Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Marlborough

Room is big and was very clean. One of the room keys did not work. Had to go to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. The door nearest our room would not open from the outside. It had an out of order sign on it all 4 nights we were there. On the last night neither of our cards worked on any of the exterior doors. Very inconvenient. Had to walk around to the front door and have cards reprogrammed again.

Dirty, run down, broken and smells of smoke. AC unit so loud and rattling I couldn’t run it while trying to sleep. Sink in bathroom cracked so bad it drips underneath. Tub so old a poor repairs that are falling apart and dirty…I wouldn’t even shower in there. Carpet filthy. Hall walls have what look like punch holes in the walls (poorly repaired). Pool broken and not accessible. Not staying there again.

Our bedsheets had hair on them. Our sink was dirty. There was something splattered on the wall. The pool was dirty and lot of dirt and hair floating on the very still pool. Back door by pur room that need a key card to get in woulsnt latch at all. We absolutely loved it last year, that's why we chose it even though it was a little further away from our destination.

Not enough parking

We loved our spacious, 2 bedroom suite. The pull-out sofa was uncomfortable and could use updating, but both beds were very soft and relaxing. We were sad to see that the netting around the basketball area was torn up, but very much enjoyed using a grill for dinner one night. Parking was convenient with many exterior (but safely locked) doors to enter. We were excited about the indoor pool, but couldn't stay in long because it was just too cold - maybe the heater was broken or not in use for the summer? Front desk, housekeeping and the people who kept the breakfast area stocked were all kind and helpful. But the highlight for my daughter was making her own waffles each morning!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and spacious with kitchen facilities. Target was nearby for convenient grocery shopping. I had checked in online and asked for housekeeping every other day (we stayed 3 nights). We also put the card on the door indicating the room was ready for them to come in. Housekeeping didn’t come, so I had to go down and request more towels. The fitness room had poor air conditioning and was hot to exercise in. The shower to use before entering the pool had hair which needed to be cleaned out of the drain. Despite those things, we would stay here again because the room was excellent and very comfortable.

Indoor pool was great and nicely warm, the outside basketball area was very clean and well-kept, and it had ample parking and several entrance doors to make it easy for in and out. Plus the room was huge and comfortable.

The furniture was old, torn and stained. The service was okay, but not great. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The bed was comfortable, but one of the pillows smelled like sweat. We were happy to have the two bedrooms and bathrooms, but other than that I will not stay here again.

The property is quite dirty and in disrepair inside and out. Will not stay at the same location on next trip.

We walked into our room and the smell was awful. Like mold maybe. It was so run down. The bathroom door wouldn't close and when it did the towel holder fell off the wall. The couch was sunk in the middle so you had to sit lopsided. We changed room. The second was much clearer and didn't smell but the couch was still broken. Doors had pieces filled off. The refrigerator had dents in it. Only plus was the the bed was comfortable.

Very clean from outside to inside. The rooms always A1 ! The staff is so friendly , feels like a family based hotel.

The property looks okay but the rooms are smelly and beat up. The pullout bed was broken. The room had a stench that wouldnt dissipate even after leaving the windows open. It needs real updating.

This room was filthy. Sofa cushions sagged. And stained. Pull out bed had a thread bare mattress pad and was stained. Mattress itself was stained with a variety of fluids. Bathroom tub was peeling. Items in kitchen cabinets left behind by who knows? Blanket had rags from laundry stuck to them. Marriott name once meant quality. I looked at one other room the only other room available. Apparently it was an accessible room. The roll in shower was covered in mold. This is 100% unacceptable

Close to highways and shopping. Quiet and clean.

It was so very pleasant to find this spacious room after a long drive in the car!

The hotel stay was terrible. The pull out couch that was advertised as suitable for sleeping was not. There are more comfortable beds in prison. When I complained I was sent to the fourth floor to retrieve a portable bed that, as the clerk said, “might be thicker”. Both mattresses were an inch thick. I would up sleeping on the floor. Marriott should be ashamed. Orbitz should be ashamed for taking my 177 dollars and advertising the room as having a pull out couch suitable for sleeping.

Architects should be obligated to sleep for a month in the hotels they design. This Residence Inn places the Air Conditioning unit right next to the bed, and the noise makes it very difficult to sleep. Only the ground floor rooms have an external AC. The caulking around the edges of the bathtub is very carelessly applied, with gaps and mold that the maids don’t clean.

Wow! That was my first thought when I entered the room. Spacious, Kitchenette with amenities, living room area, bedroom and separate bathroom and shower. Clean. There was some highway noise but it was not an issue. Excellent TV menu, however the Wi-Fi was not strong enough to run the well thought of Netflix or YouTube from your own account. Buffet breakfast was OK.

Room was nice and breakfast was good. The room was very noisy air conditioner was loud for a small room.

The furniture in the room needs some updating. The beds were comfortable.

Employees were great, always smiling, and very accommodating. The room was clean but it looked like someone had a rage fit in that room at one time. The fridge had a lot of dents like it was hit multiple times, fixtures like the toilet paper holders and mirrors were loose like someone ripped them off the walls and tried to poorly reattach them. The tub was cracked around the faucet and overfill plate and was siliconed back together. Our biggest complaint, however, was that the walls and floors are paper thin. We could hear people upstairs as well as down the hall. It sounded like the circus with all the animals rented the room above us. It was very nice having 2 BR's, but Residence Inn in Marlborough would not be our first choice again. It will do in a pinch.

