Travelodge by Wyndham Valleyfair Shakopee

Nice, clean room and very comfortable bed. Next time I need to find out if there's an elevator before I book a room, but I would stay here again even though there is no elevator.

Checked in later at night and was given a room that was already occupied. Got a new room. Pillows were extremely flat. Towels were stained. No cups in rooms. Only Breakfast items available at 7:30 AM were: waffle dispenser was blocked so wouldn't pour out batter, oatmeal and 2 pieces of bread. Nothing else to chose from and no napkins available, only a box of tissue to use. 1 of the outside doors was missing the door handle so had to pull from the top or bottom of the door to get it to open.

Night was prepaid (via hotels.com). I requested a room close to a door or elevator (emphysema and HEAVY suitcase), with no stairs. Front desk found me a room on first floor, but charged me an extra $15.00. Room had non-functional TV, one burned out bulb in bathroom. Although there was an ice machine down the hall, the room had no ice bucket or glasses. The soda machine next to the ice maker was non-functional, although it did eat 8 quarters without complaint. My stay was only one night, so I did not bring these shortcomings to the attention of the staff -- but couldn't wait to check out and get to my next (much better) location.

Bathtub very slippery and no grab bars, bathroom door would not close, no refrigerator or microwave in room, no phone in room, ice machine didn’t work window was left open so wasps in the room. Towels and bedding low quality. Only bonus was Rubys family restaurant directly across street. Also, motel would not hold our luggage for a short time after check out.

They had a nice outdoor smoking area & 24 hour management. Close to Valleyfair for easy access to and from.

The lobby was great. Room needed some upkeep/repairs. No phone in room. Not enough outlets to charge devices. The laundry room was okay. The waffles from breakfast made both of us sick. The waffle battery may not have been properly mixed. It was a non-smoking room but the fabric of the bedding had cigarette smell embedded in it. Almost as if the laundry for a smoking room was mixed with the laundry from a non-smoking room. Beds were a bit lumpy.

Very convenient, the staff was very accommodating. They had cable t v, and I felt very safe with limited access entries. I had a good night's sleep

Booked the room. We were able to get to Shakopee Mn by 1:30pm. I realized check-in wasn't until 3pm. Was told room was cancelled and the price went up over $20.00 more. Than we walk into the room after our concert at 1am. One towel. Bed spread was dirty. Floor was dirty. No TV remote. Very little toilet paper and the sweet smell of pot being smoked in the hallway. Go to the night clerk to get towels and toilet paper and got nothing. I realize this will more than likely end up getting deleted by hotels.com. that's okay. I have over a million looks on my Google maps reviews.

Outlet falling out of wall, could not open window, many things need to be fixed or replace

The lobby and rooms look new and updated. It is very clean and the cleaners are thorough. The rooms are nice, comfortable bed, openable windows and was spacious in my king room. The shower didn’t work in my bathroom though. There’s always people wandering outside or sitting in the back lounge area. Nice location. The staff is super wonderful and professional.

there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, used baby body on the safe green sos pad used on the floor mold around the bathtub, tiles missing next to toilet temp control did not work asked for a late check out and the moring attended was very rude and demding went to get some coffee and a waffle and was kicked out of the room so the gentleman could clean the floors

To preface this, we are not super picky about hotels as long as they are clean. Upon arrival to the hotel, there was smoke in the hallway. The hotel staff did have air purifiers throughout the hallway, but it did not remove the weed smell. The rooms were small, but completely acceptable. They werent in perfect condition, holes in the wall, some screws sticking out, but that wasn't what made this a terrible experience. We were getting ready for bed and looked at the bedding to find one bed with a massive urine spot on the sheets. The other had nail polish or paint, bright pink, across the sheets and top blanket. When we lifted the blanket, there was hair and more stains. Thinking maybe our room was missed when cleaning, I went to the front desk and asked for new bedding. They were very nice and gave me two new sheets so I could change them. When I got back to my room, I opened the bedding to see they had urine and other bodily fluid stains. If we hadn't just traveled 6 hours with three kids (arriving about 11pm), I would have packed up and left immediately. We were out of options so stayed for the night. To make it even more dissappointing, there was no hot water in the morning to shower so thank goodness for water rides at Valleyfair. The resturant across from the hotel was delicious and had amazing breakfast!

