Best Western Plus St. Augustine I-95

the hot tub was not working , we went through 12 door keys due to them not working more than one time. one elevator opened finialy and it was 4 inches lower than the floor. other elevator was not much better.

Pro's Continental breakfast was good. A lot of options for food and they serve hot food. Free onsite parking. Hot tub and pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cons Outdoor pool and hot tub close at 8pm. Our first night there the hot tub was barely warm. We spoke to the evening front desk staff but they didnt know how to operate the hot tub. The next morning we spoke with the front desk staff and they informed us the hot tub was on a timer and they would go turn it on. So lesson learned, ask them to turn it on in the morning if you want to use the hot tub at night. Overall the hotel is a little dirty, but not to the point where we felt super uncomfortable.

Convenient location with easy access to historic areas. Disappointed that the hot tub was not working and it was not indicated on the web site.

The paving around the parking lot was extremely inconvenient and unfortunately a $30 credit back was all I was offered, I was told “we didn’t know either.” I wish they had sent a message via text (like they did before checkin) to warn me, this would have been easier. The facility itself was unfortunately quite run down. My room was clean. I will not book here again, the only entrance and exit was blocked twice during my stay. They are opening another hotel beside BW and there is not enough parking.

Only one elevator working at all times. Night crew not very friendly!

The pool was nice but the hot tub didn't get hot. There also wasn't a limited amount of dining options close by, if you want more options you have to drive at least 20 miles in either direction. Altogether though the stay was very nice and we enjoyed our little get away. Our room was nice and clean and it was pretty quiet.

The room had a smell to it. Only one garbage can in the room Beds very uncomfortable. Breakfast was terrible. Only one waffle maker but had two four slice toasters so long wait. Variety was awful the potatoes were not cooked all the way sausages was soaked in grease made them mushy. I specifically booked this hotel for the hot tub I even called to make sure they had one and that is was working and they said yes. We get there at 4:15 check in and take our things up to the room and then went to dinner. We get back from dinner and get changed for the pool and hot tub. We get down there and there were no lights on and we get in the hot tub and it’s cold. My husband went to the front desk to ask if they could turn the lights on and how to turn the hot tub on for heat. They had told him that they close the pool and hot tub at dark which is 5:30 pm. So the next day we were going to go in the hot tub first before we went out on the town and the hot tub was still cold went to the front desk and they said it’s on a timer that it turns on at 4pm. So that means it’s only on for 1 1/2 hours the whole day. They said they closed it at dark cause it’s Florida’s state law that they need a lifeguard and they didn’t have one which is a lie cause here I am at a different hotel in Florida with no lifeguard and able to swim after dark. Very disappointed in this stay. For $300 for two nights we should be able to enjoy the amenities if they were honest about the hot tub we wouldn’t have stayed

Terrible construction going on around the property making it difficult and inconvenient navigate to the property. There’s also a new hotel under construction literally 100 feet from the hotel making for reduced parking and noise. The building needs a freshening up especially around and in the elevators, which by the way need to be replaced or at minimum serviced. Staff was very good and breakfast is average.

Very clean room, but no wifi in upper floor. Hot hallways and elevator. Many channels were unavailable on tv due to poor signal strength. Door handle fell off first time we attempted to open door from inside; therefore, it was very difficult to open door from inside or outside. Bathroom and bathtub are extremely slippery. Ice machine didn't work. A/C was so loud, we had to use earplugs in order to sleep. Requested shampoo at front desk, but it was never brought to room.

THE ROOM THE SERVICE THE STAFF WERE ALL EXCELLENT. HOWEVER,THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THE HOTTUB WAS NOT WORKING AND HADNT BEEN WORKING FOR SOME TIME ONE OF THE REASONS WE BOOK THIS HOTEL WAS BECAUSE THEY HAD A HOT TUB. I WISH THE WEBSITE HAD NOTIFIED PEOPLE THAT IT WASNT WORKING BEFORE BOOKING. I DO THINK IT IS UNFAIR TO BE CHARGED FOR AMENITIES THAT DO NOT WORK.