Our room was clean but the furniture was very worn (lots of scuff marks ) and the covering on the stools in the kitchen area was peeled off. One of the fronts of a drawer in the kitchen fell off when I touched it. The walls in the bathroom were peeling. We had no hot water on our last morning. When we went to breakfast we told the associate at the front desk. The response was “ We have a boiler problem.” I understand things happen but a message on the room phone would have been nice to know this before turning on the water.

Dated facility. The most of outlets aren’t functioning.

The hotel over booked and my reservation was canceled. They had to move us to another hotel even though I booked the reservation months ago! Not happy with the last minute cancellation.

The hotel is old and worn. Our room was not cleaned for four days even though we were told they clean every other day. The front desk promised to have our room cleaned and it still wasn’t done. There are many other newer hotel nearby.

Staff was very helpful. My wife and I are both handicapped, and the front desk employee was very helpful in assisting us in getting to our room, and helping with our luggage. One negative: the entry/exit door to the hallway closest to our room was broken and it would have been much easier for us to ambulate from our car to our room if that door was accessible.

Location is great, breakfast was good. A couple of issues, Door stuck to our room, had to really push to open, TV internet went out one morning. could not watch any TV. check in was slow because desk clerk was on phone with customer.

This property is very run down and the staff at the front desk like to hide and play on their phones. I waited almost 10 minutes for a front desk staff member to check me because he was in the back room playing on his phone. Our room was awful. The closest shelves were hanging off the wall and unusable, the dresser was missing drawers, the counter tops had stuck on food, there were random boxes of hardwood flooring throughout our room that the kids could have hurt themselves on, the tub was rusted and missing the drain, and our room never had towels. I had to go to front desk to request towels. There was also no breakfast available even though the hotel is advertised as "Breakfast included."

Property turned us away despite having a valid booking. They had overbooked and their only suggestion was to go to a different Marriott property that was under construction, had smaller rooms, and none of the amenities of the first. The second hotel tried to charge us more when we arrived.

I was staying here with my 10 year old son and felt completely safe. The staff helped me out with dining suggestions and advice regarding the subway system. They were wonderful! The facility was clean and breakfast was fantastic. Thank you!!

The mgmt went above and beyond with kindness after Expedia messed up my reservation! They eventually found a room for me even though they were sold out!! I can’t say enough about how wonderful they were to me !

Staff are nice and considerate, one of our team member was sick. We asked for late check out, and front desk staff accommodate us.

Clean but starting to show wear and tear. Time to get ahead of it. No restaurants walkable.

2 minutes from a shopping Mall & Olive Garden. A really nice place, but getting rin down....could use quite a bit of maintenance, upkeep & up to date decor.

Greta location

The property was located perfectly for me because of its proximity to a family member I was visiting. It’s directly across from a hockey arena so it would be perfect for anyone attending something there. Other than that there isn’t anything else close to it. The breakfast was decent, service was kept clean and that was nice. The staff put me on the bottom floor which I didn’t like and asked to be moved but she said she couldn’t accommodate me, I was there 9 days. All in all a decent place to stay.

Breakfast was pretty good as these things go. The eggs tasted like eggs (not plastic bag) and the orange juice wasn't diluted.

The breakfast options were notable. The food was freshly made and the food was like being at home. The staff were continually filling trays and making coffee. They were really sweet.

TV in one room not working. Fake fire place not working. Some broken drawers. Outside noises. Very dated. Comfortable beds. Great full breakfast, fully stocked.

Breakfast is not good. There are not many options and quality is poor.

Room furniture and rug were stained and dirty. Paint was chipping, couch was ripped. Breakfast was disgusting.

We had a great stay. Wonderful staff, very nice breakfast, good workout room. One thing: the pull-out bed could have been more comfortable. Otherwise the room was very nice, and we appreciated the accessibility efforts. Much better than most other places!

We checked in after 5pm, swiping $20 incidental deposit with my credit card. Our room had been paid before arrival. *The room did not have any open view but faces the clapboard wall several feet away. * The room temperature didn't remain stable. So we opened the window but the exhaust vent outlet made lots of noise and no fresh air came in. This is mid Feb 2023, with 50+F. The room temperature kept going up to 73F at the thermostat but it felt like 80-82F with excessive fan blowing. We switched to AC at 70F but it became lower at 68F. And the air blew too cold to the bed overnight. That woke me up several times. And I couldn't fall back to sleep. * We found out the TV had a very poor muffled BASS sound to wake up the other spouse at vol 5. * The building staircase next to our room was unlocked and left unsupervised. The area had lots of plastering stains and debris on carpeted steps mixed with excessive de-ice salt with an obvious pipe damage from the ceiling. This was a big mess. The breakfast room next morning at 8 am was poorly monitored and the melon was gone sour, the scrambled eggs were all gone. A single white toast bread and 2 boiled eggs were left and just several hams floating in the greasy oil. No restocking. Breakfast area was tight with guests crowding with loud young children in and out without their parents or staff clearing their tables. *During check out, I was told $20 was used in snacks at 10:46pm, misdirecting our deposit. Not us. Out for dinner.
