Stoney Creek Hotel St. Joseph

Great staff, nice sized room. Liked size of pool and the ability to swim to the outdoor side. Room bathroom fan didnt seem to work. The surfaces gor realy wet with the humidity. Large hot tub, but weak jets.

The property was nice. The staff were friendly and professional. I was a little bummed the pool was closed for maintenance. The rustic design of the hotel and attached bar is cool.

The theme carried throughout was a nice ambience. Staff very helpful. One of two elevators operational made things a little more inconvenient. Overall would recommend highly.

The pool area was amazing, however very dirty and unsanitary. Wet clothes laying around, the pool was visually dirty. Used Band-Aids laying on the pool deck . The hot tub had paint coming loose and the build-up of chemicals was visible in the bottom of the spa,. We didn't get in either , however we did notify mgmt.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Love the swimming pool area and hot tub. The bar made some of the best Old Fashioned’s I’ve ever had out!!! Will definitely stay there again!

Pool & hot tub were in much better repair than our previous stay a couple of years ago. The hallway smelled strongly of marijuana when we arrived, however, this was not an ongoing issue. Breakfast was hot & well supplied. Staff was courteous.

We stayed two nights Saturday and Sunday and by 12pm Sunday the pool and hot tub were no longer heated. And with the pool being an outdoor and indoor all in one, and the weather is temp outside was under 45 degrees. It made the pool unbearable to swim and the hot tub was cooler than a baby’s bath water.

I did not like waking up in the middle of the night to a bedbug crawling on me.. I couldn't leave fast enough..so gross!

Stayed there just last week only to be attacked by bed buds and when notified stAff we was rudly treated and was told to leave ..rude .not did they close off this infected room

Older motel, which I dint have a problem with, but just not very clean. Staff was friendly, but nothing special. We travel with a dog so I understand that sometimes places use certain rooms for pets, and I'm fine with that, but the first room we checked into smelled terribly like dog. As soon as we opened the door the strong odor hit us. We went on in to find the room seemingly just not cleaned well, like for a long time. Older furnishings and carpet is ok, but the ring of obvious dust all around the edges of the room is not ok. Turned on TV to find it had no sound. A/C didn't seem to be working quite right so we pulled out the filter to find it completely covered with dirt. A dirty sock under the bed. Picked up the phone to call the desk and it didn't work. The receiver was base was full of crumbs & dust like it had not been wiped off for a very long time. Went back to the desk and they did apologize and put us in another room. The staff handled our complaint appropriately, but didn't seem surprised either. The second room we were given was better and we did stay here two nights, but the whole place just seemed that it is chronically not cleaned very well. We also kept finding the side exit doors propped open with rocks at night when they were supposed to be locked. The mattresses were uncomfortable. Now, the decor of the place is neat. They have a little bar on site that served some food. The pool was nice and seemed relatively clean.

We checked in and were given a dirty room. Crumbs all over the made bed. Juice all down the wall crumbs all over the floor. I dont even want to talk about the condition of the furniture in the first room we checked into.

The rooms are always so clean & spacious. Comfortable beds & the easiest check ins!

Overall nice stay, carpets could use a deep clean or be replaced.

The breakfast was great! We love the pool and hot tub! But the room was not clean, stains on the sheets and bedspread!! Dust in the corners of the dark carpeting. hair in the bathroom and toothpaste smeared all over the vanity!! Yes! We doubt that our room had been cleaned at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All three beds were dirty with hair and dirt in them. The beds looked like they just remade them after the last guests. The floor made our feet dirty, the bathroom had hair everywhere. I had to make all our beds because I needed new bedding. Not impressed.

This place is very dirty! Bathroom was dirty on the walls and it smelled musty.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! We were passing through so we only stayed one night but would have liked to stay more. The hotel is dated and a little worn but was cozy, comfortable, and clean. We slept great thanks to being able to keep a window open during the night (we were on the 3rd floor) and a super comfortable bed. So much attention is paid to the details. We felt immediately at home here.

We were very pleased to be upgraded for free upon our arrival. The room was very large with a lodge-type/cabin feel, which, while not our style, was fine except room was very dark because of decor and lighting in the room was limited. There was a fireplace in the living area, which was nice. Front desk said it was operable but unfortunately it was not. It was very cold and windy the night we checked in. We actually thought one of the windows was open but when we went to close it we found it was closed and just very drafty. Area around the in-wall heaters were also very drafty. Hotel room needed some TLC. Breakfast was good and staff at front desk were amazing.

