Fairfield Inn & Suites Peru

The staff was incredible - very attentive and amicable. The continental breakfast was also impressive; as someone who typically goes for "hot plate" items, I enjoyed everything I tried and appreciated variety day to day while also keeping consistency with others. The infused water is a cherry on the top! My king-bed room was spacious and well-kept, with very comfortable bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, and instant coffee maker (though I don't drink coffee). Though I didn't use the gym or pool, they also looked well maintained. While the hotel is located in an oversized parking lot, it connects to many retail, food, and entertainment options. I was visiting to explore Starved Rock, which was a short drive away; my recommendation - try the local restaurants and stay away from the national chains if you can! Incredible options in the area like Jalapenos (next door), Stone Jug Barbeque, and The Rootbeer Stand.

We were disappointed that the pool was not open

The room was nice and the staff was very nice. I just saw that they charged me $3 for parking. That makes no sense. They have a regular parking lot, not downtown or in a parking ramp. That seems ridiculous to me.
