Arcadian Hotel

Easy and early check in. Safe parking and much cheaper than most Boston hotels.

Difficult/weird not well lit parking with a super creepy alleyway to go down. No bar or convenience store as depicted on website. Incredibly noisy room - little lighting, no windows, no closet, huge gross stain on the carpet. Lackluster “free” breakfast at best. A surprise $167 charge on check in - $100 security deposit which hopefully gets returned upon checkout, $67 “convenience/facilitiy” fee. The only staff that speak to you is the front desk, everyone else is creepily silent. Needless to stay, first and last time staying here.

It was decent. No vending machines per the front desk. There were no snack options. The rooms were not very comfortable. It was not a convenient location.

Overall pleasant, average hotel stay. The garage parking option is weird, and confusing to find when you first arrive. The parking is underneath the hotel with parking being a separate cost.

Missing expected items like safe, laundry bags, towels. Parking was inconvenient and too far to walk for handicap people

Everything about the room was wonderful. However, the valet was full, so we had to park in their “over flow” parking garage that smelled like urine and was not secure at all.

Nice place to stay. Convenient to Fenway and nearby restaurants. The room was nice and comfortable. The air conditioner was damaged and barely attached to the wall and didn't work well. We also had to pay $45 to park in the garage overnight and it was barely over half full. I would stay there again because of the location.

A great place to stay for a Sox game. The Green Line to Kenmore is right across the street and not crowded at all for a game night. There is a secure parking garage for a fee under the hotel but it fills up quickly. If you check in late there may not be any spaces left. There are no food options in the immediate area or onsite. The included breakfast is not great but will do in a pinch. We jokingly called it the bread buffet, a lot of toast, bagels and English muffins. When we checked in our room AC was broken and 90 degrees. The front desk clerk was super nice and quickly got us a new one. The AC in the new room worked well but was loud. The hotel itself was pretty quiet. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel a couple of blocks from a great neighborhood. Be aware: they charge an extra $35/night “destination fee” when you arrive, so the price that Expedia shows “including all taxes and fees” does not include THAT fee. Also, while I was there the only elevator went out of service for several hours, and they were very begrudging about taking me up to the fifth floor on their service elevator.

The hotel was nice inside and clean. I booked this hotel specifically because the listing said it hard a bar inside and I wanted to grab a couple drinks before the event I was in town for. There are signs for the bar and even a whole blurb about it on the TV in the hotel room but when I went down there they said the bar was not up and running and that it never has been opened at all, I found that to be misleading.

The Arcadian was not at all what we expected from the photos online. Aside from the office chair, there’s no seat in the room. No table or place to sit things down, aside from the small desk right under the TV. The ancient AC/heating unit is furry with dust. The wall and ceiling are stained with a water leak and the room smelled faintly musty. The bathroom is very cramped. The door handle from inside the bathroom doesn’t function properly, making it hard to get out without help. The vanity is tiny, old and sloping off the wall—and it was dirty. (See photo of Lysol wipe.) It and the toilet were abnormally low to the ground. The tile grout is badly stained. The door to the bathroom had handprints and smudges all over. The soap quickly dissolved into a weird cottage cheese texture, rendering it unusable. The carpet in our room was stained, and paint was chipping. The hallway wasn’t particularly clean—the carpet needed vacuuming. (I noticed a small piece of red plastic wrapper that was there the day we arrived and in the same spot when we left two days later, among other debris.) The hotel parking garage was full, so we had to park in a low-ceilinged alternative lot in the alley with an impassable pothole at the entrance (we went in the out) where our SUV scraped the ceiling, then come in through the alley (with actual human feces outside) and into the bowels of the old building. It’s reminiscent of lipstick on a Motel 6. And it’s most certainly not worth $293.57 per night.