There was mold every where in the bathroom. It appeared as if they tried to paint over it. There was yellow liquid dripping down on the walls in our room as well as the hallway.

Very dirty, once you walk in the building you cannot breath they have humidifiers in the hallways first time I ever seen that. I would not recommend coming here unless you have no other choices. This hotel shouldn’t be on Expedia 👌

The sheets weren't clean!!! SO DISGUSTING!!! Bathtub faucet came off. Smoke alarm battery needed replacing. Black mold spots on bathroom ceiling. Bathroom wasn't very clean. AC dirty and worn. Shabby furniture.

Zero stars. This hotel was the worst place I have stayed. Upon arrival and checking the room, we found it dirty. I had to have them change the bedding as it appeared used. We then had to go get disinfecting wipes to be able to stay in the room. The microwave has food splattered all over the inside. The fridge had pubic hair and some unidentified liquid in it. There are exposed wires, missing faceplates, no screen or filter in the a/c or windows. Though listed as completely non-smoking, the hallways were clouded with smoke. The door doesn’t even slightly muffle any sounds. The best part of the stay was the view, which was a vacant lot and the back side of a trailer park. The room I reserved was supposed to have 2 beds and a couch for 3 adults. It did not.

Smelled of smoke, room was in poor condition (wall crumbling in bathroom, shower curtain was brown with stains, opened the curtains to find a male directly out the window grilling in a backyard setting), bed was super uncomfortable and pillows were poor quality.

Mold on both beds, and in shower. Holes and/or dents in the walls, random stains on bedding and walls. Lobby was nice in comparison, not good breakfast options. Burnt outlet near beds, and electrical tape all around the cord of AC unit, though the unit worked well. Had a smart TV that would not connect to Wifi and couldnt use by itself. Nice fridge space. Staff was indifferent towards customers for the most part.

Our room smelled musty, the carpet was wet and the linoleum was sticky. The bed was not comfortable and the 2 pillows were like thin cotton. The lighting was so so dim. The bathroom was not cleaned very well.

It was a bed to sleep in. While there was a TV in the room, we had to ask the front desk for a remote. When we finally got the remote the tv only got one channel. There was no ice bucket. No room phone.

Staff was very friendly! Building was old and dated. Very dirty. Stains all over the walls. Baseboard heating element layin on floor and a space heater for its replacement. Continually smelt of pot. Could hear every door shut and your neighbors sneeze

The room was freezing cold. There was a free staning radiator heater that did not warm the room. Defenatly is not a safe option for heating as it would burn you if accidentally touched. Also, could feel the springs in the bed. Worst night sleep ever!!

no electrical outlets adjacent to the bed or desk to plug in battery operated device devices like phones or laptop laptops or tablets. I had to plug in my tablet next to the air conditioner and charge my phone, wireless headphones, and watch over in the bathroom area. Showerhead is about 5 feet high, meaning one has to duck to rinse off shampoo. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was available in the morning, but I did not take time to get any.

I reserved a 2 queen room but got a king room. Hair in the sink. Drain did not work well. Very limited breakfast. No extra blankets or pillows. Need more parking.

The room was stained. Floor was sticky. Tables were crusty. Remote was sticky. Bathroom towels and shower curtain was stained. Heat in room did not work. Lots of rust on fixtures. Bathroom fan not cleaned.

The single king room I had reserved was taken when I got there so I was given a double queen on a different floor. The breakfast was an outmeal pack and banana. And the TV did not work in my room. Will definitely not be staying there again!!

