The property was stunningly beautiful on a gorgeous autumn day. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The "breakfast room" was lovely at all times day and night. We enjoyed coffee on the patio with changing autumns leaves reflected in the lovely stream. The full breakfast was very generous and we were pleased that there were healthy options. The reception staff were very friendly and the breakfast staff very attentive.

The lobby had to be 100 degrees fahrenheit. The room was cool though. Maggie, the front desk clerk, was very nice. Accomodating and friendly. The room however, while not filthy, was definitely drab. The tv cabinet was bowed, the shower head hadnt been maintained in years. The water pressure was quite low. Breakfast was the average breakfast offered at a mid range hotel. The scrambled eggs came out of a bag, the bacon was pre cooked and the sausage patty was overcooked. They had the usual cereal, bagels and danish. Juice and coffee. This place has great potential. The owners should invest in an update of their hotel. But keep the staff! All in all not the worst place I've ever stayed in, but certainly not the worst. 2.5 out of 5

Beautiful backyard with a rambling brook, picturesque fall foliage on the sides, a bridge in the distance made for awesome backyard of hotel. Sadly a beautiful locale is poorly maintained, our keycard expired prematurely and caused us to go down to lobby again, poor lighting and curbside appeal.

Was a convenient place to stay. Room was comfortable, just older windows & air conditioning unit. Couple of really tiny flies in the room, guessing they came through the windows. Windows were older & had some cobwebs outside. But the view from those windows, out the back, was beautiful. The bed was comfortable, TV had enough channels & worked well. I didn't use the shower, but the bathroom had a slightly odd layout & was cramped. If you sat on the toilet & the door was open, you couldn't close it. Just odd. The hotel backed onto a large rippling stream with ducks swimming and a heron standing & watching for fish. The breakfast was basic but adequate (eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurts, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice). So I enjoyed my breakfast on the back patio, overlooking the stream. It had rained during the night & table and chairs were wet. Would have been nice if the staff had dried off the chairs, something simple & easy to do. But I just went in & got napkins & dried it off. Mixed reviews, but overall it fit the purpose, was comfortable enough & price was right. I would go back.

1st room toilet was broke, 2nd room tub faucet was broke and it smelled terrible like a wet dog. The microwave, frig, beds toilet tub and sink were clean but everything else was dirty with splashes and stuff dripped all over the walls and doors. the floors were dirty. the light switch plates were filthy. Most of the windows in the building are bad. the gutters are overflowing. The patio is full of weeds. There are spiders all over the building and and we found silver fish in the bed. The worst thing was the really nasty smell of dog. The staff was pleasant but have no idea of how to maintain the property. I read the reviews and a lot of them are bad. any that say the place is sparkling clean are straight up lying

Room note ready for check-in due to a night before bridal party per front desk, was told that the room would be ready at 4pm not able to get in until about 5; hotel front desk told Hotel.com rep Jospeh, room was ready at 4, checked in at 5pm, Had an event at 5, didn't make it to my event until 7pm, mind you it was suppose to be ready at 3pm mins away and we were late. Room not cleaned had to go get towels from the front desk, before getting dressed. Room smelled like pee upon entering. It's sad that you stay with a hotel that is able to disrupt your plans due to their lack of planning and staffing and hotel.com doesn't even make an effort to ask the hotel for a discounted rate to compensate.The cellular reception is not good in this area, if you need directions, you need to have a pre- prepare your route and no calls coming in or going out.

This is an adequate spot for an overnight on the road. Our room was kind of musty and damp despite the AC, though that is probably owing to the extreme humidity during our July stay. With spots on the ceiling and curtains and a bathroom that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, it wasn't super nice, but it served for the night. A patio overlooks a stream out back, but it's not super scenic. In the morning, we were surprised to find a great breakfast -- all the continental hotel standards, plus a waffle machine, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon with a variety of yogurt, juice and coffee. Definitely a perk. And we were easily able to order some dinner for delivery from a decent local place -- the front desk has a list of restaurants ready.

