Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Big Flats (Elmira), NY

I stay here once a month. Older place that they are trying to keep up. Surprised this trip that they are charging $5 to park.

Hard to find: no signage.

Friendly staff, place was easy to find and clean. Some broken tiles in the washroom but overall well kept. Got there in the early evening and after settling in we went out for dinner. Got back around 10 and no lights in the parking lot whatsoever, no parking spots close to the front entrance. Didn’t feel very safe and it’s not just this property, even the mall across the driveway …the roads, no lighting! Otherwise it was fine.

Pool was under construction which was not a problem for me or my spouse but I do think the hotel should some how let people know this. Especially those with children may be disappointed. Also, no ice available. Breakfast had Very limited choices & not enough space for people to sit.

Rooms were ok no tv ch guide, pool was closed for renovation and the ice machine has been broken for almost a year. I was offered to cancel my reservation by at 10:30 pm and 350 miles we were exhausted. The room was clean but no maid service until the customers checked out.

The tricky part was the fire alarm went off… they handled this well. There also was no pool or gym access but they did offer free cancellations on the spot. The service made up for the lack on the property!

Since it was race weekend they jacked up the rates bigtime - from $89 to $224 per night - ridiculous. Ice machine didn't work, pool was closed, in-room fridge was barely working ... only good thing was A/C. SO NOT WORTH 224/night

Nice property, nice room- free breakfast a little sparse. Since we booked through Expedia, the property charged 5 dollars a night for parking which is unusual for the Elmira, NY hotel area.

Our room had stains on the carpet and opened soap in the bathroom. Lots of spackle that needed to be painted. There was no seating available for breakfast so we had to get breakfast elsewhere.

We checked in around 3AM and we had a baby with us. Shortly after getting settled in the room we noticed how little was done in terms of cleaning the room. We found crumbs and oily patches on the side tables and in areas of the room. We lay a bed sheet on the desk and kept our stuff on that to get by for the night. The toilet bowl in the bathroom still had streaks of yellow stains in the bowl. The crib that was provided was creaky and the baby would wake herself whenever she moved around in the crib. Opening the door to the room was no easy task either. Someone needs to readjust the hinges, the door gets stuck in the frame all the time. Switching rooms at this point seemed like an ordeal after how tired we were after a long trip, and so we decided to bear it down for a few hours. Regardless, the room should have been cleaned properly at the very least. Worst hotel stay ever.

Area is great lots of places to eat. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was very clean.

We have stayed at this property previously and it was nice. This stay was a disappointment. Dirty towels, bathroom not clean. Room felt damp. We will not stay again.

Dirty room drippy marks and sticky with hair on bedroom doors,toilet hasn’t been scrubbed in a long time, one ice machine filthy, pool closed, cracks in ceiling, smoke detectors hanging from ceiling yellow old smoked up, carpet cigarette burns by the bed mattress was disgusting, bedding horrible etc.

The bathroom was not clean. Bathtub and shower curtain were dirty. There were no rods in the bathroom to hang towels. The bathroom door lock was not working properly.

I booked this hotel by mistake. I meant to book the one in Ithaca. We made the 40 minute drive here, and were glad we did. When I first got the key and our room number, my heart sank. First floor, right by the lobby and ice machine. But our room was very nice. It had a spacious bathroom and a sitting room separate from the bedroom and divided by French doors. The parking lot does not go around the building and our room backed to open space. The noise in the hallway was not an issue. It wasn’t very loud, and we had the French door to close and there was a fan between the two rooms that provided white noise. We slept quite well.

Nice quiet location close to lots of shopping. All suites and a great size to stretch out for a couple of days. Comfortable beds & lots of hot water. Breakfast was very good. Have stayed here before and was just as good the last time.

We were only here for less than 12 hours, so my description is short and sweet! We were greeted at 11pm by a warm women and soft delicious cookies in the lobby. We were in the far end of the hotel, where I was told the internet doesn’t reach when I mentioned I can’t connect. I had to walk to the lobby to use it, which was a little annoying, but not the end of the world. I used the gym in the morning, which was fine. They have some cardio machines and weights. I could tell it’s rarely used since the disinfecting wipes were all dried up. I didn’t mind being alone in there though! I inquired about the pool, but was told it was still closed and she wasn’t sure when it would reopen. Breakfast had a decent variety of food, and there was an attendant there at all times refilling bread/etc…. They used disposable plates, cups and cutlery though, which is disappointing since it’s awful for the environment. There was cookies/tea/coffee/hot chocolate 24/7, which was nice though. The room itself was a nice size and clean. Same for the bathroom. We were only given 2 bath towels for 4 people, which I thought was odd, but since we left after breakfast and couldn’t use the pool, the kids didn’t need to bathe. Overall, the hotel was totally fine for the night. I’m not sure I’d want to spend one week there since the internet/pool thing would have become annoying though.

