Sleep Inn Ormond Beach - Daytona

Don't listen to the other reviews. The beds are hard as rocks. The battery died in the smoke detector and it took a while for someone to come change it. Mold outside of the refrigerator. Ac is loud and it barely cools off the room. Walls are thin and you can hear everything in the rooms around you. The water pressure is alright and the showers are roomy. The pool is dirty and too warm, not refreshing. The TV has only 1 kids channel. The lights were flickering in the room non-stop. The stairs are disgusting. The doors into the room barely close, a huge safety hazard. Fine for a night, but if you have children that are hard to get to sleep or are grumpy all day the next day when they don't sleep well then I wouldn't recommend staying here The lobby looks better kept than the rooms.

So, I wrote an unfair review,I had two rooms rented and I was the one who was wrong about which of the two was the one who was the first stay.Just I didn’t like the vending machines because I spent money trying to buy something and they don’t work well .So the place is nice

It’s a cheep place to sleep I booked it because it was cheep. Went to see my friends and hardy spent longer that the night in the room. Bed was ok to sleep on. Amenities were ok but could be better. They seemed to be having drain problems because the toilet water was very high. The was a cockroach on the second to last night I was there but at that point I was packing for my flight. Don’t get me wrong, staff were alway polite and helpful but that can’t make a place better. I’m pretty sure house keepers came into my room while was in the shower despite me being told you have to request house keepers the day before. The hotel itself only has a single washer and single dryer for the entire building. After washing my clothes it took me 3 hours until the dryer became free. Which stopped working 15 minutes into me using it. Thank god I was close to my friends to dry my clothes. The breakfast was ok but not much variety with the hot food. Also despite the signs saying no good in rooms, people often took large plates of food. Staff only seemed to stop people they want. No wonder there was cockroaches in the rooms. The smell of weed in the place was overwhelming at times. Like I know it’s legal but it makes the place worse. So yeah, cheep for the bed and room but overall not great. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The room keys stopped working and has to be redone. The room smelled like mold and it was banged up. It was load despit being on the second floor. The elevator is very slow.

Stay was overall ok, king size bed was comfy and everything was pretty clean. Nice clean pool. Continental breakfast was cereal, toast, banana, yogurt, waffle and biscuits and gravy. All was good. Only issue is they gave me room 100 which was 1 foot away from the back door/sidedoor (which beeped everytime someone used there card to open the door) and next to the stairs door. So that’s all I heard the 2 nights I was there. Hotel was very full

This property is in a short walking distance to restaurants such as Applebees, Chili and Denny's. The in house breakfast had sausage and gravy, toast and cereals. The pool was clean and comfortable and the property was well lit. I stayed here because my son football game was being held on a Sunday morning and this location was 10 minutes away, i will def stay again when i come to this area

I think the hotel is okay for the price. Just little things like no remote for tv, advertise washer and dryer yet dryer was broken at my check in and still not repaired 4 days later. When ask about it nobody knows nothing?!?

When I booked I didn't know the pool was emptied and being repaired. We stay only at this hotel when we go to Daytona and paid full price. We stay here because of the POOL! No pool means unhappy customer. Breakfast is poorly done and out of food. The room felt clamey and damp.

Check in was easy with expedia reservation. Room was clean with good a/c. There was a large, clean bathroom. Lighted parking lot. Breakfast was disappointing, a lot of items ran out.

Nothing worked, none of the soda machines works, none of the ice machines worked, bed was hard. People doing drugs in the parking lot. Didn’t feel safe at all.

Noisy air conditioner and mold on the ceiling.

First off the staff was professional and helpful no issues there and I normally dont expect much from hotels off the expressway, the a/c was leaking water into the room and the carpet was wet , so it smelled musty, anything that was metal was rusted from the moisture in there , so this problem is nothing new rust doesn't form overnight,the sheets and towels some were stained and dirty,there was mold, the toilet wasnt flushing properly, first time i see a roach in a room, for 175 dollars a night i feel i got robbed

Overall it was an okay for a 1 night stay. Room had a mildew smell, some fixtures were rusty, and some lack dots on the shower ceiling. The waffles for breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area!

