Rooms are clean but hotel is old and smells bad. Aircon is really noisy, need to turn it off for sleeping. Breakfast is included so no complain. A free shuttle to Downtown is available on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4pm to 12am, very convenient.

AC in the room smelled strongly of mold/mildew when running (room319). Dirty bathroom towels were left hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Ice machine on 3rd floor didnt work. Elevator was broke. Bring ear plugs because you can hear fireworks from Tigers stadium and all the street noise on the 3rd floor Front desk staff was friendly.

Really awesome front desk staff. Clean rooms and conveniently located Downtown. Pretty decent free breakfast options including make your own waffle station. Only negative was the elevator was out and our room was 3rd floor.

It was an amazing stay! The ladies that checked me in on Friday afternoon were so wonderful and friendly. When they saw me leave to my car they asked me by name if I was ok and that if I needed anything. The hotel was clean and smelled good walking into the hotel. Elevator didn’t work but I didn’t mind I had my boyfriend with me to carry our stuff for the weekend.

The stay was good. The pillows need to be more bigger and firmer. The washing machine was down, so we could not wash, that was a downer and there was not enough towels available on A Sunday morning, due to needing a shower. The breakfast was great, so keep that! Overall the stay was good! We will come again!

Thoroughly disappointed with the experience. The hotel seemed to be plagued by maintenance issues, starting with the broken elevator that was out of order for the entire duration of my stay. Not only was it inconvenient, but it also raised some concerns about the hotel's overall upkeep. To make matters worse, the ice machine on my floor was also broken, and housekeeping failed to clean my room for multiple days. The lack of attention to detail was evident in the stains on the sheets, which were clearly not changed regularly. The most unpleasant aspect, however, was the strong smoky mildew smell that permeated my room. It was overwhelming and made my stay even more uncomfortable. Given the numerous issues I experienced, I would not recommend the Comfort Inn Detroit Downtown to anyone. The hotel's inability to provide basic amenities and maintain a clean environment fell far short of my expectations. Unless they address these issues, I would advise potential guests to look elsewhere.

The hotel hallway smelled like cigarette smoke very badly. The blow dryer in our room was coated with brown/red sticky residue and we didn't even want to touch it. The vents on the heater unit in the room were absolutely filthy.

Everything was meh to poor. Checking in was poor. As I walked in someone walked out. Turned out she was the front desk clerk. She didn’t come back till she was done with her cigarette. She also only checked me in for half of my nights causing issues the next day. The lobby stunk of pot and cigarettes to the point of disgusting. The hotel is not clean. There was hair on the bathroom walls, mildew, and what looked like blood stain on one of the pillows. The carpet looks about 30 years old of dirt thru out the building. The furniture was broken and in disrepair. The door had about an inch gap all the way around. The ice machine had some vomit looking crud in it. The next morning cleaning crew had the back doors propped open and they were nowhere in site. Overall a crummy hotel. It is a fake comfort inn to be sure. It is the absolute worst one I have stayed at. I thought I would be safe with the brand I was wrong.

Checked in at 4pm. Two rooms were dirty had not been cleaned from previous guests chicken bones on floor and blood in room. Just plain nasty. The third room stunk so bad you could not stay there. Tried to call Expedia but could not contact anyone. Very disappointing!!! They finally assigned us three different rooms. Will never ever pay Expedia for a nonrefundable room. If my money was not on the line I would not have stayed there.

Staff was friendly and great. Elevator was not working and had to climb stairs every time. Breakfast was good buy coffee was not hot. Room was decent, but the toilet was too low to sit. The bathroom has no handle for support. Sound proofing was not great and was hearing people talk even after midnight. The walkway was full of cigarette smell and hope they catch the ones who were smoking inside the walkway with the cameras that were installed everywhere. The fitness center had no ventilation and had a bad smell. Overall it is a hotel for some stop by for a day, but not for vacation.

The elevator was broken. Things happen Even though we did not have but two pieces of luggage, the reservation clerk stopped her duties to assist and support our efforts. That was very kind of her. She got one of the guys working there walkec us to the 2nd floor. I am 83 years old and the kindness shown us was most appreciated. Great employee . We will most certainly recommend your hotel to our friends. Thank you so much. Please let your Reservation clerk know we appreciated her.

The Comfort Inn Downtown was just what one expects from a mid priced hotel in a busy city. The staff was friendly and efficient. Check in was at 2 pm and one room in our group of three was not ready so we were quickly moved to a new room. One feature we did not enjoy was the sliding barn style bathroom doors. They provide no privacy. Bathroom activities should stay behind closed doors!