The only good thing is this hotel can walk over to shopping area, the hotel house keeping not so professional only cleaning and not filling up the stuff what we needs like - toilet paper, shampoo conditioner shower soap tissue box had to call down front desk to tell them sending up. And the room are very small

For some reason this hotels had an aversion to toilet paper. None in our room and none in the public restroom for 1 1/2 days

We got to the room and maintenance was in the room. We had to go back down and get a different room. The comcast streaming didn’t work. I called the front desk and they said they’d send someone; almost an hour later no one had shown up. Being later my son needed to go to bed so I called and told them just forgot it. The breakfast choices are all brown with a side of apples. All breads, oatmeal, or bland cereals which is very disappointing considering the price paid. There are stains all over the carpet. I also called and asked about a later checkout options. The lady at the front desk said they’d allow 11:30 complementary (additional 30 minutes) but anything after would be $45. I was asking because son had a Dr appointment at 2:15 so was hoping not to lug around our luggage for 3 hours before appointment. She did offer luggage check at front desk before she hung up on me which was nice.

Floors were soaked due to leakes, wall plugs didn’t work, lamps flickered at will. Bad breakfast spread. No windows. Excellent check in staff. Maids do not clean unfortunately.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not hRecommend I really wanted to like The Arcadian Hotel, but our experience left a lot to be desired. For starters, the bathroom was uncomfortable—the toilet was unusually low and we had no clean floor towels, so we ended up stepping onto a wet floor every time we got out of the shower. The room itself felt neglected. There was visible peeling paint, and when we needed assistance, the room phone didn’t work. We had to physically walk down to the front desk just to get help—completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. There were no real amenities offered, and to top it off, housekeeping knocked on our door well before check-out time, making us feel rushed to leave. Unfortunately, the hotel felt more like a budget motel than the boutique experience it advertises. Definitely not worth the money—we won’t be staying here again.

Upon checking in, I was given a room that had an odour of cigarettes. I then requested a room change the following day I mean following room also smelt poor. Overall, the cleanliness and smell of the hotel was bad.

The room was comfortable. The bed was good. The thermostat in the room was a little off. Hotel is nice overall and situated well for my needs

Physically, this is the strangest hotel where I have ever stayed. It is sort-of 3 types of hotel stuck together: Normal 6-story hotel; plus both a remodeled old motel and a set of townhouses, both inside of an upscale warehouse. Our first night was in an interior room in the old motel section, which was VERY dark, and which had a toilet of the right height for a kindergarten. The next morning I asked if all of the rooms had child-height toilets, and the staff offered to move us to a room with a standard toilet. The rest of the stay was in the normal part of the hotel, on the 6th floor. That was much more comfortable and had an exterior window so we knew when it was morning. The other peculiar thing about the hotel was the cleaning service. Our room was apparently in the end-of-the-day cleaning rotation, which was fine. But the two days when we were actually out at that time of day, so the room available for cleaning, only one of the two beds was made. The first time we wondered if they ran out of time, but when the SAME BED was left untouched again the next day, we were just plain confused. Both days, the only obvious change was that there were clean towels in the bathroom and the trash baskets were emptied -- the counters and work surfaces still had everything in place as we left it. The breakfast was excellent, the staff were very friendly, the Green Line location was perfect, and we loved the diversity of the guests.

The hotel had an updated look which was nice. We stayed in a “townhouse” room that had no mention of it being an interior room with a big window that overlooked the hallway! There were other room descriptions that mentioned it being “interior” with views of the lobby but the townhouse room had no mention of view. We were unable to open the shades at all or would have been seen by anyone in the halls which was most bothersome in the morning since it was very dark with no natural light. Aside from the lack of mentioning the townhouse view we felt the hotel was reasonably priced and in a great location with a green line stop just across the street! Would stay there again in a different room.

Wi-Fi did not work.

The day time check-in staff was nice and knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The breakfast service had a wide selection. The room was large and we had a nice view of the neighborhood.

It is in a nice area and convenient. The only downside is I had a room with an inside view, it looked out on the interior hallway.