The place is a dump. Checking in there was nobody at the desk. Had to call him. The paperwork went smooth. Room was dirty. Diet ridges pushed up at edges of the floor. No cups, no waste basket, air conditioner wasn’t running. The room didn’t cool off until after midnight. All the furniture was beat up. Sheets were clean. Towels were clean. Smart TV with limited access to channels. Tub faucet only provided lukewarm water. Parking was limited. Had to park across the street because several contractor trailers were taking up parking spaces.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived after check in time. Short staffed. Broken window in the room. TV did not work. WIFI did not work. There was mold in the bathroom and the toilet seat had a crack in it. There was also not enough towels. The walls in the room were disgusting. Wouldn't stay here again if someone paid me.

Hotel called at 4:00 pm and said they had to charge a credit card that was not discover. I booked my reservation through Expedia and used Discover, but they insisted I had to give them another card over the phone or they may cancel my reservation. They said they don’t accept discover. When I went to check in later in the evening, they had a sign on the front desk saying that they accepted Discover. They ripped the sticker off the desk and said I had to pay with another card. They did not have two rooms for me with two beds each per my reservation. Door to my room would not shut. My wife could not get it shut. I had to slam it had to shut it all weekend.

Terrible customer service. Now I will admit i was early for my reservation. But when showing up a few hours early to an empty hotel I thought I would ask if I could check in or at the very least leave my luggage there. I was told both those things would require an extra fee. Okay I understand we all need to make money. But the fees were more than the reservation. They admitted my room was available and clean and ready but wouldn't let me check in early without paying more than the room was costing me. But was told if I wanted to come back in a few hours they would let me check in still early but no fee. Okay I decide to come back at the time the manager told me for and guess what he had left. Now there was no manager working anywhere in the hotel so can't check you in until a new manager shows up. Which ended up not happening until after my actual check in time. Then when I get to my room it would of been brightly lit except only 2 out of the 7 lightbulbs worked. And on top of that the only wall outlet that seemed to work was the one that the tv was plugged into but couldn't even unplug the tv as it seemed to be super glued into the outlet. So no working outlets and no working lights. The room itself was dirty . Asked for a new room and again they attempted to charge me another fee for changing rooms as I had already walked into the dirty no power one so they would have to clean it again. Just terrible customer service. Honestly just try another hotel in this area.

They didn’t have anything accommodating they wouldn’t let me check in early and they kept my 50$ deposit for no reason

Manager was super rude and he is racist, we was going to book another day my husband went to talk to him. He was going to charger my husband $75 and i went to talk to him and he said $65. This manager is beyond rude. He wouldn't let me ask my question he kept cutting me off.. he doesn't know how to be a manager or even a employer.

CANCELLED by email less than 4 hrs before ck in. I called to confirm how late you could ck in and no mention of cancellation. Offered no apology or solution to last minute cancelation

Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to fix an issue before I arrived. They tried calling multiple times and no one called them back. Every time we went to the front desk, no one was there. They had a phone at the front desk to call the manager. The rooms we were in, the phones did not work so we had to go down to the front desk each time. It did not matter what time of day or night it was. Free breakfast was a joke. The coffee maker was almost out of coffee. There was 4 of us and we each took a 1/2 glass of coffee. Had issues with the waffle maker and the toaster did not work. Your only option for breakfast was a waffle. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioner sounded like it was going to blow up. Horrible noises all night long coming from it. The towels/washcloths were old and rough. The first night there our tv did not work. Walk down to the lobby, called the manager. Never apologized for the inconvenience, just said you need to turn the tv on. I said it is on but the remote for the cable box is not working. He never offered to come down and help out. The next day the janitor came in to fix the tv and had to replace the batteries. Still could not get the tv to work, he said that when we got back that he would have the tv fixed. Left and came back 8 hours later and still no tv. Went back to the lobby to call and the guy said well you need to use your phones hot spot to connect and then the tv will work. What a NIGHTMARE!!

Front desk was supposed to be 24 hours but was closed when we got there and there was no way to get a hold of them as their phone wasn't working. We got lucky someone came by the desk after we had been there for 20 minutes. Heater in room did not work. Turned it on it made a bad burning smell then shut down and set off the smoke detector in the room. Breakfast consisted of either pancakes or waffles and orange juice, nothing else. I will not stay there nor will I recommend for others to stay there.

