Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Queensbury - Lake George , NY

We thought this hotel was ideal as far as location. It was right next door to Great Escape Amusement park, ice cream stand across the street, mini golf close by with go carts, roller skating, laser tag, rope course. Restaurants and bars close by. Lake George was 10 minutes away. Saratoga was approximately 20 minutes away. Our room was clean, well maintained and stocked. We had a suite with 2 Queen beds and a pull-out couch on the other side for the kids. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Free breakfast with plenty of options. The kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub, and outdoor pool as well. And the large fire pit out front was a great place to relax at night. We would definitely stay here again. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Room smelled musty. Curtains were stained. Bathroom tub rusty. On top on this toilet would not flush. Front desk staff suggest they can give plunger to do it yourself. She was extremely rude. If your plan is to enjoy the vacation, I would avoid this hotel.

Very unpleasant checkout experience: A warning to future guests: ask for and carefully review your final invoice at checkout. what happened to us made us concerned about the hotel’s process for verifying reservation changes. At checkout, the front desk employee named Kristen told us all good. But when I asked for invoice, she then told us that someone named Jonathan had called twice that morning to extend our stay. Neither my husband nor I made those calls, and the reservation was under my name. It was concerning that another person’s request could be associated with our room without proper verification. Mistakes happen, and the initial mix-up was not what bothered us most. After I clearly explained that nobody in our room had called, Kristen continued insisting that she had personally spoken with someone twice and gave us the clear impression that she did not believe what I said. I had to asked my husband to come to the desk. Kristen questioned him: “Did we speak this morning? Are you Jonathan?” After he said no, she asked him to write down his name. We went from simply checking out to feeling we had to prove we had not made a request the hotel had incorrectly associated with our room. We did not feel helped; we felt challenged over a problem we had not created. The stay had otherwise been smooth, but this checkout experience completely changed our impression of the hotel and left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. We will not stay here again.

I had requested for an earlier check in. We were told they could only do 2pm the earliest because cleaning doesn’t get done till later. The room was dated, it smelled like humidity really strong. The bathroom floor by the tub looked like it was moldy and the tub had the water stains. They definitely need to update the bathrooms but also do something about the humidity. They didn’t come to our room and clean, we asked for extra towels. The second day we told told them to please clean our room. We left several times to give them the opportunity to go in and clean. They didn’t knock on the door until 4pm, which was crazy. We left all the towels and garbage outside the door and again requested for more towels. So I would not recommend or stay at this particular hotel again.
