Excellent property. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were pin drop quite. They valet you to the LandShark restaurant and the trolly goes to the other areas. Save your money and book an excellent experience at Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier.

Breakfast at Sidney’s was perfection with wonderful staff and a million dollar view. Villa scenery was beautiful with deer often walking by the patio. Personnel throughout the resort were friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Late October appears to be off-season with most activities and eateries closed. Only golf, pool, and 2 restaurants were open. Very few guests around/- almost like a ghost town. They say the resort is lively in summer. The furnishings could benefit from an update and the Margaritaville Shark’s Fin was soggy and salty (very low quality). Although desolate (e.g., less than 12 people), Margaritaville has a fun atmosphere and infrastructure.

I made plans for a quick family staycation We have water park season passes and stayed this past weekend. Everything was perfect from the pool to the room to the staff We rented a golf cart to drive around the island which was fun and easy

Property is nice. Rooms are clean. The tv remote was horrible Took forever to turn on, hard to change channel & the volume was loud & you could not lower it. They have fireplaces but they turn it on for you. We requested it and half hour later we were tired of waiting around so we cancelled. We were told maintenance was working it’s way to us. Not very pleased as the the pricing is not inexpensive and then nothing worked in the room.

Everything about this property is beautiful! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. This is my second time here the pool, workout, trails and water views all are amazing. The rooms and clean and comfortable. Beds are amazing!!

There were bugs in the shower. My wife and I had our Marriage Vow Renewal ceremony on Lake Lanier. After having a once in a lifetime event we went to our room to find live bugs in our shower. We notified the front desk when we checked out. We was extremely tired and just wanted to get a good nights sleep. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED.

I was surprised when we arrived that the lobby was so hot. I know they are getting new A/C but they also had a dining room closed which meant there was just one dining room. It was also hot and the staff was overwhelmed. The food was good though and our waitress was great-just very slow service. The pool was heated which is not needed in 90 degrees so the pool wasn’t as “refreshing” as it could have been and there was not enough shade. Our room was cool and nice but the roach on the carpet was not a good sight to see when we woke up. At checkout we had discrepancies in our bill. It’s a shame that the restaurant added a tip when we purchased drinks without us knowing. They wouldn’t do anything for us except refund the “resort fee” (which we knew nothing about anyway) because we booked through Expedia. I had been to this resort several years ago and the service and quality is definitely not the same. 😢

My wife and I stayed one night in one of the lake side villas, we were in town for an afternoon and didn’t want to drive the 5 hours home the same day. The Villa was really nice and was right next to the lake. A little musty smelling inside but I guess that’s expected with all of the wood and humidity throughout the years. Checking in was extremely easy and most of the front desk staff is on point and friendly.

I liked the view and how clean it was. Despite this, the room had a wet dog smell. The A/C was on 68, but it felt muggy in the room. There weren’t many channel options on the TV. It seemed like an old TV, based on the fact that the screen randomly froze and there were images superimposed over other images, at times. Part of the “resort fees” was access to the saltwater pool “24/7”, but it was closed when we went to swim. Overall, I spent a lot for what was ultimately a disappointing experience. My stays at Hilton properties half the price have been more enjoyable.

Attractive property with nice walking possibilities. Rooms were nice and well equipped. We ate in the Land Shark Restaurant. It was a bit dirty with uncleaned tables. Fairly commercial, unappealing decor and loud. Food OK, not great.

Rugs in room felt old and dirty. Decor through was outdated. Hard to find we had to drive around stop and ask where we’re the villas no sign from entrance to point us to the right direction. Unaware of the many stairs to our villa. Poor parking layout. Pool over crowded and far. Webs on chairs and table in patio.

Beautiful property, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We stayed in one of the Villas and couldn't be happier with our stay. The service we received from check-in to room service, to the engineer who came out to re-light the pilot light on our fireplace, everyone was professional and courteous.

We stayed at Deluxe King suite at villas room 712 it was on the bottom of the villa overlooking to lake view was nice but right next door had a family with 4 kids you could hear every conversation and crying all night at new years eve large group moved in on upstairs suite and partied till 5 am could not sleep the room we stayed at had a fridge and coffee maker but no other necessities only 1 pair of towels and 1 tiny soap was provided. It was a disappointment 😔

This property is beautiful and very large. The lake view villas were well worth the cost with a great back patio facing the lake. The rooms are well equipped and they will even deliver ice to your room! We rented a pontoon one day to explore the lake and the water was beautiful and clear!

