The room was clean but very basic. It is an older establishment, and stairs were pretty run down. We never found an elevator, so if you need an elevator, definitely ask the hotel. There was ample parking, however, it was difficult to figure out where their front office/reception was since it wasn't clearly indicated. Front office staff was friendly.

The most honest review I can give - The location of this hotel is excellent! Close to everything we wanted to do. The beds were comfortable and clean. The hotel room was clean, but definitely in need of some updates. The price of the room was very fair. The outside steps leading from the first to the second floor were in very poor shape. Handrail was leaning to the side instead of up and down as it should have been. The stairs were a hazard. The staff was all very friendly. The breakfast buffet was for the most part inedible. There was only one woman working and I felt very bad for her having to give out the food, while checking out other guests who were purchasing items. The sausage looked repulsive. Not the worst place we've ever stayed, but certainly not the best.

This property is in poor repair. Duct tape holding the stairs together, old & dirty wallpaper. Poor breakfast. Unless you are not fussy and want a cheap place to stay, avoid it.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is only open fo rbreakfast on weekends. Beds were clean, comfy and didn't make noise when getting in or out of. However the carpet is worn and needs replacement as does the furniture. Bathroom though clean, could use a good overhaul of paint and caulk. Water pressure and temperature was good. Curtains need to be fixed/replaced. Our side was facing the interstate so yes, there is traffic noise. Room temperature was able to be nicely regulated and made it comfortable. Refrig & coffee machine in room, as was an iron, hair dryer and nice size clothes cabinet were convenient. Would consider stayiing here again in the future.

It was run down. It falsely advertised having a bar and restaurant, which was not true. They only had a run down restaurant that they opened for breakfast. The free breakfast was decent however.

Bed was very uncomfortable as well as the pillows. Strong mold smell in bathroom sink. Holes in walls. Carpet is dirty, lumpy, and coming loose. Walls stained and moldy. Horrible conditions. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a lot!

Filth and Bad Management. I always give a hotel an opportunity to fix any issues as I know we are all human and mistakes happen. This place was beyond a mistake it was an abomination, and, with that, I STILL tried to work with the manager, Donna, who dodged me completely. The rooms were FILTHY...,The pictures in the listing, don't trust them, the are photoshopped. The walls and cielling are cinderblock, there is mold, dirt, FILTH, BLOOD, URINE... It is HORRIBLE. There was not one sheet surface not covered in stains or blood. The bathroom floor had urine on it, the door had feces caked on in a small spot, the vents were black, the wallpaper was stained and peeling back. This place is a health hazard all around. I coughed all night long, the whole three hours I was able to sleep because I was SO grossed out. They promised a refund, and then reneged when the time came to issue it. I am posting pictures becasue I actually mean what I say.

The room was very dirty. Smelled musty and like cigarettes. I complained and they refused to give me a refund. Another customer was there complaining aa well. They gave him a different room but he came back stating that room was much worse. Worst place ever. I do not recommend.

A/C unit unresponsive. Continued to blow stiflingly hot air regardless of setting or how long I left it to cool off. I have experienced this in multiple rooms so it's not just one unit. It's the way their HVAC system runs. They choose the settings and your stuck with it. At least you can turn it off so it doesn't blow hot air in. Beds are mushy, old and in need of replacement. Overpriced on the weekends but if they can get $150 a night and be fully booked then who am I to complain. They did have vacancy when I checked however....

Bathtub had cracks in it and took forever for the hot water to come on. Check in staff was great. You are advertising a restaurant, but it is only for breakfast where the food was either cold or the staff didn't even show up until it was time to open and then the food was late for plans we had made. They were too busy talking to each other instead of getting the food out on time and hot! Rooms were old and not very well kept up. Your star rating is definitely out of proportion. I would give it a 4 out of 10l

The room we had was in need of updating. It was a little sad overall. The breakfast was ok but even the booth seats were in need of repair and updating. The AC worked which given it was 98 outside was a good thing.

We checked in on a Thursday evening to stay until the following Tuesday morning. The man who checked us in was fine. However, the room was a little dirty. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was that on Saturday, the West Gate Inn Nyack lost AC. When I asked the front desk staff, they said there was nothing they could do and it should come back on soon. We went out Sunday, came back at around 6 PM, and the AC was still not on. When we asked the front desk, they said they were trying to be empathetic but they were hot too and every guest was upset but management said they couldn’t do anything. They told us to check out and ask our third party for a refund. Now that the third party reached out to them, they’re not going to give us one. I’m not one to write online reviews, but this was bad enough to warrant one.

