Microtel Inn and Suites - Salisbury

We stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Ocean cityand their beaches. It is much cheaper to stay here instead of Ocean city area. It is only about 30 mins drive and you save alot of money comparing to same hotel in Ocean city. The room was nice, not the biggest but clean. It was thin walls so you could hear neighbors. But it didn’t bother us much anyway. Free wifi, worked well, free parking in safe area and breakfast included. It worked to fill you up for a start.

I was traveling for an important business meeting and I needed to iron my dress. There was no iron or ironing board in my room and when I inquired at the desk I was told there were 2 irons in the building, but she couldn't locate either one. This is ridiculous!!! When people travel their clothes get wrinkled, whether it is for business, a special occasion, or just a visit with friends, you should always be able to iron your clothes!!! The room had clearly been remodeled. Some of the touches were nice and modern, but the workmanship was poor quality. The side of the sink was warped, there were issues with the tile, etc. There was a filthy, yellowed-from-age, corded phone from the 1990s on the bedside table that no one will ever want to touch or need to use, but NO IRON! The reviews I read said that the A/C unit was loud. Being a heavy sleeper I didn't worry about it....until it woke me at 3am when it roared! It was the loudest A/C unit I have ever heard! The breakfast was nice. A good selection of different breakfast staples and treats. Ample parking; easy access to the highway.

The property is in good shape. The one staff I met at the front desk was nice. The area is pretty quiet and seems relatively safe. Plenty of on site parking. I like the choice of vinyl plank floors instead of carpet, which can hold smells and dirt. The room was pretty comfortable and the bed was nice. I would have liked for there to be mattress covers on the bed. I pulled back the sheets to inspect the mattress, which was stained with who knows what. Refrigerator and microwave in the room was appreciated. No ironing board or closet… ended up not being a big deal. My biggest concern was with housekeeping. The room really needed sweeping and dusting. There were long, straight, black hairs on one of the queen beds (not used) and in the shower. The shower walls showed old dirt, soap splatter and just wasn’t great. There were also a couple stains on the walls of the room, which were large enough that the housekeepers should notice and clean. It just seems like there’s not a lot of attention to detail with cleaning. Pretty okay for just my one night stay, but probably will look for other options on my next stay.

Very clean, easy to find parking, friendly staff, good breakfast, wifi, and was located right off hwy50. Will book again if I'm in the area.

Good location and price for what we needed to do. I liked the room with the exception that there was no storage as in no closet and no drawers. Also, no iron or blow dryer. We did like that there is a fridge and microwave. Beds were comfortable. Free breakfast was decent.

Had to move rooms, water in shower would not heat up. Small gym had no ac and was very warm. The staff did not know how to turn on the ac unit. Otherwise a fine, mid level hotel. The beds are comfortable and the free breakfast is a nice amenity.

We had a nice experience here. The rooms were clean, our floor was quiet, the breakfast was good and the staff was nice. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a iron in the rooms. If you booked more than one room you would have to get a iron from the front desk and share it with the other rooms you booked

Property was not in the best condition. Gym was dirty. Room was so-so. Beds were clean and comfortable best part of the hotel. Breakfast was good. Room hair dryer didn’t work properly. Overall I would not recommend or stay at this property again. Staff was very friendly and kind.

Elevator stopped working at two different stays. Once in April and again in May

The beds were very comfortable! The elevator was an issue for the first and second day it stopped working randomly and we had to use the stairs. Other than that it was a good hotel I’d definitely stay at again

We stayed one night 9/9-9/10. Check-in was uneventful & front desk attendant was neither friendly or rude. Queen room was small, but bed comfortable & tv worked. Positives - ac was cold & shower hot with good pressure Negatives - the mirror in bathroom was broken, mystery stains on bathroom wall & the biggest of all - THERE WAS FOOD IN THE REFRIGERATOR FROM A PREVIOUS GUEST Once I saw that, I was suspect of anything else being clean in the room.

Everything was fine with the check in. We got to the hotel at 1am and went straight to bed. Once there was a horrible odor in the bed and then my started to get wet. Someone had urinated in the bed previously and it was either not noticed or the bed was just made without putting on clean sheets, and it was not properly cleaned. It was the last room they had and it was a handicap room. My wife got up immediately and took a shower and found that the shower was terribly unclean. Then after their inspection blamed my wife for urinating in the bed. Terrible clealiness. and all her clothes smelld like urine. To blame the person who turned it in is just not good business practice at all, when she in fact did not do it, just shameful to think they would blame her. .

What stood out was that the room was so much nicer than the room we stayed at Quality Inn 2 weeks earlier. Very Clean, everything in good working order. Staff was friendly.

Trash found under the sink in the bathroom made us feel as if the room hadn’t been sanitized properly. Also hotel was just finishing up renovations so there were still some construction items in the lobby. Renovations did make the hotel much more presentable. Overall it was a decent place to sleep for the night.

This is my go to hotel when coming to Salisbury Univ. Clerks are always pleasant, rooms are clean, it’s quiet, and breakfast was nice. The only con is there are no drawers or a closet to put Clothes if staying for a few days. There are hangars on hooks but no dresser. A big pro is the water pressure in the shower! There’s an old cemetery adjacent to the hotel that’s very interesting.