I booked this hotel bc my son was getting married close by. I had to get up at 4:30 am for a rehearsal and I went to take a shower and there wasn’t any hot water. I called the front desk and they informed me that I would need to run the water to 20 min to get Luke warm water. I was in shock! I went to run the water and ran it for 20 min and probably filled 4 bath tubs with water. In a time when water is becoming more scarce it’s atrocious that every room wastes that much water. My kids were staying in two other rooms and they had the same issue. The furniture is extremely worn and damaged. No full length mirror. When I had the valet bring my luggage in I had three gowns I needed to hang and there wasn’t a closet with a hanging rod. He told me I could hang them on the shower curtain rod. Yes I want to hang my gowns in the bathroom where people go to the bathroom in there. What was supposed to be a special weekend was tainted by the horrible accommodations. The lobby and the grounds are beautiful now the rooms need to be as well. Do not stay here if you want warm showers!

There were two weddings happening but the hotel itself didn’t appear to be booked. We were given a room next to wedding participants that were very noisy. Slamming the sliding glass door, etc, and generally having having a party late into the night in their room. Seems to me we could have been given a room away from the party goers. We went to the hotel casual restaurant, Bullfrogs, for dinner. We were given a table next to the kitchen door. The restaurant was almost empty. When asking for a different table, the hostess said the other area was taken and then went into to kitchen to complain about me. Glass window next to us! The other area was almost empty. I think a hotel of this rating should have better customer service.

Legacy Lodge is in a beautiful setting on Lake Lanier. Will be coming back and will play the golf course next time. Stayed in a lower unit villa and there is not enough insulation between floors. Sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Also, bit of a snafu at check out: we were over charged and am still waiting for the refund. Next time we'll stay in the lodge instead of the villa. Went to a great brewery and distillery nearby in Sugar Hills called Apparation Brewery. Look forward to visiting other breweries and wineries in the area.

I stayed in a villa. When I checked in, there were three desk clerks. One was busy checking someone in, the other two kept me waiting while having a conversation between themselves for what I thought was a long period of time. The one that finally checked me in was not at all friendly. Inside villa, toilet seat was not firmly attached - kept sliding around. Shower drained very slowly. I had an asthma episode due to the strong carpet cleaner. Neighbors had a party until 1:30am. I was traveling alone so did not feel comfortable reporting them - they would have known it was me. I got lost on the property after dark and with the poor lighting (no lighting on signs.) I did not feel safe.When I called to complain about the room (carpet cleaner or pet) the guy on the phone politely offered to move me the next day, but the smell had lessened and I was leaving. And I must add that in the morning (different) desk clerks were extremely helpful and friendly. I've traveled for work for over 30 years so I know things happen in a hotel and have never once complained. This was for leisure and you asked. I will not stay there again. My sincere regrets.

It's a beautiful area, obviously, and the place is clean, the room was nice and clean and the bed was comfy. However, there is definitely some false advertising going on here. In the description for this room "Lanier Lodge" it clearly states that you have "water park access" with your room, which is not the case, you have to pay extra for anything you want to do, your room does not grant you access to anything that Lanier Islands has to offer. I also don't like surprises when I prepay for a trip, and upon my arrival to check in, they then inform me that it's $25 extra for "resort fees" per night (so $50 extra) and then another $50 per night (so $100 extra) hold on my credit card for any incidentals, which will be refunded in 3-5 days. I reluctantly agreed, but again, I don't appreciate surprises on a trip that I prepaid for. I brought all of this to the manager's attention that Saturday and he was basically unwilling to help in any way. This was a special getaway for my husband and I and we will not be returning after all of this. Beware consumers.

When I checked in, I asked if there was any charge for later checkout, they told me “no” then the next morning I got a notification that my credit card was charged $122 for late checkout. I complained to the registration desk and they reduced it to $37.50 for the resort fee but I had already paid that with my Expedia fees. I was dissatisfied with Legacy Lodge and I don’t recommend them to anyone. I will not be booking any future nights with them.

This isn't my first time staying here. I’ve visited before with my family because I love the lake and have good memories. This time, I made a last-minute reservation to spend some quiet time alone after going through a difficult experience. The hotel seems to be in a similar condition as before, but I was disappointed to find that the walking paths for solo strolls weren’t properly maintained. Most of all, I was frustrated by a billing error in which I was charged twice for an unexpected fee, and even after calling, the issue wasn’t properly resolved.

We enjoyed the door staff,something so simple like opening the door and greeting is something that sets hotels apart from others. The transportation from the hotel to our boat parked at the marina was a great amenity as well. One thing I would like to point out is the lackluster food at bullfrogs. The lodge really has everything you need except good food. The food just never seemed to be fresh. Having better dining options would prevent guest from leaving the property for a meal.

So overall I enjoyed my stay but a few things threw up some flags. The hotel bar is in need of updating. The metal bar top was in bad condition and the stools were uncomfortable. They were also out of some foods and many alcohol/beer. The hamburger I ate was very dry and their Mexican corn was not what I expected as 8 ear nubs grilled. Then the next night my fruit cup against wasn’t what I expected. I had heard another customer complain about the buffet bar at a wedding she just attended was bad. Also many staff was in positions where you could hear them complaining about working there.
