Unusual indoor/outdoor pool, where I could swim outside in October with 65 degree weather. Pool very warm which a lot of main stream hotels are afraid to turn up the heat. Was in pool for an hour. Clean rooms comfortable beds, friendly staff. I will be coming back for a weekend getaway?

This hotel was NOT worth the money. Our key cards wouldnt work. The back entrance was propped open with a stick bc the key fab didnt work to let you into the building. So anyone could just walk in. The faucet in the bathroom was loose so couldnt change from hot to cold. The ironing board was broken. Just overall not great.

I plan on returning to this motel. The swimming pool is outside and inside, it's connected together. You can go from inside to outside and back inside. Breakfast was average, customer service was great and room was nice.

Once again our key cards didn't work in the outside door and also out room lock. Keys were remade and still didn't work. A staff member had to meet me at the outside door and he had issues with it also. We go here twice a month and we have had this issue almost every time we get a room here

when arrived lady at desk didn’t say anything waited about 10 mins and another lady came. pool looked dirty. my room was dusty the shower had bar of soap in the drain part. coffee machine dirty and very old. i thought it said room device there was no room service. breakfast very few items. the best part was when checked out

The room was indeed spotless and beautifully maintained as was the whole facility. A very appealing lounge/hearth in the entrance lobby. The young lady manning the desk was very competent and pleasant. Breakfast was more than "continental", with much to choose from! I really wished I had planned to stay a few nights so I could have better enjoyed the excellent atmosphere.

The staff members I interacted with were superb. The cleanliness of my room. I’ll give a 6 out of 10. The bathroom cleanliness is a 4. The toilet was terrible from the hard water. The cleaning staff needs to use a little elbow grease. the ceramic floors were dirty. I purchased cleaning products to clean the bathroom and wipe down things that were not. The room stunk of something really spicy. I was there for 4 days. There were two unopened coffee packages on the floor behind the little fridge, who knows how long they were there.

BED BUGS--DO NOT STAY HERE! Came here with my family to stay and after settling in, I saw a LARGE bed bug crawling on the bed near my feet. This place obvi isn't the fanciest and we knew this, but there has to be a BAD infestation with seeing them this size..not sure how housekeeping hasn't noticed and/or addressed it but I am completely and utterly disgusted. We changed out of our clothes we got into bed with and left them all behind so we don't risk bringing the bugs back to our home! So not only did we lose money from the booking but also leaving our belongings behind and not to mention a HUGE inconvenience to have to pick up and leave at 10:30 pm unexpectedly. I will never return to this place and I will make sure all of Adrian and the surrounding areas know to STAY AWAY. Wish I could give zero stars, oh and it was room 122 we were in!

This is the second time that we have stayed here we are from out of state we decided to give them a second chance. We checked in on a Friday night and they charged our bank account twice we didn't end up getting our money back until Monday so we went all weekend with very little funds in Michigan we were there for a funeral. We are originally from Adrian and the hotel used to be a wonderful place to stay it was so dirty and they do have cockroaches we had to leave all of our belongings in our barn when we got back home for a week. I would never suggest this hotel nor will we ever go back

Room was clean but are in need of being updated. The bed creaked when moving which was disappointing when turning over at night. The breakfast was pretty solid as opposed to reviews I had read as people stated the eggs weren’t real eggs but I can verify that they use real eggs as I watched the person manning the kitchen crack open several eggs and last time I checked, eggs from a box don’t come in shells. The biscuits and gravy was my go to though. Lastly, the staff was very friendly upon checking in and having the free breakfast.

The property was nice, the staff friendly and accommodating…especially the gentleman running the breakfast. If I had only one critique, it would be that the air conditioning, in the room, had not been turned on prior to our check-in, so the room was fairly warm for a summer day. Once we turned the AC on, the room cooled nicely. I understand the cost management benefit of not cooling unoccupied rooms, but it may be advisable to have housekeeping turn it on in reserved rooms ahead of guest arrival.

Hotel needs a face lift. Rooms are very dated although spacious. Bathrooms are very old. Breakfast is mediocre and TV with its arcane system of channels and no channel guide needs to be changed to something usable. Staff very nice.

