The room was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is walkable, felt safe, has lots of touristy shops and a variety of good restaurants. There is a nice manager’s reception each afternoon with beverages, snacks and charcuterie. Valet parking is convenient but pricey ($50/day). I’d recommend River Street Inn to friends and family if they visit Savannah.

When we arrived at the valet station, three attendants were standing there and were very friendly but no one offered to help my daughter and I with all of our bags. Then they handed me a ticket and when I said thank you while carrying a bunch of bags one mumbled under their breath about a tip. Um no. I will tip at checkout of course but this annoyed me. The amount of perfume/scent used in the towels gave me a headache. Our room was on the opposite side so we didn’t have a river view but faced the street without blackout curtains. The hotel gym was small and the bike and one of the treadmills were not working. We only stayed one night so maybe if we were staying longer it would be worth complaining. The check-in was friendly and the location of the hotel was great. We walked everywhere.

Parking is nonexistent, hand to valet parking. (Not a fan) Property is clean and staff is friendly. Easy access to local restaurants. Great one on site (Broken Keel) food was delicious!

The River Street Inn is an interesting old building, with original flooring/staircases and antique charm. We had two rooms on the 3rd floor, and it seemed as though there had been some historical water damage. Both of our rooms had a pervading ‘musty’ smell, and inability to open window or run a fan. The hotel asked about our stay via text, and when told about the unpleasant odor, they didn’t offer any sort of remedy. Great views of the river, and close to a lot of the town’s best features. We loved the Cotton Exchange bar/restaurant next door, best meal of this leg of our trip. We were also thrilled by the happy hour, run by the fantastic and pleasant Brad: great spread of cheeses/crackers, fruit, delicious local beers, wine, cocktails. Brad’s happy hour was the high point of our stay here. Would stay again if rooms higher up in the building were less musty.

The front desk, restaurant, bar and housekeeping staff all were warm and welcoming. Our river view room was clean, the king bed was very comfortable and the furniture charming and in touch with the character of this historic building. Upon check in we were offered complimentary champagne - a nice touch. The complimentary managers afternoon reception provided nice drinks and snacks. We enjoyed a tasty cooked to order breakfast in the restaurant & the speakeasy drinks were awesome. We enjoyed Savannah and we would stay again at the River Street Inn.

The room and property were really quaint. Very old charm but in fantastic condition. They really make it historic and clean. It is old so there is a bit of a musty odor. The restaurant was awful tho and the valet parking is $50 which is stupid.

Bradley at the front desk was wonderful! BUT, After our room not being available to check into until after 4PM as indicated on the website, our room was not clean, and hadn't been cleaned recently, definitely not same day. There were hairs on the floor, and countertops that had not been wiped, and the floor in the bathroom had not been mopped at all, sticky hairspray residue and the feet of the furniture pieces are covered in dust. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to figure out if they had another room available, so we stayed. The sheets seemed clean, so we unpacked. But very disappointing considering the price we paid for a 2 night stay.

Bathroom has mold in the shower no hot water no water pressure, leaks everywhere in hotel due to heavy rains floors very slippery the bed was ok air didn't seem to be the temp you set it on. The blinds where broken and the sink in bathroom didn't drain. The room was pretty to look at both nothing functioned properly

The property was updated, had great staff and felt safe. We were on the top floor overlooking river street. On the weekends, it was a little noisy with vehicles and people having a good time, but nothing we did not expect. Walkable to Broughton street for shopping, restaurant spots and site seeing near the area. The hotel was a bit humid and felt damp, as was our room, had a little black mold in the shower (I assume due to the humidity), even with the AC all the way down, that would have been my only complaint! Otherwise a great experience!

Our room was on the 2nd floor with an alley behind it and there were people rolling garbage cans back and forth loudly the whole time. Also loud machines and people making noise late at night and early in the morning. Very disappointed.

