel owned by Wyndham and Maids were very loud when was trying to sleep in as were gathering an chatting outside my door an they woke me up but worked for what needed an that was a getaway with my bf AND time for me to destess without any schedules or obligations after working fairs 3 months an not seeing him Convenience to cracker barrel applebees an 711 within the waking distance so could take him out was nice too

I am assuming that the franchise for "No Tell Motel" and "Ed\'s Beds" was unavailable. The room, hallways and lobby needed maintenance and upkeep. The breakfast was a sad, unfunny joke. (We went next door to Cracker Barrel) No eggs, no biscuits, and only two sausage patties. I would sleep in my car before I stayed here again. I have always had a good experience with Wyndham before this. If the franchise has deteriorated this far, it makes me sad.

Under renovation, new management , bugs everywhere. The staff was nice, but not enough of them. We checked out after 2 nights. Also much too close to interstate. Avoid if possible.

Very convenient location. We like walking around the area and to the Cracker Barrel . The price was good value. The hotel needs updating, remodeling. But it seemed pretty clean

They were remodeling but the property looked old. The staff were polite and efficient. The plus is that it was right behind the WH (Waffle House)

The staff were very nice but the property is in need of a lot of physical improvements. We did feel safe in the area and the bed was comfortable. The hall flooring needs to be replaced as does the bathtub in our room.

A nice family trying to make an old hotel more modern. However, they are not putting their money into the right things in my opinion. An example is the mirror in our room was a smart mirror, but the walls needed to be painted as there were spots that had no paint. Yes it's Florida, however we did get to meet many cockroaches in our room. We could of complained but we just let it be. The bathroom was extremely small and the bathtub/shower was pretty dirty and did not have a stopper for the drain so my fiance had to stuff a washcloth down the drain to take a bath. (She has to clean it herself as it seems housekeeping forgot to??) My fiance grew up in Lakeland so she has a soft spot for the area. It did have great dining options literally next door on either side of the hotel, so that was a plus. Unfortunately though,,until they clean the hotel up, make smart decisions with their renovations, get the Exterminator in the rooms, and paint the walls correctly, we will not be staying here again. I am just giving my opinion. This has an 8.5;rating/10 on hotels.com so some people like this hotel so I urge you to make your own judgements and opinions. On a side note, the family who owns it are very nice so there is that part.

The breakfast is very good. 1. lobby not swept 2. key card has to be programmed every time I enter the room. 3. elevator broken (they did give me a ground floor room) 4. Bed is atrocious, it's old and creaky and has no cushioning at all. I did not sleep well and woke up with back pain. 5. Furniture is old.

This property is undergoing renovations which we were unaware of until we got there. There was no breakfast and the workout room was closed. The floors were dirty and in disrepair in the hall and elevator. Our room had no smoke detector (against the law?), no phone and no hair dryer. We were there 2 days and no one came in to clean the room. We had to get clean towels from the front desk. We were not able to talk to the manager or owner. Also the main lobby smelled like marijuana. We booked under a no refund policy, so unfortunately we were stuck at this hotel. Never again.

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a disaster. It’s handle by the front desk staff. I arrived for breakfast at 9:05 am. There was no one there, neither in the front desk or in the breakfast area. The tables were all dirty. The room in disarray. There was no coffee. Scrambled eggs and potatoes had run out. There was one bagel and two biscuits, and we were lucky that there was still sausage gravy. I went to get apple juice and water came out. Very poorly kept breakfast station. She finally showed up at 9:30 to start removing breakfast. We and another gentleman that had arrived after us requested coffee and she responded “in a minute” and continued to work removing breakfast. At 9;40 I gave up and asked her who was at the front desk because I have seen no one. She said “it’s me, I’ll be there in a few seconds”. Continued to work, no signs of coffee. I finally threw my key on the reception desk and left. I know about shortage of staff and saving money but at least Management shall hire efficient people with customer service experience. The arrival was not a lot different. No one at the front desk for a few minutes.

Was very dirty. TV did not work. No blankets. Two small pillows provided. Breakfast was horrible. Only gave us two clean towels to start with. No wash clothes. Checked out two days early and found a different hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Room was clean, only a sheet on bed but when we requested they brought blankets. Hotel undergoing renovations so the hallways smelled funny the floors were dirty….. breakfast was limited……. No instructions for TV in room….. could not connect to system. A little frustrating.

Noisy guest, played loud music, some weird people were bagging the door at 1:45am. Call the front desk and no one to pickup. Basic breakfast, bread and a toaster. No coffee machine in the room, and pictures in the website are deceiving .

I was not made aware that the property was under construction and there would be no free breakfast there was no deduction for that also there was roaches in the room and in the ice machine.

The room had an odor. Perhaps cigarette or similar. We asked early in the morning for housekeeping to clean the room but they never came. In hotels. Com I was quoted a lower rate but the hotel charged a higher rate. The general areas were dirty. Unsafe unlevel floors. No breatfast was available even though it was advertised that breakfast was included.