Had a late check in as I got into town late after midnight. Rang the lobby phone for customer service rep to come out to assist with checking me in. Called the phone line for 30 minutes and no one came out to help.

The lobby was nice, the person at the front desk friendly. I had to put a $100 deposit down in addition to payment for room. The room wasnt so great. The floor tiles were coming up and we kept tripping over them. The pillows were very thin, there was really no blanket on the beds it was so thin. There was barely any lights in the room. No cups or the usual items except shampoos, etc. Very few thin towels and one was very dirty! The toilet wasnt bolted down and there were many spots they missed when cleaning. On a good note, even tho the tub was slippery and my friend got hurt, the showerhead was amazing. When we checked out i asked if they needed to look at the room to give my deposit back. We left it in great condition. The owner said no. He asked if i had a receipt for the deposit but noone had given me any paperwork. I has to show him my online bank account to prove they had taken it. He then made me scan a qr code and give a review before he would refund my deposit. I told him i was a reviewer and would do it later because i was late for an appt. He wouldnt let me leave and give my deposit until i reviewed the place. I wrote a quick review. He then took my phone and added to my review!

Good one overnight stay. Good location but dated property. Good hot water but shower didn’t drain properly.

Nice clean place, staff is nice, dining options around and walkable distance if you have no transportation. Everything was a convenient.

The staff was efficient and friendly. Breakfast was poor but there was an excellent restaurant across the street. No frills but clean with a comfortable bed.

Convenient for what we needed

General housekeeping was poor and the location did not feel safe. There was little to no security and the doors that were not the front door did not require a secure pass to get in.

It was in a great location to access the main roads. But, there was mildewy shower curtains, spiders and spider webs in the bathroom. Lots of ants crawling around the dang floor. I didn’t even want to contemplate what was under the sink or the beds. The floor had lint still or looked like it wasn’t vaccumed. The beds mattresses actually look old. The smell of the place smelled of old smoke from marijuana, covered up by Lysol. For breakfast they have broken waffle and pancake makers, that you have to fight with it to work and one doesn’t even turn over. The front desk guy commented or joked that he’d take my card and go shopping, and this was middle of the night around 1:00am that we checked in. I had three children with me. I would have fared better if I had went camping instead. But camping has fresh air.

Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept on. The breakfast was in a closet sized room with one waffle maker, toaster, and an orange juice dispenser. I went to the restaurant across the street for an adequate breakfast.

The breakfast was a joke. Three slices of bread at 6:30am, juice machine didn't work, a substitute like sunny d was offered, only three choices for breakfast and there wasn't any batter for waffles! So, really only two choices. The bathroom was dirty, a big blob of something on the shower curtain and what looked like blood stains on the bedspread.

Rooms were devoid of any normal items. There were no coffee pots, clock, wall art, or even a fire escape plan. We had two beds and a TV. Not even cups to drink from. The breakfast bar consisted of waffles and coffee. There was no milk, juice, or peanut butter/jelly. Very disappointed with the hotel.

TV only worked for about ½ hour then said Network disconnected. Went to front desk and told them, they said they'll send manager down to fix it. Bathroom door will not close. Bottom of bathtub full of Ajax scrubbing powder. Main door you have to slam to shut. Told front desk all above problems and nothing was done. Booked because it's a Wyndham but really disappointed Breakfast included waffles and coffee was it.

Breakfast offered but there was no bread no yogurt no milk no juice worst breakfast offering in my life in any hotel, don't misguide people there was nothing for my family to eat we bought our own bread a big shame on the place, I should get back half my money I paid as only got half service provided no one was at reception most of time I could see other people frustrated, bedding was dirty too plus bathroom was horrible , probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in , third world state and USA is not a third world country best hotel should close shop as it's not meeting regulations.

Both nights we were awakened by fighting and screaming. At one point two little children in a vehicle right outside yelling for their mom, and somebody taking her away. Then one of the kids pleading not to kill her. At 3am on Sunday morning somebody was using what sounded like a table saw in one of the rooms down the hall. Only waffles and coffee at breakfast - nothing else. Not even water. Would not recommend.