TRAVELERS BEWARE - Upon arrival at 8:45 pm we parked in a broke down construction area with abandoned business surrounding the hotel and clearly a rough part of town. We then waited in the lobby and no-one one was there walked around for 15 minutes then began knocking on doors then finally a guy came out and barely spoke or moved and gave us a key and told us don't put the key by anything electronic or it will reset. We got into the elevator and there was sticky liquid all over the ground. Went upstairs and one key didn't work but the second did. Went in the room and the smell in the room was disgusting. Went back down and then got another key then went up and went to sleep since it was late and my family was tired. I lied in bed thinking something was off and concerned. Woke up to my family being covered in bedbugs we took videos. Actual bugs everywhere, showed the videos to the women at the front desk. She was not even slightly concerned or surprised but she was nice and she offered a refund instantly and said sorry and didn't question us at all. When she watched the videos of the bedbugs she acted like bed bugs and filth was a common thing and was so fast to refund us. Scary location, disgustingly dirty hotel, dirty room, no front desk workers present ever. Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Utterly disgusting. No way anyone normal would give this place less than the lowest possible rating. TRAVELERS BEWARE

Great location. Convenient to St. Augustine for shopping and beaches. The carpets in hallways and rooms was extremely dirty and brown where it normally should be grey and ram colored. It was nice to have the convenience of a computer and the buisness center to use as my travel computer quit working and I had documents to send out. The staff was friendly, but the hot breakfast was lacking. The eggs were terrible and we tried all the options available. Hopefully, improvements can be made and then this would be a nice place to stay again.

Hallway carpets and elevators need a good cleaning I liked that hotel is off the highway and quiet

Hotel is not well taken care of carpet in hallway and room is filthy. The place is just ran down.

The room, on the surface, appeared cleaned. After an hour we started to see tiny black bugs throughout thr room and bathroom and to top it off there was a roach on a wall. We checked out in a hurry. Also, the elevator was dirty, in need of a thorough scrubbing, floor and walls. Ketchup was splattered on the wall and floor. Finally, the TV was difficult to maneuver. The receptionist was apologetic and helpful. We will not stay at Best Western again.

The room was spotless! Staff is nice and breakfast was yummy. Will be back.

Very convenient and comfortable stay. However, the rug was extremely sticky all over, could not walk barefoot during my stay. This hotel needs rugs replaced all over.

We booked a 3-night stay, but only stayed 1 night. - The parking area was dark and inadequate. One side of the lot, which was adjacent to a building under construction, was not lit at all. The entry door on that side of the building was out of order, so we had to use our phone flashlights to scan the area as we ran around to the main door to enter the hotel. - One lampshade had mold stains and the ironing board had a raised layer of white mold growing all over it. The room smelled strongly of some kind of sharp disinfectant spray. - The elevators were dirty and had obviously not been swept in a while. We did not enjoy our experience and will not return to or recommend this hotel.

room was okay, clean. AC unit wasn’t blowing cold and the guy at front desk told us it was working just fine. It was hot in the room. Mini fridge didn’t get cold either.

Major Disappointment – Should’ve Stayed at the Usual Spot We stayed two nights at this Best Western after normally choosing the Holiday Inn off I-95 in St. Augustine. We decided to give this place a chance based on slightly better reviews—big mistake. The hot water didn’t work either night we stayed, which was incredibly frustrating. The room door handle was difficult to open, and my wife couldn’t manage it at all. Even the bathroom door was hard to operate. When I brought up the hot water issue to the front desk staff, the response was unhelpful and curt. On top of that, the WiFi password never worked, and breakfast kept running out of food. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. We’ll be going back to the Holiday Inn next time—at least things work there.

The staff there was phenomenal. We booked this hotel because the one we have used in the past was sold out and was pleasantly surprised. While our room was clean, there was mold in the tiles in the shower. The internet was not really stable and while we were trying to facetime with our grandkids, it kept freezing up on us. I would definitely stay there again and would rate it 8.5 out of 10.

Spacious room

Pillows were stuffed to look like throw pillows and were very uncomfortable until we were told they were full size pillows crammed into the pillow cover. Too much construction around the hotel. Location to Historic district was reasonable. Breakfast was good.

The front desk lady was so nice and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean.

No washroom privacy! Sliding barn doors are cute but not for a bathroom particularly when there is a gap between the door and wall. You better be VERY comfortable with your travel companion.

In general, the hotel and the room were very nice. Our complaints all have to do with the bathroom. It might have been an accessible room, I’m not sure, but my comments won’t matter. The door was a sliding door without a handle or knob. It opened easily as much as a child could fit through. After that, it was very difficult to slide. It also did not cover the entire doorway, lacking complete privacy. The shower was just straight walls. There was no place to put shampoo or soap. There also was not any hand rail. If it was an accessible room, especially, it should have had one. When we checked out and we said something to the young lady at the front desk, her reply was that that was the way the hotel was designed, and all the rooms were the same. I said some thing about it looking like it could be redone in the bathroom and she said it was done two years ago. She was not interested in making note to have any changes made in the bathrooms, she just was very excepting of that is the way it is. the comments I’m making are all very simple to correct, and all what I would consider very important. I would not stay there again because of the bathroom.

