Hampton Inn Detroit/Madison Heights/South Troy

The water power is really bad in the shower.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing housekeeping experience during our stay. We left a tip for housekeeping and returned to find that the tip had been taken, but our room had not actually been cleaned. The beds were still unmade, and a bottle of cleaning fluid and a used, dirty cleaning rag had been left sitting on the TV console right next to the beds. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but this felt like housekeeping had started our room, taken the tip, and then simply walked away without finishing. Leaving cleaning chemicals and a dirty rag behind was also concerning, especially since I was traveling with my children. I brought the situation to the hotel's attention, but no compensation, Hilton points, discount, or even another gesture to make it right was offered. That was probably the most disappointing part. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable, but I did expect the hotel to acknowledge that this was not an acceptable housekeeping experience. We've stayed at many Hilton properties and generally have good experiences, but this one definitely fell short of what I expect from a Hampton Inn.

Very clean, updated hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was in a wonderful location for an event we were attending. Rooms are a little smaller than I’m used to at this chain and some updates would be welcomed. But, the staff was super helpful and friendly! Overall, a good stay and we would come back.