We checked in Friday night , the place seemed ok Not long after we got into the room i heard this door constantly opening and closing - exit at end of the hall - right beside our window - super noisey The next prize we were given was a group of women that were yelling and carrying on until midnight, then back at it at 530 am ! What a joke ! THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN !! Talk to reception the next morning to find out that group had checked out Skip to Saturday evening- we get back from our event and go to our room - then the sh*tshow starts .... It sounded like a heard of cows were running a marathon on the floor above us, then, the guys across hall start yelling back and forth - I tried my best to let it go , nope ! We packed up and headed to the lobby at 1030pm , and wouldnt you know it , its packed with 20 yr olds having a GD party in the lobby - The attendant was serving booze to this group and could care a less about the level of noise throughout the hotel !! I told him we were checking out , he just shrugged his shoulders and told me I could call management in the am !!! I would never book there again and they should really rethink if they are a hotel or a bar .....

The walls were paper thin, you could hear everything and every room just about. There was a fight next to our room beginning at 2:00 a.m. and lasted until almost 4:30 a.m. . I had to call the front desk. The staff was very efficient and nice.The curtains and blinds need to be updated.

This hotel has some of the smallest hotel rooms I have stayed in. It smells like it used to be a smoking hotel from years ago. It’s not terrible, and it was not expensive so we aren’t complaining. Just don’t expect much more than simply a place to sleep. The breakfast area is very small and our group couldn’t sit together. There were plenty of people that couldn’t find a chair. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We really appreciated the included shuttle!

The staff was great and the shuttle drivers were fantastic. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was not aware that this hotel is in a less than desirable location. I was concerned about our car in an unsecured lot. We were given a first floor room where we spent the night listening to people talking in the parking lot, car alarms, and the sound of base up and down the road. Room-- bed was ok, pillows were not. Curtains were falling apart. You get what you pay for

The hotel is pretty basic, but they did offer a daily shuttle to downtown and a hot breakfast each morning. Also, the service was great. Everyone at the front desk was nice, especially Steve. The shuttle drivers were great! Very kind, gave us suggestions where to go, and took us to the airport and which made our stay more enjoyable. Thanks to all the staff we encountered!

I can not praise the staff at this hotel enough! From check in to check out everyone was pleasant and friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in early, help me get a roll away bed for a guest who could not drive home, the shuttle around town; all excellent customer service.

The staff was incredible. When I returned from my concert, the woman working asked how it went and asked the name of the band again. Earlier she and a man were very helpful and so nice. Very enjoyable stay because of the great customer service!

It took a while to get someone at the front desk. The shower head barely put out any water and it was a small stream. We used the shuttle and the driver was incredibly rude. He snapped at me when I asked him for the phone number to call for a pickup. He cursed several times on the way.

Had heat on full blast walking up stairs and the elevator was broke so there was no way around it. Also the front desk night working gave some body a key to my room because they said they was my family and I was still out on the town. Gave them a key without hesitation or calling my phone to make sure it was okay.

I liked thatbwe could walk to dinner and also to the river. The Aretha Franklin amoitheater was also withing walking distance. It was close to everywhere I needed to go.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It was close to all the casinos, including the one in Canada. Right near the tunnel. Would have line waffle or pancake as bkft item. Parking was tight. The room was really nice snd bed was comfy.

The smoke smell was absolutely awful. Took away from very comfy beds and a very great staff. Location is close to downtown but not safely walkable. It was the least expensive option downtown so I guess it was worth what I paid.

Loved that they provided breakfast, with bananas, for the runners the early morning of the race. They opened up earlier than normal to make sure that all the runners for the Detroit Free Press Marathon had food to eat.

The Staff, like so many Hotels..make or break your stay! The Staff was friendly and accommodating. The Breakfast was all you hope for in a " breakfast included" option. Plenty of protein options, hot and cold egg items, sausage, yogurts, breads, bagels, cereal waffles etc. The gym was perfect for someone obsessed with getting their 15k steps in and also do a free weight workout! The elevator was out at my time..but, I used the opportunity to replace stair master workout. The fridge and micro, iron and board all made my stay perfect!

Great staff. Property a little dated. Room and public areas were clean. Hallways, not so much. Breakfast was tasty and had good options. Needed more than one coffee dispenser that was always empty, one toaster was not working which caused a line and some complaints.

The room was clean and the staff was excellent. It is an older property but they work hard to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast was typical with hot and cold selections, and the attendant kept everything stocked and cleaned up. Parking was limited but the free shuttle to Little Caesar's Arena was a real bonus!!
