Sleep Inn near Busch Gardens - USF

The hotel was safe and the parking area was well lit. We had absolutely no problems. The room was clean but a little stuff. Staff was exceptional.

It's Florida ~ we were there in the early spring but the AC just couldn't keep up with the humidity. Bathroom is typical FL peeling paint (humidity reminder). The toilet and shower could really use updates. Um, breakfast was microwave frozen sandwiches, cereal and fruit in the tiniest seating area. Pool area was nice. Can handle for a night but if your stay is longer, might want to look elsewhere.

Parking lot was very dirty with garbage scattered over the lot (empty beer cans, McDonalds bag with garbage, etc). Breakfast was limited selections and was divided up on both sides of the lobby. Elevator was very dirty. The first room we check into had blood stains (4 inch area) on the side of the box springs so we were able to move rooms. Staff were nice and the lobby always smelled clean. Definitely needs more breakfast options (no bread for toast, no muffins, no bagels, etc). Computer chair in the room was filthy and stained. Trash was thrown on part of the roof.

The entire hotel smell like cigarette inside, the pool was unsafe because it has some electrical issues, other than that everything else was very nice. customer service staff ,the breakfast lady and the cleaning people very good.

Hotel was prettt nice overall. Could use some updates. Our room smelled very damp and moldy and the tv wasn’t connect to the internet so we couldn’t use it. Pool area definitely needs some TLC. But overall it’s a decent hotel. Very close to Busch Gardens

The hotel needs some updating. Back door near pool does not close and accessible to anyone from outside. The rooms were ok but could use updating same with most of the hotel interior. The breakfast was very basic and not worth considering as an option IMO. The coffee was instant. Staff was very friendly and excellent.

It was clean but the carpet was stained and dirty looking. Vending machines didn’t work

Was close to Busch Gardens and Lowery Zoo. A Bob Evans was steps away. I would not recommend this for a small family with children. The pool was not swimmable. If you have a full itinerary and are only sleeping there it was fine. If you're looking for a relaxing hotel to chill at this is not the one.

Great staff. Hotel is right off the highway. Quiet rooms with indoor corridors.

The room is very clean and comfortable. The beds themselves are so cozy. Has a lovely pool and the staff, all of them are top notch!! Would highly recommend!

The room smelled, and had damp feeling even though I ran the A/C all night. The carpet was stained in multiple places and had not even been vacuumed prior to my arrival. There was mildew on the shower handle/control, and the water was sputtering out of the showerhead - not a steady flow. The toilet was not properly sealed to the floor, so much so that when I sat down to use it, it moved. I took photos if you need the proof. Ironically there were signs around the property saying they were doing renovations...was this room not renovated yet? I can't say for sure but it should not have been rented out in that condition. This hotel room was AWFUL. After I showered, I alerted the front desk about the condition of the room but she said she had 1 room remaining that she would switch me to, but I declined because I was exhausted from moving my son out of his dorm at USF. I feel like I travel frequently enough to know what acceptable standards are and this property fell short. When I checked out I was planning on leaving without saying anything but I stopped and spoke to the AM front desk clerk and asked her to pass the information on to her manager. To be fair, both the PM & AM front desk clerks were very nice. I typically choose Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, etc. when I travel, but I was traveling alone and needed a room for a single night. I have never patronized Choice Hotels before and expect that I will not make that mistake again. Just terrible.

The property was clean. My room were clean, however my comforter was all reaped. One should be aware before completing a room a new arrival guest come in. Also breakfast was not impressive: I think they can do better with the processed food .

Dirty and smelly

Our time spent at this hotel was an experience. We didn’t care to have room service and only requested clean bath linens. The room was outdated and the carpet needed changing out, little to no water pressure in the shower and definitely no hot water.. more of lukewarm water in both the shower and sink. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were flat and should be trashed. And last but not least-ROACHES..-SUGAR ANTS-Baby Spiders.. were found crawling in our room… the roaches were found crawling on the nightstand with the telephone and the sugar ants were found in the bathroom and long table in front of the tv… Will not return to this location

The room was clean. It was quiet and comfortable. The staff was great. Great location to everything that I wanted to visit.

It was noisy and the linens on the bed were stained like they had not been washed. Beds were not comfortable. Bathroom was disgusting with hair everywhere.

We had a family vacation planned for the theme parks so decided to find a cheaper hotel since we would be gone most of the time. This was a mistake. Upon arrival, we noticed the shower floor was dirty, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling and there were various substances splattered on the walls around the room. There was a huge hole in the comforter on one of the beds and the walls were SO thin - we could hear entire conversations downstairs. On top of this all, the free breakfast benefit is basically useless. It is so small and so crowded we skipped it both days because the wait was not worth it. Major renovations are needed. Location to the parks is the only benefit!

There were baby roaches on the night stand and the desk area. There were dried up boogers on the bathroom door. The hallway floors were dirty

Roach infested room. The first room was infested with several roaches. It was late when we returned back to the room. I didnt want to pack an move for 1-2 roaches, but during the nite, I continued to see more. Needless to say I was unable to sleep. The hotel did change our room that morning. The new room was clean and we did not see any roaches in the new room. They also turned out the room in order to address the infestation. The next evening, I could not stay awake however to enjoy my neice's film premier. Other than moving our room, the hotel did not make any offer for our sleepness nite.

