At check in, there was a problem finding my prepaid reservation, (booked through a third party app), but the manager, Donna, kept looking until she found it. She was wonderful! All of the staff at this hotel was GREAT! A+ for that! The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. There was ample self parking, and a tasty breakfast. The room fridge seemed bigger than most, which is also a nice plus. A big part of how I choose a hotel is based on a pool and a hot tub, especially since we were there to do a 5K. When I booked 4 months ago, both were listed. Our events were in VA & DC, a 45 & 30 minute drive, but the price was right, and the amenities were there. When we checked in, the pool was closed until further notice, but the hot tub was still working. Ok, that’s the important one. Walk our race, step into the water, turn the button, annnd….womp, womp. Nothing. Told the front desk, but it didn’t get fixed that day. Luckily, the water in the shower was nice and hot, as that was the only way I had to relieve my sore muscles. If you’re looking for a good, reasonably priced hotel, and don’t mind a bit of a drive into the city, this is the place for you.

We were not informed that the pool was under renovation until after we arrived, which was unfortunate. The tv in our room didn’t seem to work, or, it only had one channel. The hotel has modified cleaning protocols, but on the one day where our room was cleaned, the staff member only made one of the two beds, when it was clear that both were used. Finally, the ice machine on our floor was broken for the duration of our stay, which meant that we had to check the other floors if we wanted ice.

Okay, so I picked this hotel because it had a restaurant and it was going to be a long day and I didn't want to go out. After booking I got a message saying that the restaurant was closed and under renovation. Thankfully there is a Friday's restaurant within a short walk and the people there are quite friendly. The hot water in the morning didn't go hot (perhaps because of the renovations) after running it for quite some time, so a cold shower. They'd made a big deal about providing a packed breakfast in the morning (they provided a printed sheet about it) because the restaurant was closed. It was supposed to be available from 6 am, I went down around 6:35 am to leave, no packed breakfasts in sight. Perhaps it was aspirational on their part, but the breakfast was an absolute myth. The coffee machines in the room provided half descent coffee.

The property was very clean inside despite all the construction. They were sneaky about the gym being closed. They didn't mention when we checked in. Parking in the rear looked very shady. There was broken glass in the rear parking lot. Service staff didn't really care about not having all the amenities they advertised. Breakfast is lacking big-time. Very limited variety.

This hotel is under renovation so I didn’t expect all to be spotless. When I checked in I was informed that they were taking a $200 deposit and that parking in the outside front lot now cost $15 per day. I’ve never had a hotel actually take a deposit. They do take a credit card for incidentals but not an amount being held. The parking was not explained well to me. I assumed they would charge me from the deposit. When I went to my car the next morning, I had a citation for not being registered. When I paid it, instead they charged me $33. I learned that was a penalty for not paying the night before. When I paid for last night they charged me double to rate. When I went to the desk, they told me they don’t monitor the parking, an outside company does and they couldn’t help me with the overcharge amount. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. I won’t be staying again.

Pretty nice property. However, the pet fee is NOT $50 like it states on Expedia. It was $75. Also, the pool is out of service so we weren’t able to enjoy that. The jacuzzi was working, but it wasn’t clean. The water was brown-ish. Great hospitality and front desk service.

Overall nice hotel with very friendly staff. But on our last night we noticed an ant in the bed. We checked the entire room after and thought nothing of it, but the next morning there were a few in the bathroom and a spider. Rooms could have been cleaner

Feel more like low cost hotel. Smells I can't identify. Sticky table and nightstand surface. Carpet and bed cover has stains. The good things are, free water, fast wifi, free parking, spacious room and bathroom, many power outlets, bathtub drains fast.

There were not just one, but two mice in the room whee I stayed. I really don't want to experience the attitude of simply changing the room without even a single word of apology. That night, my wife and I had to deal with the chaos of moving our luggages to another room, and throughout this ordeal, the hotel staff on duty didn't even ask if everything was okay. It was a truly terrible experience.

After we settled into our room a mouse ran behind the dresser. It came back out then ran back when I yelled. I called to get a new room which was done. After the call I noted mouse trap boxes behind the refrigerater cabinet as well as on either side of the windows, behind the drapes. I am terrified of mice and contacted Hilton Gardens to notify them and request a refund. Still no response from them after 2 weeks. Will not stay there again.

Check in experience wasn't great. Clerk ignored me for several minutes. Then someone walked up in front of me and was helped. Not a great way to kick off the stay. Overall, the room was clean but somewhat worn. Table/nightstand don’t look great. Water spots on the ceiling on the bathroom. Plenty of decent towels and amenities in the room.

