Brandon Center Hotel, An Ihg Hotel

We stayed on first floor by the exit door. Sign on the door says will remain locked, please use front door for your safety. However, the door remain unlocked the entire time even during the night. We also had a dog with us as it says it is pet friendly however, there are no really good areas for the dog too, go to the bathroom. Maybe it was because of construction, but there was just debris everywhere in the back. Then there is the pool that was locked. We were supposed to say tonight, but only stayed one night.

If my booking of 5 nights was not a nonrefundable booking then I would have left and gone somewhere else. Honestly a Motel 6 would probably have been better. It is under remodeling which was not listed anywhere. However that was the least of the issues. The first two nights/3 days was like being next to a live filming of the Jerry Springer show. I asked twice to be moved and was told they couldn’t. My room was close to the front so they could obviously hear the hours long of yelling and screaming morning and night. Yet nothing was done. My room was only moved was all the remodeling dust started coming under the door into my room. All I wanted was a clean and quiet place to sleep and use the amenities they said they had. No towels in the fitness room. No soap for the washing machine (the dispenser took my money though). I tried to buy it at the front desk and they did not have any. All reclining pool chairs were broken. The staff was all pleasant, apologetic, and kind but unfortunately that did not change the experience of staying there. They said they are turning into a Hilton (the price point is already there) and they have a lot to work on before that is a successful transition. Other positive note was a hot breakfast on weekends. Unfortunately during the week it’s a typical continental breakfast.

The property is under construction, there was no use of the pool- no chairs out there at all. Breakfast was not what i expected but ok i guess. Room was clean!

Staff was helpful and friendly- Alex at the front desk was great. Property needs maintenance- ice machine didn’t work, lobby bathroom needed repair, pool chairs were broken.

Any check in before 1 PM is an extra $50, however at least they allow check in up to 2 hours early. The gym isn't working yet, The staff were friendly, generally clean; overall a good place to stay.

Interior was not well kept. Carpeting in common areas was in poor shape. Beds were well past time to replace mattresses. Water pressure was poor and temperature challenging. Parking lot was full of potholes and no back entrance to hotel if you had to park in back. Dimly lit parking. Very little parking infron where access was located.

They are remodeling and our room was clean and freshly painted. The staff was great and very helpful with things to do in the area.

Manager behavior was unacceptable ~ Brainstorming on customer service should be reviewed. Transition from Brandon center Hotel to • Spark by Hilton • ~ mislead customer while booking . Extra fees related to this issue. Room was sanitized 5 stars. Convivial breakfast (Basic) Staffing was polite and pleasant. Exterior dining walking distance Excellent. Elevator safety certificate expired since 6 months. Pets friendly ~ Area well maintained. Again customer service can be improved. Kindly, Julie D.

The room was ok, comfortable and clean when we checked in, but we found out that there was no room cleaning available. Nice and quiet, the staff was very helpful. Nice location. Nice enough gym/workout area, pool, laundry room, but couldn't find the ice and vending machines as posted.

Good clean property

First of all they required an extra 100.00 deposit on top of the overpriced, outdated property, the bathroom was outdated, no jacks to plug in phones, the toilet ran, all night, then stopped filling so we couldn’t flush it, my daughter’s room smelled like urine, covers on bed were mildewed, we both saw roaches crawling. On top of that when we complained the front desk clerk, acted so unbothered.

The front desk lady was rude and not friendly, the bathroom smelled like pee and had a cockroach, the shower water was yellow so I had to let it run for a few minutes for it to clear up, there is breakfast included but there weren’t even scrambled eggs, and there were pieces of hair on my bed sheets. Overall a very bad experience.

SO COMPLETELY DISGUSTING that I had to file a complaint with the Flordia DBPR. I recommend that other do the same. Here are the findings of the resulting inspection from the Flordia DBPR. Additionally I see that their lisence is inactive and Id like to note that we had to leave the hotel and find a diffrent place to stay as it was so unsanitary. They also refused to refund me which I had to deal with by other means. Violation Observation 17-07-5 Basic - Mattress/box spring of the bed is soiled/stained. Stained mattress room 108. **Repeat Violation** 17-03-5 Basic - Pillowcase/pillow for the bed is soiled/stained. Stained pillow room 108 and 203. 17-02-5 Basic - Sheet(s) on the bed are soiled/stained. Hair on sheets in room 108 and 203. **Repeat Violation** 24-20-4 High Priority - Dead roaches present. 1 dead roach on floor in room 203. Operator cleaned and sanitized at time of inspection. **Corrected On-Site** 22-17-4 High Priority - Ice chute soiled with mold-like substance/slime/dry debris. First floor ice machine. 38-17-2 High Priority - License from the Division of Hotels and Restaurants expired. **Admin Complaint**

This place doesn’t deserve not even a star, when my sister uncover the bedsheet there was a ROACH ON THE BED!!! The bathroom tub looked filthy and there was also a hair, and the inside of the toilet is all peeled. The room also smelled like mold, this was my first time ever experiencing this at a hotel and the saddest part is that we had to stay the night because it was late and we didn’t have a place to stay.

Checked out right away. I could not even bare staying there for one night. Hotel is located in a sort of back alley which is super dark at night and not well lite up. Upon entering the lobby the smell of mold and wet dog hits you in the face. There is primarily rug throughout the entire hotel which you can tell is clearly not well kept, completely black from dirtiness and lots of stains. Taking the expired elevator up to the room the smell was unbearable. Entering the room, the window was completely broken and laying flat on top of the a/c. I tried to put it back together with no success, and would fall for any breeze or sudden movement. The smell in the room also made it difficult to breathe. The smell of moldiness and wet dog along with the dirty look overall of the room made it very difficult to even lay down. Flipping the sheets revealed a major yellow spot underneath. Immediately went back down stairs with all our belongings and requested to check out with a full refund, causing us to wander around at midnight in search for another hotel.

