The hotel was very nice, clean & properly updated. A very nice lobby, bar & common areas with direct views of the river. We were in a “partial ocean” view room yet it was a full on river view. From the 8th floor it felt like being on a ship. We watch the massive barges carrying cargo go back & daily. The hotel staff was very friendly & helpfu. As our 1st visit to Savannah. The only negative was the pool which was on the side with no views & looking into the parking garage next door. With the high temperatures while there we didn’t try to use the poo; as there was not even a breeze due to the buildings blocking it. An unexpected nice perk was the local water type taxi dropped off & picked up directly behind the property, allowing to travel free down the river to the center point of the river walk action. The boat was very large & clean & consistently on schedule. I would recommend if you book here to request at least a partial river view. It was enjoyable even without a balcony. I do recommend the Marriott Riverfront Savannah.

My family enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Riverfront. The staff were friendly, the hotel is gorgeous and we felt safe. However, the pool water looked a little murky and could use a cleaning with all the sunscreens and lotions and other things that are on the body that are probably being transferred. But overall, we had a great time! We were in walking distance of the Riverwalk and 25 minutes away from the beach. It was a great experience and we will book again!

The pool is in a very odd location with a view of the parking deck and parking lots. There were several fire ants crawling around and biting and stuff failing from the trees into drinks, onto chairs and our bodies. Very disappointing for such a nice hotel and the cost

I got stuck in the elevator as it broke down. My friend told me it was the same one they were working on about an hour prior. Of they knew there was issues they should have closed it. I told Marriott through the app and they didn't seem concerned at all, which is terribly disappointing. My neighbor was awful screaming at her kids until one in the morning then first thing the following morning. It was mother's day, I just wanted to sleep in. I understand its a hotel. I travel every week for work and live the hotel life. I shared this with the hotel staff as well. Again no concern or solutions. I would absolutely never stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

The water front view was amazing. Due to the excessive heat it was nice to have a few seats indoors overlooking the water. Could be a few more. The Magnolia Spa onsite is top notch. Staff is accommodating and pleasant.

Standard, superior Marriott bed linens. Spa on site. Quiet hours after 10 pm. The perfect place to get away and just breathe.

Hotel is on riverfront so location was wonderful. Everything about the hotel itself was excellent. They charge $40 per day to park your car on their property which I feel is way to expensive.

Shockingly Dirty Room – Not What You Expect from a Marriott We were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of our room at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront. Upon arrival, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor, and it only got worse as we looked around. There was vomit under one of the tables, fingernail clippings on and inside multiple tables, and pubic hair covering the bottom of the shower. Even more disturbing, there appeared to be bodily fluids smeared on the bathroom wall. This level of filth is completely unacceptable, especially from a Marriott-branded property. It was clear the room had not been properly cleaned or inspected before our stay. We did not feel comfortable or safe, and it seriously impacted our trip. The location is great and the lobby is attractive, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of basic hygiene in the room. I hope management takes this seriously and makes major changes.

We chose the Marriott in Savannah, Georgia, due to the brand’s reputation and our positive experiences with Marriott properties both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short of the standards expected from the Marriott name. Upon arrival, we were assigned what was described as the last available room. Within minutes, we were ready to leave due to its deplorable condition: stained and dusty carpets, a malfunctioning air conditioner emitting a sickly damp odor, visible mold on walls and ceilings, broken furniture, heavily stained curtains, and a pervasive urine smell. We immediately returned to the front desk, where a courteous staff member apologized and confirmed no other rooms were available. At that point, we decided to leave and find alternative accommodations. However, the staff member, after speaking with the manager, offered us another room to inspect. This second room was an improvement—no urine smell or damp air conditioning, and the unit worked adequately—so we reluctantly decided to stay. Unfortunately, further inspection revealed additional issues: air conditioning vents caked with dust, suggesting years of neglect, and a bathroom that, while functional, was poorly maintained with subpar cleanliness, chipped paint, and worn glass doors. The overall experience felt more akin to a budget motel than a Marriott. It’s particularly disappointing given the hotel’s proximity to a JW Marriott, which reportedly houses a hospitality school.

This place really could use a good cleaning. I seen the same pieces of dirt on the floor our entire stay, vents in the bathroom were filled with dust , Bathroom was not cleaned well . Our first room smelled like , someone had a problem. No access to free water bottles. In my opinion if you are paying. $300 a night . You should get a free water bottle a day to at least make coffee in your room .

The rooms were spacious and the property was clean. They don’t disclose if you park there it’s $40 per day which is crazy since you’re literally paying to sleep there. The room you book online with a balcony that shows the river is not the room you get, all the balconies are inside an atrium so they are all essentially “inside” rooms. Very misleading. The beds are not comfy at all.