Nice big room. Need a soft chair to sit in. The only chair was a hard wooden desk chair; not comfortable at all. No place to relax except the bed.

Room was fine. Bed comfortable. AC cranked, thank goodness b/c it was 90’s Bathroom was small and wall paper peeling. Smelled of cigarette smoke in the hotel and room

Room was spotless. All amenities worked as they should. Very comfy bed!

The hotel was ok - the bed wasn't as comfortable as we remembered from our previous stays there. Maybe the mattress needed to be replaced

Nice hotel, room was smaller then expected

I was impressed about the amenities and services. However, the mattress on the bed in which slept was less than comfortable! It felt “mushy”, and there were places that “something” actually dug into my hip… like a broken spring! Otherwise, given I was there just one night…I will come again!

It was great except the pillows, they were horrible.

Staff needs to be friendlier. They were not welcoming. Some were frowning.

Jennifer was soooooo amazing omg like she helped my brother check in and get everything situated. I will definitely book with her a million times!

Honestly probably the nicest hotel staff we have ever encountered. We inquired about an early check in & the hotel was happy to offer it. (Even though they were sold out the night before) Breakfast staff was very attentive & ensured the dining area was clean. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here twice now and can't complain about a thing! They were even awesome enough to mail us back out Roku that we accidentally left plugged into the TV.

As soon as we entered the lobby we were greeted by Whitney who was super friendly. Our keys were ready. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We were on the 3rd floor. The hotel had such a friendly, welcoming vibe. We will stay there again the next time we visit St. Joe.

When Stoney Creek first opened, everything was top of the line! We've stayed many times over the years, but I don't think anything has been updated along the way. The first room we had seemed clean, but there was a strange smell and we found goldfish crackers dumped in a drawer. The room they moved us to was much better. There was a burn hole next to the sink that had been filled with clear epoxy.

Checked in with quickly but wasn’t told anything regarding pool hours and had to find out myself. Housekeeping didn’t come by once. A few times I left the room and they were a few doors down so I let them work, come back and they’re gone and they didn’t stop by my room. I never used the dnd sign. I ended up having to ask the front desk for towels and the trash and old towels piled up in the bathroom. Grabbed extra cups from the breakfast area because hk didn’t bother trying to come and refill them. The room was nice and comfortable but I wouldn’t say any hotel is worth a 400 $ weekend with no housekeeping. I also wasnt a fan of the high school soccer team kids running up and down the halls loudly, knocking on doors playing pranks. I was a teen not that long ago so I get it and didn’t fuss but again. For the price I paid, for a weekend trip, it would have been nice not to have the only knock on my door be goofy teens instead of housekeeping. Also take note that their hot tub is like bath water. If you’re like me and hoping for back pain relief, this jacuzzi is not what you are looking for.

Our room was nice and our check in went smooth, but when we went downstairs to use our drink credit we had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to help us. Which wasnt great

Comfortable and clean. Second time staying here. Easy access from I-29. Good breakfast. Reasonable price.

Seemed outdated compared to other ones we have stayed at. Breakfast area was really small, wasn’t enough room to sit down and eat.

I enjoyed my stay. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was pretty mediocre for such a large hotel. I like to have shopping and restaurants in walking distance, but there wasn't much that way. They have a cute little bar on-site that gives you a free drink with your stay.

From the moment Austyn checked us in to Olga in the bar, everything was amazing! After driving 14hrs, this place felt like home away from home. The room was perfect! Great bed, clean and I loved the shampoo/conditioner and body soap. The breakfast was great too! Ohhh! We also had the garlic parm wings in the bar-REALLY good! This place is well run, conveniently located, comfortable and clean!

This hotel is a gem! We've stayed here multiple times and are never disappointed. It feels safe and clean, and the location is perfect. Our room was a perfect little home-away-from-home with a coffee pot, microwave, and fridge, plus the bed was so comfy. The breakfast is a delicious way to start the day, and you have to check out the bar area—the bartender was absolutely incredible. Plus, parking is a breeze!

Our room was large and recently renovated. The breakfast area seemed poorly organized and the tables were not cleaned. The food was okay, but would have been better if there was a microwave to warm it up.

Great place to stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable beds and pillows, shower was the best ever. Breakfast was good and had a huge menu. We will look for another in this chain on our way west.