The hotel is dated and in need of a significant refurbishment. When you enter the lobby, the hotel smells a bit damp. The sheets on my bed were heavily stained. The sheets in my friend’s room were dirty and they had not changed them from the previous occupant. There was something in the hotel that I was allergic too and made me sneeze. The breakfast is very basic (toast, bagels, Kellogg cereals, etc). I expected a lot more for $1,000 per room for 2 nights. I don’t mind paying that for a nice hotel but this was a complete rip off

Room smelled like cigarettes and BOdy odor..bathroom was a deathtrap..everything loose..toilt paper holder falling off wall mirro was inserted..cant see..ol..actual toilet was rocking back and forth ready to tip over..bed pillows were small and square....hot water had no.pressure..went to use jetted tub...mold came out of ports...breakfast was NOT cooked...looks nice from the outside..and thats it

The staff was very kind after we complained there was a barking dog in the room next door, and we were relocated to the only available option across the hall since the hotel was sold out due to a wedding. I did not like the quality of the sheets and bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked, but my husband was able to sleep without any trouble. While the room looked basically clean, it as evident it had not been dusted (bathroom sink shelf was very dusty) or properly vacuumed (flower petal was on the floor partially under one bed in the new room and several hairs were on the floor in the first room's bathroom). The bathroom sink in the 2nd room took awhile to drain properly and there was no way to pull up the stopper to help it drain faster. The TV was large and brand new (we literally had to take the plastic off the screen) but it was on a very sad looking, warped TV stand. Also the bathtub was extremely slippery, so they need to add those adhesive strips on the tub floor to insure no one slips getting in, out or during their shower. On the plus side, there was no traffic noise even though some rooms face the road, The breakfast room and food options were wonderful - it very lovely to sit in the glassed room overlooking the little falls and stand out on the deck. Would appreciate a few bedding, furniture and cleaning updates.

This hotel is in a nice location. The bed was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered was just ok. The internet was mostly good but occasionally spotty. The door was warped - both the door into the room and the doors inside. The table was broken, there were no pillows for the pull out sofa, the towels are rough and thin, and I needed to get my room key fixed every day.

I had to change rooms because the TV was broken in the first one. Both rooms were very outdated, the carpet and cloth furniture desperately needs replacing as they are visibly worn and stained. I used an extra blanket found in the closet to put over the couch before I would sit on it. The toiletries provided, (shampoo, conditioner and hand soap) came in bottles that were literally about an inch tall which isn't enough for even one person. I booked this particular room specifically because it came with a jetted tub. Unfortunately the water would only trickle out of the faucet so it took over an hour to fill. Having never used a jetted tub before I mistakenly thought I could add liquid bath soap (which I brought from home). I put in a couple of capfuls & noticed the bubbles wouldn't stop rising. I had to turn it off after they started spilling onto the floor. I had to drain it which also took forever and start over. I wasted roughly 3 hours from start to finish including sopping up the floor. I would've taken a shower but there were bugs crawling up the walls. It was a nice night & I checked to see if the windows opened thinking the sound from the water view would be nice. They opened but not one out of the five had a screen which became even more frustrating because neither heating & cooling unit worked properly. After all of that neither TV would give me more than a few basic cable channels. It did have a nice bed though 🙄

The air conditioner was broken and the maintenance guy wasn't going to be in to fix it. It was clean, but someone else in the building was in and out ALL night long and the doors don’t close soft. The tub filled up with water and wouldn’t drain. If you stay, ask for a river view. We got a room that was in a different building than the one with the river view. I bet that side was nicer.

First I never received an email to facilate check in. I called to corn my reservation and they told me I didn’t have a reservation. After going crazy looking for a confirmation and checking with other nearby properties to see if it was my mistake, I called back to just book another room, and then someone told else told me I DID in fact have a reservation. While I k ow it was a popular date, which drives up prices, the room was extremely over priced for this hotel. The room looked unvacuumed, the bathroom floor was slippery due to cleanser left on it. They gave two thin towel for a suite, no hand towels. The products were cheap. The room was dated, the walls had art work that was too small for the space. The TV in the living room was old and small. The one remote did not work. And the furniture had stains. Everything looked dated and worn and sad. The room was freezing and had a musty smell. For $600 for 1 night in Poughkeepsie with a view of the parking lot, this was really outrageous.

Great hotel for a great price point, stayed here while shooting a wedding in the Hudson Valley and it was in a great location, they allowed for an early check in for a small uncharge, room was clean, staff was friendly. Would definitely stay again.

I have stayed here multiple times. I found it adequate and pleasant in the past. Since the change in management, i am not impressed. The breakfast is not as good. Today, the coffee machine was not working properly. There was no half and half available as there has been in the past. The scrambled eggs were patties.There are no longer face clothes in the rooms and the showers don’t drain well. I love the location, but i feel like i need to find a new go to place in Poughkeepsie.
