Everything was great. It was very hot outside and the air conditioning was not working at the optimal temperature but after the sunset the temperature was better. Also, the staff was very helpful about it and offered to move us to another room and also got us a portable box fan. The only thing that bothered me and I didn’t like that they charge their guests $25 per night for parking.

I was disappointed in not being aware of reserving parking. I was told it was on the website, but I only saw that "On-site parking was available for $15/night". When we got there, no parking was available. We were told we had to reserve ahead of time and try to park on the street or look for a garage. This should be in bold on the website to reserve ahead. Also, note no elevator if you stay on the 2nd level. The room smelled clean, and the sheets were, so that's a positive. However, the sink had whiskers in it from the previous tenants. So, I needed to clean the entire sink area on my own. The walls in the whole space and baseboard need painting, and the caulking in the bathroom area needs to be replaced. I also found the road traffic to be loud. Overall, I was disappointed.

If you didn't slam the door it would not latch to lock , not a problem for me but everone next to me probably thought i was a jerk. The counter attendants could be nicer, no one had any personality or conversational skills. Had to ask for towels, room service was non-existent. Donuts were off the chain. Like the music playing outside. Convenient to all you want to see in Savanna. Price point is excellent. Paying extra for parking after the fact seemed kinda crappy, but worth it.

This is my favorite Savannah motel! Super cute theme, rooms are always very clean and beds are comfy. There is some noise from traffic but it’s not that bad. $20 a night for parking but that’s VERY reasonable! The lot also has an EV charger if you need one. Donuts in the morning are fantastic. My only complaint this trip was that there was an ashtray outside my room (room 119) and the smoke smell snuck in through the door when people were out there, but if they got rid of that smoking area and moved it away from the rooms, it would have been perfect! I will definitely be back!

Way over hyped and over filtered pics. Room was gross and worn out. AC was ok but understandable since it was summer temps. Parking was overpriced. No pool. It is just an old motel with some paint slapped on it. Just find another place unless this place is the cheapest and you are on a budget.

The room was clean but the floors were really dirty. My husband spilled some water and when he cleaned it up the towel was disgusting. The only other issue I saw was the towel I used for the shower was ripped and the edges were very frayed. The room itself was clean and you could smell that when you walked in. The guy who checked us in was very nice and answered all of our questions. The property itself was clean and so was the check in office. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I absolutely loved the Thunderbird Hotel. The room smelled freshly clean when we entered it. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We would 100% stay here again.

The location and staff were wonderful. It was just a short walk to the river front area. The rooms had not had a deep clean in a very long time. The cleanliness of the bathroom and the AC unit were not up to my standards at home.

Our stay overall was ok, not great. Considering how expensive Savannah can be on the weekends, I suppose the Thunderbird Inn provides relatively good value. The location is great, the amenities in the lobby were great, and music playing around the grounds is fun. Not so great: the front desk staff lacked basic customer service training in politeness and friendliness. No Hello's or Welcome's or eye contact at check in. We were given a room on the ground floor behind the office. The area outside our door was dark and dingy. Our room was tired and worn out. Stains on the countertop, dust on the fixtures and AC, and the bathroom grout needed a deep cleaning. Can’t give more than 3 stars. It is what it is.

My husband and I booked a king-bed room for one night. The idea and concept of the Thunderbird is cool. I love the vintage colors and feel; however, this hotel was recently renovated just a few years back and should be in a little better shape than it is. There are things like spiderwebbish/dead bugs in the nook of the top of the wall and the ceiling. The bottom of the bathroom door looked a little dry-rotted. A stray hair here and there wasn’t my fav. The AC in the room works, but it doesn’t get super cold. I slept with no covers on. Street noise was there. We brought a sound machine with us, so that helped, but it was still there. There are no curtains on the windows, so the glow of the sidewalk light shines in (even with blinds closed). It’s like a nightlight. I never felt unsafe. You do have to pay to park, which I feel should’ve been built into the price of the stay. The bed was super soft, so if that’s your preference, you’ll love it. You have free coffee and donuts from Baker’s Pride (yum) in the morning. Overall, the stay was okay. It was cleanish. The noise was loudish. The bed was soft. Hope this helps.

We really like the Thunderbird. The location is great, the people are very nice, and you don't have to use valet parking. The rooms seem clean overall, but the one we stayed in could use a deep cleaning.

It was clean and comfortable. However, it was constantly noisy due to the busy road in front. Also, the bathroom fan was quite loud, and I couldn’t find a switch to turn it off. Additionally, having better blackout curtains would make the stay even more enjoyable.

The Thunderbird Inn was a cute mid-century motel. It was conveniently located and served our needs but it’s still a motel with minimum amenities. They offered a fresh variety of donuts every morning and popcorn and lemonade in the afternoons/evenings. The shower water pressure and temperature was good but the shower and bathroom were small. The biggest negative was no live TV and you had to stream from a smart from to the TV but the WiFi was terrible which caused continuous frustration trying to just watch a simple show. This must be fixed or they’ll lose busy. Also, the walls are super thin and not sound proof at all. We could literally hear the gentleman next door breathing and this was uncomfortable! I recommend they invest in at least some sound proofing between rooms. Overall, it was an okay stay.