The property is dirty. The carpet in the hallway doesn't look like anyone ever vacuums it. It's really outdated and needs replaced or just tore up. The room we originally was in smelled strong like smoke so the moved us. The hallways and elevator smelled like weed. The rooms were dirty and the corners of the floor and under the bed were dirty. The sheets had stains on them. There were water bugs, probably from all the homeless people living there. Their "breakfast" was a joke. The beds are very uncomfortable. The pool didn't even look big enough for a couple of people and it was dirty. Felt very uncomfortable and unsafe the entire stay. We came from Ohio and was looking forward to something close to everything. This made our stay so bad. This place needs an entire revamp or closed.

The hotel is hidden from a road with other "hotel"s on it. This is definitely a "motel" status. It has indoor elevator but the building is so old and really rough. They are attempting to paint and do some upgrades, but they are failing. The bathroom for example has a granite counter now, but it sits on an old DIY cabinet and the bathtub looks like what you would find in an old prison. Dirty, stained surface, brown water came out for the first few minutes, and also some "debris" came out that was hard to wash down the drain. The floor was redone and the A/C cold, but the odor was unpleasant, the draperies and furniture very, very dirty, stained, and unpleasant. I was worried about parking my car there, as there were vagrants wondering the area. One front desk person was very nice, so I want to give her credit for working at this establishment as she belongs in nicer environment. Tough job, someone has to do it. If you don't mind getting a good price for a dirty room, then this is all you.

Rooms need upgrades.

It was nice. I got the “king room” one bed but I expected it to be a king.. it was a full but other then that and the WiFi not working well enough to play YouTube for the kiddo it was nice. Cheap and clean for last minute trip

The bed was the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on and the comforter had someone else’s hair on it. Paper thin walls and windows. The place was fairly clean otherwise. The front desk person was very nice. Spend the extra few bucks and go somewhere else if you want to sleep at all.

A bit old and run down but good value for the money.

Chose this out of necessity and price. They are updating down stairs but they need to do the rooms. Rooms are large but very very basic. Colours are old, bathroom is out of the 80’s, the bathroom door doesn’t close, just sticks. TV’s are super old and the decor leaves a lot to desire. Bed linen is worn and old, not expecting a good nights sleep.

Beds were ok- nothing special. No fridge or micro in the rooms. Room was clean.

The bed felt like it was worn out, we felt springs and metal the entire night. Pillows were not good as well.

The hotel was fine. Someone had painted the entirety of the door to the room and I mean everything. I had to use my full body weight to open the door and sometimes it just wouldn’t open. There is construction on 1st floor but i didnt hear it on the 3rd. Hearing people slam their doors from 5-6am wasnt pleasant. Maybe their doors were painted over as well

The staff was great. Front desk agents Jessica, Michael, and Soner were friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only issue I had was the AC is noisy when it clicks on & off throughout the night. I used the fan on function but it didn’t help.

for 1 clerk didnt tell me nothing just taking my credit card. didnt direct me to my room or tell me about morning breakfast and hours or check out time and also the breakfast spread was half it was from my last visit from 4 months ago also my bed needed to be replace. The mattress dipped so deep in the middle i had to sleep on the edge of the bed. if your on a budget its fine but not a good stay. fyi train your employees.

The night receptions was very unfriendly and seemed bothered anytime i requested help, which made stay less pleasant

The front desk was the friendliest staff I have ever had check me in. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name. He was so nice.

Property sit back and quiet... plus the staff is great..

The service and the room were excellent.

The manager/owner was rude, and we were charged a deposit fee and a daily pet fee, which none of those charges were mentioned beforehand or I would not have booked the rooms, and since we had to pay upfront with no reimbursement if cancelled, we had no choice but to stay. We had booked at a similar hotel in Tallahassee a few days ago and had a great experience, nothing like this place. But the person in charge in the other hotel was nice and there were no hidden fees. If I ever have to pass through this area, NO WAY will I ever stay here.

Evacuated for Hurricane Idalia with a friend and stayed here. Although, the place is undergoing renovations, the staff was super friendy, accommodating and went above and beyond. I'd especially like to mention Felipe, Heidi and Leon, who made our stay awesome, especially given the circumstances.

I stayed a week for work. The staff were very accommodating and helpful.

It was at a great price for me and my work crew and convenient location.

Pretty basic but great value compared to nearby alternatives. Clean room, good location near highways, shopping and dining.

The only thing missing was a decent breakfast, a poor variety of options, you had three choices, oatmeal, cereal, or a bagel. I would've loved some eggs and sausage, or even just one waffle maker! But for the price of the room its hard to complain. We had a wonderful time spent at this location.

They offered hot breakfast on the weekends from 6am until 10am, but they are usually done serving it by 9am, so make sure you wake up early if you want some eggs :)

Whilst this property was convenient it was i desperate need of an update. The carpet was disgusting and the smell in the rooms and the common areas were terrible. The breakfast was no where enough food catered for the guests staying. Also no attention to detail with coffee being hpt and fresh. Needs sone work

It’s an older hotel but we could tell they’ve been updating and newly renovated. Easy to get in and out of to the major roadways. Huge room with very comfy king bed. Great breakfast with omelets, bacon and pancakes along with all the normal goodies.