Customer service was not good at all. We didn’t have towels so we asked for them and it was like putting out the front desk lady. The remote in the room was broken and she didn’t want to get it fix or even try to help us at all. We found batteries on the floor which helped it work. The floors are old carpet which are dirty. It’s very outdated inside and out. We thought the bar/lounge area was open where it was Saturday night but it was not and the lady was rude about it. There was some sketchy people in the parking lot and area the building. The beds were clean but there were stains on the walls and top blankets . The towels that were given to us were stained but smelled clean. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place at all

Not a bad stay for the money. Lots of homeless and tweakers walking around at all hours of the night. Traffic is heavy around the area especially durning rush hour lots of honking. Staff is great except for the breakfast lady she’s kinda rude. They offer a buffet breakfast but you can’t get seconds or serve yourself. You will get yelled at for serving yourself when nobody is there to serve you. Room is basic but clean. Good for an over night stay nothing more. I wouldn’t bring kids here. Way too many homeless and tweakers trying to talk to girls and kids. It makes it uncomfortable.

Would not Recommend this dirty hotel at all, stinks and is very dirty has mold in the the shower… I spoke to the Lady at the front desk and told her my Wife and I were not happy with the cleanliness and she apologized and said to contact Expedia for a refund that the hotel would not contest it but Expedia has tried to reach them for over 72 hours and they do not respond. So Expedia cannot give me a refund. Don’t waste your money on this hotel unless you don’t mind sleeping in a place that smells like old stinky rugs….

Very inexpensive for the area. Close to so many things to do and see in the Hudson Valley. Room was worn but clean except the carpet. Very nice staff. Location might look sketchy, but no problems. Great breakfast buffet included. Good food, great selection. It's definitely a budget stay, so don't expect anything upscale.

The location is perfect for the price if you want to use the rail station at Tarrytown to get to NYC. Just a drive across the Hudson and you are there. Both the hotel and station are just a short distance off the ramps for 287. Continental breakfast was great and the dining area was spacious and nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is a great location to explore Nyack and it's waterfront. The room at the back section of the hotel was fine. The room was a little worn, but clean and everything worked. The beds and bedding were great and the bath was nice. Free parking, a luxury in these parts. The only complaint is the AC produced a slight cigarette odor, even though the hotel has a very strict no smoking policy. The cleaning staff did a great job in minimizing this, but cigarette smoke is so difficult to get rid of. We will definitely stay again the next time we go to NYC.

The location was great. Breakfast Buffet was good. There's a gas station across the street and a car wash. The lounge at the lobby was great. There's a liquor store and a supermarket near by and the town is a 5 minute drive with great restaurants and bars. We also walk the beautiful Gov Mario M bridge and the view was spectacular 😍 I will definitely recommend this motel

This is a great old school motel. The price is wonderful and the ability to park right in front of the unit is ideal for me. The breakfast is hot and traditional and the coffee is good. The staff are friendly. When I arrived I had a wonderful conversation with another guest in the 60,s style lobby. The location is so convenient: very close to the first exit after crossing the Mario Cuomo bridge going west. The only recommendation I have concerns the warmth of the room is very cold temperatures. The heating unit was working but the room was quite cold; perhaps some additional insulation on the windows would help retain the heat. Also the carpet might benefit with a good eco-friendly replacement. It is still my go-to when I drive up and down the eastern corridor. :)

The buffet breakfast could have been done better. Although the food was average, the process to get the food took longer than it should have due to only one person serving the food. There was a long wait time to get juice which was behind the counter because the only front employee was busy dishing out food. Either more staff is needed or something needs to change with the set up so that things like juice and butter or syrup are available for people to serve themselves.

Room had a street motel type smell to it. The doors were not sound proof, you would hear exterior noise in morning and evening. I liked the idea of the breakfast buffet with the choice of foods, but most of the food was made ahead of time and were cold at the time of serving.

The Continental breakfast was out of this world! For it being included with the cost of your stay they really go all out.. a full breakfast.. most places it's just quick food.. here you sit, relax and enjoy a good hearty meal before you start your day.. highly recommend