Room was fine. Window faced into a hallway, not outside. Shower did not have a defining edge, the floor was sloped to the drain, but water went all over the bathroom floor. Included breakfast disappointing.

I love the location and the price so I'll stay here again. However, the shower handle broke off in my hand and didn't even work once I could get the handle back on. And when I told the front desk, they were completely apathetic about it and didn't offer any solution. I had to leave unshowered sadly. I have had plumbing issues before. THe bedrooms are very clean, but extremely basic, and note there are no exterior windows on the property. Windows only go to the interior of the hotel.

It’s a nice lobby and for us it was a convenient location. Our room had no windows and our kids’ room only had windows to the lobby. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The parking lot gets full and is pricey.

Excellent location, walkable to plenty of stores, restaurants, things to do, and public transportation. Service was great. Room was clean but showing wear and tear. I didn't realize we were getting an interior room with no natural light, so it was pretty dark all the time.

Hotel is attractive inside and out. Checked in at front desk with Ms. Jennifer who was friendly, very efficient and knowledgeable. I saw her handle everything from check-in, parking, housekeeping and luggage to assisting a customer open a bottle of wine. She is an outstanding employee!! Lobby was spacious with plenty of seating/lounging areas and all the natural light is great. Loved the style and decor. Breakfast was a BIG let down: not enough variety, too much bread stuff, nothing hot and the same stuff for 6 days. Watching ripe bananas put out every day as they turned browner was a turn off. Went to Dunkin Donuts instead. Plenty of space in 2 queen beds room with desk and nightstand but would have liked to have dresser also, so not living out of luggage for week. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows provided. Bathroom is a little tight between shower and toilet but otherwise good. Would like to have extra wall hooks on back wall to hang things and a small round stool in bathroom to set stuff on. Hotel in great location with train right outside to get everywhere and plenty of restaurants just a few blocks away. There are also a Trader Joes and CVS nearby.

The hotel oversold the rooms during our stay, and ran out of the room types we paid for our first booking, and the front desk claimed the manager would refund this stay. We are still waiting for it.

This is the email I wrote to the Arcadian Hotel: Moments ago at 3 AM, a security guard knocked on my door repeatedly, asking to see my ID to confirm if I still had one more night. While the guard himself was polite and professional, this was an extremely humiliating experience, especially since I had already explained the situation days earlier. Why would you have someone come to my doorstep at this time? You had all day to do it. You could've contacted my cell any part of the day and I would've answered. Two days prior, a manager came to my room, and I explained that we had switched rooms because the first one had blood on a towel (though all I asked for at the time was a clean towel, we were originally in TH210). Since then, I’ve told multiple staff members that our reservation was for four nights (August 15th–19th), yet I was still questioned in the middle of the night as if I wasn’t supposed to be here. To make matters worse, the second room came with its own issues, including a faulty AC unit that I had to call about twice before it was fixed. This combination of mistakes and miscommunication has made what should’ve been a relaxing vacation feel stressful and disappointing. Due to this inconvenience, I believe it’s only fair to be compensated with one or more nights refunded. At the very least, I don’t see why I should be expected to pay for my final night when I was treated as if I wasn’t welcome here.

I would have given this a better review but my check in experience was terrible. I was moved 3 rooms in less than 18 hours because my room type I had reserved as not available. They placed me in a room for the night to change the next day only to be placed in my room type without a working ac and I was told that’s what I would get. I refused to be placed in that room and waited in the lobby for over an hour for one I had booked with ac to become available. The staff didn’t seem to care and always confused about my reservation. The extra overflow parking is also down a back alley so make sure not to get there late because it felt like a very unsafe walk back to the hotel after dark. Had I not had these experiences it would have been a 3-4 star. It is super nice to get on the T and head to Fenway.