Rooms has a nasty smell especially in the bathroom. Shower heads needs to be cleaned or replaced. The hotel is not sound proof so you hear literally everything in the hall and outside. Location is prime, walkable. Staff need to do better communicating during check-in. One of our rooms were ready until after 4pm. The little events around the hotel are nice but we did not use them.

Nice hotel, room on the small side, but had balcony facing the river. The hotel is decorated nicely, carpets and walls could use a refresher. Shower didn’t drain properly. All in all I’d stay here again.

Great area and overall a good hotel. However, there was loud drilling noises in the early hours of the morning that made it hard to sleep. Also, I was charged $30 extra a day because I booked through Expedia.

We had a river view room and first night was good which was a Thursday. Second and third nights we didn’t get much sleep at all - very loud with music, yelling and cars reving their engines until all hours of the night! The morning we left there was a bunch of tiny ants in our bathroom. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at this hotel.

The room was nice and clean. We’ve stayed at this hotel before and loved it. The only downside we had was the room we were in was right under the check in desk and lobby entrance! Also this room was right beside the staircase that goes to the next floor. We heard footsteps the entire night. It was hard to rest.

By far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Checked in at 1:18pm. Got to the room and the carpet was wet and it smelled of mold. Requested a room change. We were asked to leave the room we checked into. Then waited in the lobby for two hours on a room. Finally got in to the new room. It was never cleaned. Had mold all over the shower. Told front desk and no one ever cleaned it. The rooms smell. Nothing has been kept up. Some of the staff (not all) were incredibly rude. The car valet service was down. Had to hand a physical ticket and wait for our car. Took an hour for them to get it Saturday. Rooms. Service. Location. Price. Food. Literally everything about this hotel is bad.

Perfect except the signs for directions to our room were inaccurate, causing my elderly mother to walk way more than needed. I alerted the front desk manager and her response was "yeah I'm not sure why that is." Only other gripe would be the Valet manager seems to have an attitude and played games with returning my car keys for a tip. I normally tip after the service is complete n order to reflect the service received.Call me crazy. Overall a great hotel in the center of the action. Highly recommend!!!

First time to Savannah and we’re ready to come back. We stayed on the riverfront in a historic hotel right before a big weekend. Had we been able to book it for three days? We might still be there, but in the meantime, went ahead and booked a carriage house. Staff was amazing from the valet parking to the hospitality extraordinaire. I wish I would’ve gotten the ladies name. She gave us such a great welcome. And a woman the next day at the lobby desk was so very helpful in pointing out where Lucas theater was and how walkable the area was.. we will be returning !

Avoid this hotel. Parking situation is horrible. Customer service was horrible. Room wasn’t ready at 4 PM. Told to wait. Meanwhile we had been traveling with a sick baby and needed the room ready when promised. Skip this hotel and just book the Hyatt next door.

Everything has been excellent, from the minute we pulled in, to the time to checkout. The building and amenities are absolutely outstanding. The staff is even better. Staying here made our 25th wedding anniversary even more memorable.

Valet parking was not available stating they were full at 5 in the evening. Had to use a parking garage. Room was nice and view was beautiful however the noise from River Street was loud. Will not use this hotel again. Too much $ for the issues.

Beautiful historic hotel in the middle of the river street downtown historic area. Did not need to drive anywhere. The music from river street was a little loud but basically quieted down around 11 so not too bad. Micah, the valet enployee, was awesome!

The property was in a great location.Everything was within walking distance.The staff was very nice and accommodating. The only thing and it has nothing to do with the hotel is that the fountain is being renovated in forsyth park.So if you're coming to see that then don't come right now.

Overall a great location and most staff were excellent and welcoming. We were not able to access our room until the posted time but could drop off our luggage at the front desk. Not happy about all the extra fees and still trying to resolve the pricing. We loved the restaurants in the hotel with extra incentives to dine there. Room was just ok and modernization doesn’t really fit with the historical property. Decent, but expensive. Overall we had a very nice visit but would stay elsewhere if we returned