Nice room and comfortable beds. However the environmental controls were not working and the temperature was locked in at 64 degrees over the second night of the stay. The advice from the desk was to set the temperature to 80 and wait for it to warm up. It didn't.

Was a short drive to Watkins Glen State park, however i feel its overpriced. Breakfast was mediocre, limited seating. Room was ok except the TV didn't work correctly, neither did the remote. Outlets didn't work, lampshade was broke as well as some other things that need fixing. Definitely not worth the price

Pool is not operational and WIFI very poor from our room. Friendly staff. Other than that the room was okay.

Rented nice king room but super noisy.next to highway. . Plus the large window did not close properly to seal out the noise

The room air conditioner was extremely loud. Only option was to move rooms, didn't want to do that at 10:00PM. So we turned up the thermostat to keep from kicking in. Staff did not send maintenance staff the following day while we were out, and had to deal with it again the following night and next morning. They could use a better system for maintenance. Not sure they even reported it? We just kept upping the thermostat 1 degree to deal with it. Missed the access road to the hotel twice, even with GPS (GPS a little late on instructions), being there is no roadside entrance sign.

The front desk worker KELLY was very rude and argumentative. This woman claimed my card declined meanwhile I was showing her clear proof in my account the money was taken I have never experienced this with other staff but this woman not to sure how she has a job. I will be contacting her manager due to the very rude interaction with this woman.

The staff was great, not just one or two, every staff member we talked to was friendly and informational. The breakfast was good, kept full and the breakfast area was very clean.

I got to property two hours before 3. I asked the woman behind the counter if there was a room yet available, she didn't even look and simply said "check in time is at 3". This has never happened to me before, this woman didn't even look, had no interest in trying. I'm not going back, ever! Plenty of other places to stay in the area that will treat me better. Breakfast was terrible and so was the coffee, no joke.

At 7:30 PM, I called the hotel to check if my room had a sofa bed, and the representative confirmed it did. However, when I arrived at 12:30 AM, the front desk clerk, Kelly, claimed there was no record of my reservation! Despite explaining I had confirmed my booking earlier, she insisted their system showed nothing. I contacted Expedia, and Amy confirmed I had an active reservation. When Amy called the hotel, Kelly still denied it. Amy arranged a refund and helped book me another hotel. Dealing with this hotel was terrible, but Expedia's agents were empathetic and very helpful.

Our room only had one lamp on one of the nightstands. It needed another one for the second nightstand. Also, none of the outlets for charging phones or pc were functionable. The outside parking area was dark. There wasn't any lighting on half of the building outside nor was there any lit signage for the hotel. We drove past the hotel twice before we saw the building.

The property was very nice and in a great location. There were many stores and restaurants within a convenient distance, which made it easy to grab anything we needed. The area felt safe, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing throughout our stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Everything was excellent. The only thing I would work on is the quality of your breakfast.

The breakfast has been better on previous visits. When we came down a 9:30 there was hardly any food left.

The bed and room were very comfy and clean. Breakfast was ok. The eggs were not very good, but everything else was fine. We were vacationing with our three year old and felt the hotel was very family friendly.

This is a quiet, small town. The hotel is next to the mall with some choices of restaurants. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is plain and not enough choice or good quality. They only provide tide the room every three days. So keep that in mind.

The staff was so very helpful. Greeting us at check in , she was ready and efficient and friendly. The breakfast guy was on task and helpful with a smile.

I was disappointed with several aspects of my recent hotel stay. The pool was closed and, according to staff, has been for months. The ice machine and refrigerator in our room were both out of order, and the AC couldn't be adjusted. The Wi-Fi was often unavailable and, when it did work, was extremely slow. There were no cookies at reception during check-in, and the water for tea was frequently either unavailable or not hot. Lastly, the breakfast options were quite limited and often ran out. The Staff were very nice!

Food was ok. Slim options. Tv's are way small. Ask for housekeeping The floor in my room stayed wet from the AC leaking back into the room. Smallest pillows known to man This place needs updated But the staff is awesome.

Nice hotel showing its age. The breakfast buffet was below standard for a hotel in this category. It would be better to provide a nice continental breakfast than the options offered. No yogurt, no bananas, no protein mea Staff were friendly.