The staff here are great and funny. Everyone was so nice. We stayed for a couple of nights to visit family and picked here because of the price point. The room was spotless, but very small for a family of four. I'm sure we could have moved rooms, but the office person said it was an upgrade. The AC is weak, so we had to leave it at 63 to cool down. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it smelled of smoke. The area is good for being close to the interstate and places to eat. We didn't have time to check out the pool or the breakfast. Plenty of well-lit parking. The room is only good for two people and not any more. We will pay a little more to stay somewhere more comfortable, but the staff is the best thing here.

Great value hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just wished the internet on my TV worked so I could watch Netflix or YouTube TV.

The room and hotel overall was very clean, didn’t have to search for parking, and felt safe. The price was good for two nights and despite the below “issues”.. I’d stay again if needed. I didn’t like how small the breakfast area is, the choices were limited (please consider adding bread for toast and cereal!!), there was no “store” to purchase snacks, drinks, or other items like many other hotels.. and it was noisy.. you could hear anything outside of your room or walking through the hallway you could hear what’s going on in someone else’s room.

Invest in some new mattress please bed was so uncomfortable.

Just one bed was not good.It was a big, dent in middle and did not sleep well.

The humidity smells inside the room is very bad, I woke up with a headache from the smell. The tv cannot be connected to the wi fi, It has to be connected to my phone through hotspot So I ended up without tv all night, But the regular channels will work but no Netflix or anything

This is one of the best stays I ever had in this area. Neil at the front desk and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable

Staff was helpful and polite but housekeepers kept knocking the door too early in the morning, maybe consider that sometimes guests need more rest. Provide a 'Do not disturb' sign to avoid this.

Lovely staff very helpful clean rooms

The staff was nice, not overly friendly. I had ordered a (1) King Size, Non-Smoking 4 day 3 night. They had given my room away. We were given (2) Full Size beds, not even Queen Size. I could check out and find another hotel or deal with it. I just said that we will deal with it. Received a call at 10:34am from Michelle the next said stating that they were moving us to another room, that I needed to come back to the hotel and get my things packed up and move. I explained that we were at the Aquarium that we did not know how long we would be. She did offer to have the Executive Housekeeper go pack our things and move them into the new room. I declined, I asked if we could change when we get back she said that would be okay. Then Michelle called back at 10:44 stating the Owner said that they cannot wait, that the room needed to be cleaned for the next check in. I did not know how much longer we had on our tour of the Aquarium and travel back would be 30 minutes at least, depending on traffic. Michelle asked that we are back before 1pm. I told her I would try. After speaking to my husband, he said that we are not changing our itinerary to call them back; tell them we will remain in the room we were given. I called Michelle back and let her know. She did offer to have housekeeping clean our room, we declined for today and said we would have the room cleaned the next day. We did not speak to the other staff the rest our visit. We did have the room cleaned the next day.

Called the property to book an early stay the receptionist was very professional. When I got to the property she welcomed me to the property and made sure my stay was exceptional. Will book this property again.

the check in process was disturbing a frankly pissed me off! We came in the lobby about 5-6pm w noone at the desk - waited, waited, & WAITED until finally the lady comes out of the bathroom only to start complaining she had no help. Anyways... looked up my reservation, was told then I had to provide a credit card for a $100 hold - ( which I explained I wasnt aware of this prior to making the reservation) so all she states is she will just cancel my reservation! UMMM NO! Do not cancel my room, I am staying from out of state and I was just not aware I needed to have such made available upon checking in since my room was already paid for through Expedia - she said it once again, as I was getting my husband's card she was already typing - unreal!!!

I like the front desk service when we arrived and the breakfast in the morning was very convenient

Great location right off the highway. Good price for the location. Breakfast included and is adequate. 15 minutes from Moffitt Cancer Center.

We chose this property based on price. The price was low for a reason. The property was dated - old carpets, bathrooms were small, walls need to be painted, etc. Breakfast was included but the choices were very limited. This trip was centered around a day at Busch Gardens. I recommend paying a little more for a hotel that is newer/updated, offers a better breakfast and provides a shuttle. There are food choices nearby but not within walking distance (outside of Bob Evans). Plan to drive several miles for food if you stay at this location. I do not recommend this hotel

This location is close to Busch Gardens as well as USF. Plenty of food options close by.

The location couldn’t have been better as we were there for tour of USF. Busch Gardens is also very close by. The owner is attentive and the check out staff made everything easy. Lots of restaurants near by ie Boston Market, yum, Walgreens near by for munchies, Starbucks and Racetrack, everything we needed. If traveling with children they have a free breakfast to start your day, so big money saver. Thank you to Sleep Inn 🏨 as we will be back for USF school requirements.

Nice location

Service was good and cleanliness. But the breakfast was awful. Biscuits and gravy was offered and the food was still at refrigerator temperature. Fruit Loop cereal was advertised on the dispenser and it was knock off brand and stale. Milk was room temperature making it taste awful. Breakfast definitely needs to be stepped up big time. On our last night as we headed to the lobby there was a couple in which the girl was on drugs and was overdosing or just having a bad reaction in the lobby by elevator doors.

Friendly Staff, excellent customer service. Room pleasant clean and free from unpleasant odors. Breakfast needs much improvement. Sausages looked and tasted raw, eggs tasteless. Actually thought they were powdered eggs lol.

The stay was adequate. I was not expecting the $100 hold on my card for incidentals which they did not disclose on the website. The carpets in the room could’ve been cleaner and the breakfast was very limited. All they had we sausage croissant sandwiches which were pork and a few other items. As someone who doesn’t eat pork it was very disappointing. For the price I paid for a 2 star hotel I was expecting a little more breakfast options at least.