I liked the cleanliness and the quietness.

Was assigned room #311. As soon as I opened the door it smelled very musty, but it is Florida, I thought no big deal. Until I was all unpacked & walked over by the window and my socks just got instantly soaked with water. The A/C unit drained must have been back up. Took 2 whole towels to soak up the water.

Facility needs a complete update. Rooms smelled very bad. Humid and damp inside. Very old and dirty carpet, walls, and beds, doors had animal scratches, holes in walls, very bad smell of mold and humidity, the mattresses are old and uncomfortable, linens had stains, Tv didn’t work, mini fridge was oxidized on the outside. Black dirt like stains on the door trims. Looked like mold, ac unit let out a terrible musty smell. Very noisy, homeless people all around the facility. Breakfast was very disappointing.

nobody at check in at 10Pm had to wait. we called earlier in the day to tell them we would be in at 10. we booked a king bed. when we got there they said did not have a king room got two singles. room smelled like mold. door key cards in hall beep all night. comforters on the bed were not dry. floor was sticky carpet and tile

The hotel itself was extremely dirty and the employees were not friendly at all. The garbage cans were overflowing and the hotel and rooms had a terrible smell. The people next to us were up all night and extremely loud and vulgar. We will never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it.

Our stay was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The beds just ok for comfort. The walls seemed pretty thin. Could easily hear the tv next to us. Overall a good stay but way overpriced because it was bike week.

The bed was utterly worn out. I spring left. I could just see years of 245 lb construction workers wearing it out. The prince was a steep for an older property with skeletal breakfast offerings and a pretty dingy and worn out appearance.

Very dated. Cannot access shower controls to preheat water without entering shower. Safety latch on door inoperative.

Issues with WIFI and cable TV. Noticed that only FOX works well in this Hotel.

Do not stay here. At 12:30am was woken up by someone pounding on my door. They pounded 4 separate times before I finally had to yell at them to stop. I called the front desk and they did nothing. Also the breakfast was a joke, hardly anything. You get what you pay for, never again.

Staff seemed very disorganized. Breakfast was a total joke. I will not be staying here again on my msnt tdips to Daytona Beach.

The internet in my room stopped working and because I am an online university professor I went to the front desk (after calling them and they did not pick up) to see if they could look into that. I was treated extremely rudely -- and CRUDELY. The night manager was throwing the "F" word around at me like crazy and held up her iPhone to say "there is nothing wrong with our internet". I told her that that was apples and oranges as they did not work the same way. She "F\'d" me again over and over, threatening to throw me out and call the police (Which I almost did). I am 70 years old and have never been treated in such a defamatory and rude manner in my lifel I have stayed in Sleep Inns all over the country and have always been pleased. I will never stay at this one again!!! My brother-in-law, Joe Putting, is the head pastor at Tomoka Christian Church which is not far from this facility. I have told him about this and he has indicated he will never recommend the Ormond Sleep Inn ever again because of the treatment I received. I was so upset I left and went and stayed at my sister\'s house and slept on the couch because I was fearful of the people working. Horrible experience!!!

The man who checked us in had no idwa what he was doing. Our card was charged twice, then he gave another guest our same room. She tried to get in luckily we had the deadbot on. Then rain was leaking down the window into the room. We will never stay againhere again

We arrived at 11:30p and when I walked in, there was no one behind the counter. I rang the bell then realized there was a sign that said they had stepped away and to call a number for service. When I called the number, the front desk phone rang. That was worthless considering no one was there. I walked around the breakfast serving area and found no one. I walked in the laundry room to no avail. Finally, a guy walked around the corner and asked if I needed help. I told him I needed to check in. Check in went easily. Later, I came down to inquire about a crib. It went the same as before. No one at the desk and no service. Breakfast was deplorable. Only served 2 cereals and biscuits and gravy. Fruit was empty and couldn’t keep up the milk supply because there were only 2 items offered.