It was a welcome relief as I started my move to a new community out of FL. I slept wonderfully which is key for me. Front staff was great!

Property old, but the problems ware that it was so dirty. Couldn't pull in to the front drive way, it was taped off. Daniel at the front dest was rude wasnt personal at all He couldnt be found at checkin. I spent 10 min. In the lobby before he appeared. I could go on and on but you get it. I almost forgot the construction horrible. Please do not stay here.

right from the moment we checked in, the staff was extremely friendly. There were no carts left and the receptionist went and located one that we could use. We had an issue with a large group that checked in very late one night and caused some issues. The staff jumped on it and took care of it right away, plus moved us to another floor away from them. They went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable.

I stood at the check in counter for about 5 minutes before Daniel, the front desk clerk showed up. At least that's what he said his name was as he had no name tag on. Daniel was unwelcoming, unfriendly and when inquiring about the credit card fee, he was rude, belittling, and his tone, facial expression, and body language was unprofessional. This was by far the worst check in experience I've ever encountered. I've had better customer sercive at a raunchy crack motel before discovering it was a raunchy crack motel. The room was comfortable. Pool closes at 8 which is VERY INCONVENIENT when that was the highlight of choosing this particular hotel. Not to mention the hot tub was not warm at all. There were bugs crawling all on the walls. The carpets in the hallways were filthy. No pool towels, not enough towels to accommodate the amount of people listed for our stay. Yall need to do so much better on every level. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything went well. The staff was MOST helpful when we had a question. We were allowed to play cards into the night in the breakfast area and met very nice fellow "hotellers". It was quiet and we could be unobtrusive way in back of the breakfast area.

When we arrived to the hotel at our check-in time, it took over 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk and no other staff could be found. When initially going into our room, it was very clean, however, when turning on lamps to get light in the room lightbulbs were missing from our lamps. There was a lot of construction going on around the hotel which made it very hard to get in and caused heavy traffic. There was Very limited seating for the breakfast in the lobby, had to stand and wait for a place to sit.

Excellent stay with my 90 year old dad, who has alot of "extra" needs-electric scooter, needs more room in the bathroom, needs more pilows. Even he said it was perfect! I would definetly stay here again-even without him!! Thank you to the staff!!

When I arrived my room key would not open the room. They changed out the key card and I still couldn’t get into the room. They ended up changing my room to a different one down the hallway. I thought that the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, room was also clean and stocked. The only issue was the broken ice machine kept making noise all night and the door to the stairwell was slamming which would startle me awake it was so loud. Breakfast was nicely stocked and ready on time. Checkout was a breeze. Was decent enough for a night.

The hotel is clean overall. The dark carpeting in the rooms feel dirty and maybe because they are so dark. Otherwise the room and hotel were great. A lot of road construction going on around the hotel, not the hotel's fault. We were able to walk to a couple of local restaurants.

The problem is not the property, the problem is the city, they are working in SR-16 for mor than a year y it is a mess

Price was good and room was very spacious, outside of hotel looked kinda rundown and area seemed unsafe but other than that it was fine

great hotel or a quick stop over. we stayed one night. it is right off the highway with lots of eating options and right near the outlets. would stay again if i needed a place to crash.

Location. If not for construction it would be easier to get to & in out of. Restaurants close by. Outlet Mall too.

We liked the property but construction on road was not easy to navigate.

Good location

The location is good, right off I-95. Close to outlet mall if that’s your thing. Room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was great, much more than waffles and cereal. Fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels or toast. One day canadian bacon and omelets, next day corned beef hash.

The room is quite comfortable and clean. The bathroom is very nice and clean. Breakfast was basic but it was fine; however in the breakfast machine juices and in the coffee machine at breakfast time there were small insects that according to an employee (who spoke to me in a super disrespectful and not at all friendly way) were "just ants" but whatever it is, those bugs should not be near the drinks. I was disappointed by that person's treatment.

Air conditioner just blew hot air. Way too hot in the room and hotel in general. Breakfast was horrific. The orange juice was a brown tinted substance that did not smell taste or look like actual orange juice. The bacon was soggy and raw, the scrambled eggs were hard and dry. Overall this hotel was and is a waste of time and money

Convenient, fair-priced hotel right off 95 and near the outlets. Room was clean and spacious. Nice bathroom. Complimentary breakfast was standard (and good!).

Check in was easy and man at the front was friendly. Clean comfortable room. Breakfast and staff for breakfast not so friendly and lacking in freshness. The milk was sour and i had to go look for a coffee cup as they were out. Otherwise a good place to stay.