Rooms were clean & well kept. The a/c didn't seem to work well at all - thermostat went down to 60 but the room felt hot & stale. The beds are very soft & not very supportive. As someone with a bad back, this didn't work for me but my kids loved it. The shower cycled through lukewarm & mildly hot water at the hottest setting. Other than that, the front desk people were wonderful & the lounge was nice to have.

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 40th year anniversary in Savannah, Georgia. We used Expedia to book a riverfront BALCONY room and paid extra for the BALCONY. During check-in at the hotel, we were informed by the front desk attendant and also manager that we did not book a BALCONY room, and we were given a room with only a riverfront view (NO BALCONY). Our anniversary celebration was affected, and we don't know WHY this happened. We're not sure if we will ever use Expedia or stay at this hotel again!

We didn't love that the rooms surrounded an atrium that was extremely echoey. We had to use noise cancelling ear buds and white noise to drown out the sound from the atrium. Even though it is posted that quiet time is at 10:00 PM, it was very noisy easily until 1:00 AM. After 2 days of walking around and activities, we wanted it to be more quiet so we could sleep, but it was just not possible with the noise.

I’ve stayed at a few marriot properties and this is definitely the worst Marriott I’ve stayed at, at a rate of $400 a night. There is no bellman to help with the luggage and self parking is $38 a night. The rooms are clean but the rooms facing the atriums are very noisy and it’s difficult to sleep at night. Although the quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am this is not enforced. There is a bar in the lobby that runs until midnight and the noise can be heard in the rooms facing the atrium. I asked for a quiet feather free room when booking, but received a noisy room full of feathers - fortunately we had allergy meds stuff us. I’ve stayed at the Hyatt Regency up the road a few days and would highly recommend that instead.

We went for our honeymoon to Savannah, our room was very stuffy causing us to be quite congested the whole trip. Hot water in the room didn’t work, the walls were so thin we could hear one both neighbors escapades all hours. Very frustrating paying this kind of price to end up with such a disappointing room.

The hotel itself is incredibly overpriced. They did nothing special to justify the bloated nightly rate, which doesn't include Internet, parking, or breakfast (all of which are outrageously priced themselves) Specific reasons I was disappointed was very poor soundproofing (we could hear people from adjacent rooms, the lobby, and outside as though the walls were paper thin. The wall would crash everytime a door opened or closed along our hallway, and the outlet in the bathroom had exposed wiring and was not secured correctly to the wall. There was an irritating high pitched buzzing sound whenever the bathroom light was on suggesting further electrical problems. They failed to fill the shower gel (soap) and we were out for the entirety

The property was beautiful and everyone of the staff that we encountered were so nice and helpful. It was close to the things that we wanted to do. The food was great as was the service. The only thing I did not like is that our first night there we were having a drink at the bar. It was fairly early in the evening so they were not overly busy. The lady bartender was very nice and efficient. Then someone that I assume was in management went behind the bar and started telling her that she had better do a better job of checking to be sure of the room number of people charging to their room or in the future she would be paying the charges out of her pocket. Excellent staff. Bellman, Nick, was extraordinary from the moment we arrived to check in. My husband is disabled and he went the extra mile to ensure that we were accommodated. My reservation request was for a handicap accessible room with a walk-in shower. I asked for confirmation three times during check in. When we got to the room, it was a bathtub, so we had to be reassigned to a different room. Nick stayed with us during the entire ordeal to make sure we got the appropriate room as requested. Once we got that situated, the rest of the service was good.

Subject: Privacy Concern During Our Stay Hello, We really enjoyed our stay at the property — it was a beautiful space and overall a pleasant experience. However, there was one major issue that impacted our comfort and sense of security. The person assigned to clean our room entered twice without knocking or notice — once at 9:00 AM and again at 10:45 AM, even though checkout was at 11:00 AM. This was extremely disturbing, especially the second time, as I was in the shower when I heard the door open. I was alarmed and had no idea what was going on. Thankfully, I had the door stopper engaged; otherwise, it would have been a full intrusion. Although I appreciate that parking was taken care of due to the incident, the real issue here is the breach of privacy. In today’s world, safety and privacy are not optional — they are essential. The dining options were few and overpriced. Multiple menus and signs at elevators listing specials that were not available. Waiter in Atrium served our food and never came back. After flagging down the manager, turns out the waiter was eating his lunch instead of serving us. Lunch was comped.

Had a very nice stay, service and room was excellent. main restaurant is fine, breakfast restaurant a little pricey. A free coffee station in the lobby would’ve been a nice touch. The parking at $40 a day was a bit excessive, overall I would recommend, and I would return for another stay.