We were looking for a relaxing overnight stay as we traveled through Maryland. We arrived at about 7 pm. Our room was directly above the banquet room in which a very loud and boisterous event was being held. Finally at 10 pm, the noise stopped. 8 a m the next morning the event as well as the noise continued. The inconvenience could have very easily been avoided by booking the rooms that would be bothered by noise to those who were attending the event. When I brought the problem to the attention of the management, I was told they have no idea who was going to be attending the event. Anyone who knows anything about the hospitality industry, knows that when an event is booked, a block of rooms are also made available. The hotel room was great as far as furniture and cleanliness, customer service is awful. Will not be staying again at this location!

Lobby area is way better than the rooms, which were old, tired, smelly, not very clean, and almost devoid of decor. Couch looked like it had skid marks on the cushions in multiple places, and the pull out couch bed was so uncomfortable, I wouldn't put my worst enemy in it. I think this hotel is run by a third party that cuts corners.

We went here to allow the grandkids to enjoy the pool. They enjoyed the hot tub, but the pool was not heated and too cold to swim in. Additionally, the phones didn't work, and we couldn't connect to the internet. We had a nice breakfast, and the room was very comfortable. Overall, it was a good stay.

Only one person at the front desk was friendly, the one on our last night. Otherwise they were very unfriendly. We had to wait until 5pm for our room to be ready. In one of our rooms, the shower was so slippery my dad almost fell. The doors closing are so loud it woke us up several times each night.

The TV didn't work in the initial room. It took 45 min for someone to come to the room to try and fix it. We were given a new room right beside ours, which was convenient, but it took too long. Our toilet clogged and when we called the front desk we were told nobody was on duty and that we could come down to the front desk and get a plunger. Apparently, when you stay here you actually become an employee.

Upon arrival at the front desk Reginald was assisting with the check in and I must say his attitude stinks and his customer service is terrible. And as someone who works in the travel industry I must say his service nd behavior was unacceptable. As long as I’m traveling I’d rather not stay here if I know I have to deal with him as the front desk agent.

I would especially like to thank Shafaa and Krunal for helping us with our arrival. Our flight was delayed 6 hours and we couldn’t check in until 5:00 a.m. the next morning. They made adjustments to our reservation because of the inconvenience and made sure we had a room that was ready for us when we arrived. We had a great experience and are grateful for such a wonderful staff.

The staff is so welcoming. I felt like I was welcomed home. I arrived pretty early, about 11am and was scared that a room wouldn't be ready but it was!!! I truly appreciate a microwave and fridge being in the room. The shower pressure is immaculate, I did not want to come out. The room was very clean. The hotel is quiet and I love my peace. I ordered Popeyes and it was brought right to my room door. Amazing all around!!! Thank you

Convenient location if you don’t want to spend the extra money to stay in DC. Some interesting tourist spots nearby like NASA Goddard Visitor Center. Nothing fancy, but nice to not have to worry about paying for parking etc.

Check in was difficult. The clerk manning the desk could not find my reservation, despite the fact that one of the two people had already checked in. And I made the reservation. When shown evidence of the booking, to include the reservation number, the clerk remained perplexed. This was aggravating and unnecessary. There was NO breakfast, despite the fact that I booked expecting breakfast included. The Hilton Garden Inn further insulted its guests by requiring a $15 per night charge for parking. There was no security, even cameras (I looked for them), and we were further insulted by the hotel's telling us they are not responsible for damages in the parking lot. Hot water and water pressure was a real problem as well. Very disappointing!!

Hotel.com web site charged me $20 for breakfast. Hotel said that they serve breakfast only on Sundays. Besides money this was extremely inconvenient. Because of my medical conditions i have to eat early morning. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. No exercise/pool either.

Would have liked an extra blanket. Great heating/ac. As we like a cold bedroom to sleep would have been nice to have a heating option for the bathroom; however the room heated back up quickly. Unfortunately the toilet stopped flushing properly during the night, but we reported it when we checked out so they could fix it promptly. Great breakfast option on premises. Our server was excellent. The food was very tasty.

Spa out of order. Up charges on breakfast buffet. Bathroom drain didn’t work. TV didn’t work. Indifferent staff and Manager. I wouldn’t stay there again. I tried escalating complaints during my stay to Corporate to no avail. Definitely a one star property

I’ve stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn many times. It remains a good stay, but it’s more of a Holiday Inn Express now than it was in the past. Dated, but very clean and has what you want and need. the staff were efficient. There were a lot of families booked this stay and it was quiet and all were well-behaved. Friendly atmosphere. The restaurant and buffet breakfast are no longer worth it in quality and cost, but convenient. So is grub hub. Definitely recommend for a no frills, solid stay in a great location for travelers off the highway, visiting DC or Univ of Maryland, NASA, or the other gov agencies nearby.