I was put on 2nd floor and I didn’t realize they didn’t have an elevator which I needed.When I asked if they had a room available on the first floor because I couldn’t use stairs, after they checked they said no. They offered to call another local motel, which they did and told that motel my name to reserve it. When I was leaving walking down the hallway I noticed housekeeping was cleaning a room on first floor. I went back to front desk and asked if I could wait for the room to be cleaned. They said that person hadn’t turned in that the room was cleaned and he was on overtime. In other words/ they did not care about my need. I went back and asked the worker if he would stay and clean the room and he was more than accommodating to my request! I went back to front desk and told them this. There were 3 workers there-2 sitting on their butt with little concern for my dilemma. They acted as if I was bothering them. The only reason I was able to stay there was because of a caring cleaning person- NOT THE 3 DESK STAFF! Will not recommend because of them. I only stayed there because it was 9:00 at night and had my 86 year old mother with me and we had already unloaded our stuff. Shame on the 2 women at the desk and a huge THANK YOU to the housekeeper ( who got a $50 tip from me)

We came for a weekend away from our kids and we brought our fire stick to watch Netflix and the tv wouldn’t work with the input so we told the front desk and they were so accommodating they moved us to another room which we weren’t expecting. The breakfast was great and it’s in a great location to so many things. Definitely will be staying again!!

Understanding it's a busy event weekend, you'd think they'd have more staffing to get to the rooms in a timely manner to be cleaned upon check in. It took us over 2 hours after the check-in time to get in our room. Luckily we are patient people, but I can't say the same for the number of other guests waiting with along side us. Rooms are at least clean and beds pretty decent. The staff was welcoming and big props to one of the staffers who was running around like mad to get the rooms clean.

We'd never stay here again. The jacuzzi tube's faucet leaked steadily all night. We didn't sleep well. When we asked for another room, the women at the front desk just stared at us like we just needed to deal with it. I asked her to contact management and never heard back from her after she said she'd get back to me. I guess all rooms were booked.

We basically just slept in the room and were not in the hotel very long . The exterior grounds are in bad shape , the interior was a bit worn but for the price it's worth the vices . The bed was extremely comfortable ! We stay to see plays at The Crosewell Opera House instead of driving home after the play .

I stay here often. It’s older but very clean! Large isolated property sits far off the road with no neighboring businesses or adjoining parking lots. Very safe and very quiet. Free breakfast is not just bagels and cereal. Great breakfast! Clean dining room that is not in the lobby. This is a great deal for the price!! I always stay here when I come to Adrian.

Checkin was a breeze. Clerk was friendly and efficient. The lobby had a large fireplace and a sitting area. There was a good sized snack area. I did not like that the pool was right in the middle with glass walls. Everyone coming to checkin sees you. Though, the pool was busy, I guess those guests did not have a problem with the people watching. Dining area was big. Breakfast was basic, but food was hot and tasty. The room was clean, warm and had everything that you needed. The bed was firm. I like it a bit softer. I loved all of the pillows though. We walked over to the Convenience store. Wendy's is just down the road. The price was good. It was a nice place to stay.

Great place for the price. Staff were all very friendly. This is an older place but lobby, dining area, hallways are immaculately clean. The place even smells clean! No smell of smoke or any other unpleasant odors anywhere including in my room. Can’t beat it. The hotel sits back a away from the road on a large grassy property away from any other businesses, parking lots etc. I felt very safe. Will definitely stay there from now on when in Adrian.

I loved how close it was to where I was going, and I found the staff to be very friendly and the room to be very nice. I did see quite a bit of garbage in the parking lot & flower beds but I'm not certain that's the staff's fault so much as the fault of some previous guests. It had been very cold, so I don't think the staff thought to check.

For a low cost option there was nothing to complain about. It met my expectations. Yes it’s dated. Yes it isn’t perfectly clean in bathrooms because it’s just old … but the room was spacious, the heat worked fine and nice sized fridge, microwave. Perfect for one night economical stay close to Adrian College.

Carlton Lodge is a good place. No elevator makes it hard for elderly to haul their luggage upstairs .could have a full breakfast instead of continental. No bathroom exhaust fans.