The best thing this property has going for it is the staff. Hands down, they were super friendly and helpful. The key system to all rooms was down the entirety of our 4 day stay, so hats off to the staff because they literally had to open the door for each guest as they came in and out of their rooms. As for the hotel itself, I was not pleased. The air conditioner struggled to get out of the 70s. The mini fridge had a super musty odor, the phone inside the room did not work, the light over the sink randomly came on & off, the bathroom door was dirty/stained, as was the base of the toilet, I had to request an iron because there wasn’t one in the room, and it came without an ironing board. Also, the TV is streaming only, you can’t watch it unless you have a subscription to a streaming service & can cast from your phone. I get branding an older motel as “vintage” but honestly…it’s no different than a motel 6. Im also super disappointed in having to pay for parking when the property has its own parking lot. The ratio of spaces to total rooms begs the question of why guests would need to pay $25 a night for parking. They could easily limit to one car per room…it’s a total money grab. Paying an extra $100 to park for the quality rooms offered makes this an extremely overpriced property that I would not book again. The staff really made up for the inconveniences, really enjoyed them, but would not ever book here again.

The motel is right on a major street and was very loud day and night. Only television was hooking up to your personal streaming service. We also saw nothing about paying for parking in the reservation system. Only breakfast option was a donut. Most of staff was friendly, but one was very short and snappy. It’s a cute place though.

Everything was great with the value that I got from this place. Like they say, nostalgia really does live here so it was cool to relive an era we don’t really see anymore. My only feedback is that the mini fridge don’t really cool anything down and the power outlets didn’t really charge that fast. My computer was plugged in for several ours and only went up 15%.

The staff is incredible. We loved the yummy donuts and coffee at breakfast. The room is very noisy and the mini split doesn’t cool the room. Also, the steps upstairs need to be power washed. There’s wads of hair and yuck on them.

My three sisters and I went on vacation. We stop in Savannah one night. This Hotel reminded us a lot of our childhood when we went out with our parents AMAZING. The ladies at the registration were extremely kind. Crystal was very kind and the other ladies. We separate 3 rooms, all clean, good bed, comfortable, and a lot of amenities. Coffee, donuts, moon pie, pop-corn, lemonade Etc......

The best thing this property has going for it is the staff. Hands down, they were super friendly and helpful. The key system to all rooms was down the entirety of our 4 day stay, so hats off to the staff because they literally had to open the door for each guest as they came in and out of their rooms. As for the hotel itself, I was not pleased. The air conditioner struggled to get out of the 70s. The mini fridge had a super musty odor, the phone inside the room did not work, the light over the sink randomly came on & off, the bathroom door was dirty/stained, as was the base of the toilet, I had to request an iron because there wasn’t one in the room, and it came without an ironing board. Also, the TV is streaming only, you can’t watch it unless you have a subscription to a streaming service & can cast from your phone. I get branding an older motel as “vintage” but honestly…it’s no different than a motel 6. Im also super disappointed in having to pay for parking when the property has its own parking lot. The ratio of spaces to total rooms begs the question of why guests would need to pay $25 a night for parking. They could easily limit to one car per room…it’s a total money grab. Paying an extra $100 to park for the quality rooms offered makes this an extremely overpriced property that I would not book again. The staff really made up for the inconveniences, really enjoyed them, but would not ever book here again.

Wonderful stay with a great aesthetic. Literally met the nicest front desk lady from my entire trip who also gave great advice for somebody whose never been in the city. I ended up having a great night thanks to the staff here.

Favorite spot in Savannah! We’ve stayed here 3+ times now. Perfect location that’s walkable to downtown and River Street. The staff is always very kind and goes above and beyond. The icing on top? The complimentary donuts are absolutely fantastic.

Our stay overall was ok, not great. Considering how expensive Savannah can be on the weekends, I suppose the Thunderbird Inn provides relatively good value. The location is great, the amenities in the lobby were great, and music playing around the grounds is fun. Not so great: the front desk staff lacked basic customer service training in politeness and friendliness. No Hello's or Welcome's or eye contact at check in. We were given a room on the ground floor behind the office. The area outside our door was dark and dingy. Our room was tired and worn out. Stains on the countertop, dust on the fixtures and AC, and the bathroom grout needed a deep cleaning. Can’t give more than 3 stars. It is what it is.

The stay here was unforgettable! It reminded us of old times and was just the most unique experience. On a more practical note: the rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and the little extras (popcorn, lemonade, RC Cola, Moon Pies, and fresh donuts) made it feel so fun and accommodating. Plus, if you’re taking the Old Town Trolley tour, you’re only a 5 minute or less walk to stop #2. Leave your car parked at the hotel and hop on and off the trolley for the day! So convenient!!! We will definitely stay again!

We enjoyed a two night stay in this stylish and fun motel. Excellent location - within a 5 minute stroll of the historic district. Savannah is a very walkable city. The room is comfortable, clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay again.

I’ve stayed in Savannah a bunch before and walked past this place before. Had a one night solo trip so thought I’d check it out and save a few dollars. Place is super cool if you’re into the 70s retro style - cool little perks too like popcorn in the foyer. I would tell people the location is a little out of the fray but if you don’t mind walking a few more blocks it’s totally worth it!

We have stayed here before and had a wonderful experience. This time we had neighbors screaming at each other at 3 am. Didn't get much sleep. Also, it doesn't seem like it is being well maintained. It's not the worst place to stay, but we will probably look for other options for future stays.