We had an incredible stay at The Arcadian Hotel in Brookline! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome—kind, helpful, and always friendly. A special shoutout to Alberto, the manager, who went above and beyond and quickly felt more like a friend than hotel staff. The level of hospitality here is unmatched, and the entire experience was unforgettable. We immensely enjoyed our time at The Arcadian and absolutely plan to stay again. Highly recommend!

Front desk staff wildly erratic from rude, belligerent to friendly. We weee charged extra fees at checkin which were supposedly refunded but hotel unable to provide receipts at check out. We were promised email receipts which did not come. Rooms okay. We were obliged to upgrade at checkin because first room faced inner hallways. No mention made of that in hotels.com options. Breakfast is assortment of muffins etc and not much else. Again unable to receive explanation of charges which were far in excess of what was reserved. No refunds on my credit card.

The hotel oversold rooms during this weekend, and ran out of the room type (Studio Suite) that we paid for. The front desk claimed that the manager would refund our 2nd booking, and we are still waiting for this refund.

Really liked this hotel. Great location on Beacon street with a stop on the Green line (C) just across the street. About a 20 minute walk to Fenway park, and in a neighborhood that feels very safe.

Great location and very nice modern hotel. Their continental breakfast was included and it was really good too. Very close to Harvard street, which is where there are a TON of food options. I would definitely stay here again.

Great restaurant options walking distance. Plus a Traders Joes. Tram system stops just outside the hotel.

A really good stay at the hotel Arcadian Brookline. It's in a nice suberb of Boston with easy access to downtown Boston by the green line tram service which stops outside the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a continental breakfast included. Overall a nice stay in a friendly hotel.

Staff was very accommodating and the location as perfect as we were right next to a T stop.

Cross the Greenline C station at S. Paul Str. Very convenient to the city. Also close to Harvard U, Boston U and nearby community with shops & restaurants at Carlton St.

Was looking for a place to stay during our Jays /Red Sox games that was walking distance to Fenway park plus close to the subway as we were flying into Logan International Airport. The Arcadian was perfect, green "C" line was right across from hotel. Walk was about 10/15 mins on beautiful Beacon street to Fenway. Hotel room was a little different then the big chains, small and no natural light windows but was clean and had a modern bathroom. We had an excellent stay and would come back here next time in Boston.

Perfect location and very nice hotel with friendly staff and a very comfortable room with all the amenities. The coffee and water available in the lobby all day was a nice touch. Only minor complaint is the breakfast- not enough space to sit during the busy hours and fairly mediocre food- and no cream cheese for the bagels! But plenty of places nearby (including Tatte) to pick up breakfast, and Brookline is just the loveliest.

This place was terrible. I highly advise against staying here unless you want an overpriced stay. The continental breakfast consisted of bread and cheese only. It wasn’t worth the cost at all.

The rooms are small, however everywhere was clean, the area was safe, excellent breakfast, great location...

Loved that the subway/trolley was right in front. Very easy to access. Breakfast was a big disappointment.

There was no fan in bathroom and mold on grout. Also none of the usb outlets worked on nightstand. Breakfast was very limited and though they advertise a bar, there is no bar.

The room was small but clean. I would rated higher if the continental breakfast was a better offering. It mostly consisted of bread, bagels and English muffins. There were no muffins or pastries, which is what you expect with a continental breakfast. Very disappointing.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. It was a very pleasant experience with a beautiful layout. I rated the hotel with 3 stars due to the $100 extra facility fee that was an additional cost that was not expected. Also the breakfast said it was a continental breakfast however it was just pastries, cereal and fruit. I have been to many hotels all hotels that include continental breakfast usually have eggs, hash browns, bacon etc. but I was sadly disappointed. So if you looked forward to breakfast having that stuff I would go with another hotel. I only booked this hotel because it was one of the only ones that had breakfast included so we can save some money on the trip. But along with the sad breakfast and the addition facility fee. I decided to give this hotel 3 stars. Other that that I enjoyed the experience and staff was friendly.