The smell of Pine-sol greeted us when the sliders to the entrance opened. Check in took way too long. There were two people behind the counter but only one checking in. Upon the second time to the check in area I said something to the guy who was ignoring all the customers in line and he said there was only one computer to check people in. He should have said something to begin with instead of ignoring the 6 people standing in line. The first room they gave us, the key didn’t work so I had to go get another one. When we finally opened the door, the room hadn’t been cleaned. The bed was still not changed from the last people. The 2nd room was small & didn’t have sufficient space for our 2 carry on suitcases so I got the ironing board out to set the suitcase on & it was broken. The bathroom was very small w/no counter space. The sink for the restroom was on the outside of the room. The shower floor was painted & the paint was chipped & coming up & the same with the sliding bathroom door. The room had a damp feeling & funny smell. We did not stay. I demanded a refund & we left. I wish I’d taken pictures

The staff was very friendly. We checked in late. They let us check out an hour late. It was very accommodating.

I have only good things to say about this place and their staff! I stayed there while evacuated for Hurricane Milton. The room was really nice with 2 beds, a good sized desk, huge cabinet for clothing, nice shower. They even have a full size washer/dryer on each level. The breakfast consisted of waffles, biscuits & gravy, cereal etc. That was nice. Thankfully they were able to extend my stay for 2 additional days. The front desk staff were very nice. The mattresses were very firm in case you don’t like that. Only 1 elevator and the building is pretty wide so it would’ve been nice to have an elevator at each end. My iPhone charger/block did get stolen tho. I notified the front desk who checked with housekeeping and no one admitted to having it. So that did suck (forgot about that). There are at least 3 restaurants in the same parking area. I’d most definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Hotel was so close to many shopping places and grocery department and Walmart next door. Very clean, redone hotel.

Lot of prostitutes - seriously - how can the staff NOT KNOW what is going on???

Our accommodations were wonderful. This establishment is one of our favorite places as we visit it twice a year. Nearby is a Walmart and a couple of good restaurants and even a few shopping places.

It was very clean and very convenient to everything and minutes from the beach

Convenient food options within a very short walk. A bit seedy at night with congregating ramp and street Beggers.

Great price easy access to and from highway clean quiet free hot breakfast

First and foremost, you walk in to the floor and the smells of drugs were very strong, that i almost went back for a refund a left. The clean up person did not come to the room for new rags nor towels, and did not empty the garbage. People were hanfing around outside of the building, like trying to get in when the patrons walked in. Going to the nearby store, was very dark walking to it. Very unsafe situations with people hanging around.

Very basic, bedding not the cleaniest had stains, lots of smells in lobby, elevator, hallway and room, toilet ran all night. Breakfast was basic no protein , no protein , no fruit . Wouldn’t recommend for other than need a cheap place to sleep

The location was great, but the breakfast was not what it should have been. It was very upsetting , we had to leave and get breakfast somewhere else. They advertised that they would have breakfast. They had A waffle maker and cold cereal. Only NO meat or eggs. They need to spray for roaches

This is an OK place but a couple things noted. carpet in our room needed to be swept. gritty feel when walking barefoot. 6:30 breakfast was late. we wanted to get going but the guy was just starting to put items out at 6:30. No one at front desk when i was trying to report gritty carpet so if anyone from hotel sees this, check out room 116.

Location was great for what we needed. Staff were nice. Hallways had a very sour smell, breakfast was not good and only offered biscuits and gravy and waffles. But was good for the money.

The breakfast was very bad- it seems like the person did not want to put anything out to eat. This was at 8:15am Sunday! There was nothing out to eat, so there was only coffee, juice, and waffles. Very bad.

The power went out and the staff did nothing. The front doors wouldn't open. It took 10 times for the card to open the door to your room. The faucet dripped. The breakfast is horrible and had to tell the front desk there were no coffee cups first thing in the morning. Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel.