The hotel is a mini version of a hotel. The condition of the hotel was satisfactory. The room was fine but the toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall.

Minimalist look great. Could hear our neighbor from above till 11 pm.

Do not recommend for a family or someone with littles as they only have showers, no tub. Also the rooms are very small, no closets as well.

Although the planners did a great job fitting all that was needed in the rooms, it felt like a tiny house and was a bit tight for me. I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying in the room for any amount of time. Otherwise, everything was great.

I was given a room with a broken window and stink bugs dead in the room, when I told the woman at the desk about the window, she said, yeah, I wish they’d fix that, others have complained! Why put people in it then??? It wasn’t a crowded hotel! I won’t stay at a microtel again.

Very thin walls......could hear anything and everything if people were being loud in the room...breakfast was nice but walls are so thin

The room was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bathroom sink had no room to put your toiletries on. The free breakfast was fair.

The front desk staff was very nice and check in was a breeze! The room was perfect! Very clean. I would highly recommend staying here. I will definitely stay here when I am back in Salisbury!

This is our second stay. Megan who checked us in last week was awesome . We had a few concerns and her customer service was top notch! Tonight Renee was at the front desk. She was absolutely delightful. Very helpful in helping us find a restaurant that delivered. The cleaning staff helped me with my luggage as my husband has a handicap. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable. Overall a positive experience.

Lady that checked us in around 9 PM on Friday may second wasn’t very friendly or cordial.

The hotel didn't have our reservation because they never received an email from Orbitz! So had to pay for another room!!!

Actually staff was very helpful and courteous, except for the check-in agent. She told me we would not be able to enter the 2nd room we had booked and paid for on my credit card. The reason? I had listed my wife's sister Marie as one of the two occupants of the 2nd room. Marie could not make the trip, so we brought another sister in her place. The attendant looked at me blankly and said only Marie could be checked in, no changes were possible. Fortunately another agent overheard the conversation and told the first agent to just change the name. I can only put this in one category -- total lack of courtesy and respect for your customers!

This is definitely my favorite hotel in Salisbury. The staff is excellent the rooms are nice. Housekeeping is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast variety is awesome. I love this hotel.

I reserved a room through a third party, but when I arrived, the hotel standard was to add another $100 to the bill as a hold. So I had to allow them to add it to my room bill or I wouldn’t be able to get a room. Very confusing and misleading. The front desk person told me verbally that the money will be back on my card as soon as I checked out. But, the paperwork I had to sign said 5-6 business days. It was a Friday evening, so I won’t really get my money back until the following week.

Friendly staff, very clean

The area was in a quiet and convenient area. I appreciate that we were allowed to check in at 11:30am because we attended a welding that started at 2pm. Checking in early allowed my husband and I to change into our clothes that we were wearing to the wedding.

The staff and the room was amazing the overall of the hotel was awesome the only reason I give it a bad review was the fact that I was charged a extra $184.05 that i had to call the front desk after I had went to the front desk trying to get the charge drop

Traveled to see daughter at university. Great location. Close to zoo as well. Got to visit Zoo as well and that’s a treat. Great restful experience.

Came for a wedding and it was a great location. Central to everything -- had all the basic needs that I needed for a pleasant stay.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Not a super fancy hotel, but good enough for our overnight stay. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping and about 10 minutes from Salisbury University.

Clean, quiet facility. Close to EVERYTHING so great food options. Set far back enough that it doesn't feel like it right on the highway.

The stay was enjoyable. We did miss not being able to watch the O’s game. Breakfast was good..

Reservation Debacle from Housekeeping Staff issue. Pros: Personnel like Ms. Toya Mitchell who provide exceptional guest service. Hot breakfast that included eggs and waffles every morning. Elevator. A clean room and comfortable bed. Accessible bathroom with a wide door opening, interior space to accommodate a wheelchair, ADA compliant elongated toilet, and an adequate number of grab bars. High speed internet connection. Small In room refrigerator and microwave. A washer and dryer for customer use on the second floor. Cons: No covered unloading area. No exterior automatic opening doors for disabled guests in a wheelchair. Bed mattress high off the floor making it difficult for a disabled senior person to get into (I had to use a step stool with help from my wife). No blanket provided unless requested (sheet and thin, see-through “comforter” provided). Imitation laminated wood and tile flooring that was extremely slippery when wet, especially in the bathroom where my wife almost fell and I nearly knocked out the sliding glass shower door when I too slipped. Cracked room window. Excessive gap between raised floor transition strip between room and bathroom (I cut my toe on it). No closet or chest of drawers (limited hanger space provided on wall on either side of wall mounted flat screen TV and a luggage rack to “live out of your suitcase”). Single ice-making machine located on first floor (our room was on the third floor). Under sink plumbing cover left off and laying in floor.

This Hotel passed my wife’s stringent tests regarding cleanliness! Service was good. A full breakfast although fried eggs could be improved. Rather solid.

walking distance to medical building we had family member recouping at. Quiet area, we felt safe going for walks in the area. Staff was very friendly. Morning breakfast had a lot of options every day.
