Hampton Inn Columbus/Delaware I-71 North

Honestly, if I wasn’t a Hilton Club member, I’d never go back to a Hilton brand hotel. The staff was preoccupied on their phones when we had questions. The blinds in our room were broke. The garbage cans in our room and the hotel overflowing. The water pressure in our shower was a trickle. Our room was never made up and we had to ask for clean towels. Customer service was extremely poor. This hotel is a poor representation of the Hilton brand and quite frankly, I was shocked at the lack of concern about the condition of our room and the overall appearance of the hotel and property. Also, I did grab some fruit at the breakfast bar, the apple and banana were both rotten. Totally disgusting.

Blinds were broken. Room looked/smelled dirty. Was still hair in the shower before I ever used it. Shower glass looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Pool was closed, even if not, pool area looked gross. Gym didn’t even have disinfecting wipes or spray to clean after use. Breakfast fruits were sour/moldy. Staff was incompetent. Elevator made you feel like you should take the stairs.

We were very disappointed that the pool was not operational during our stay, considering we booked the place specifically so the kids could go swimming while visiting and staying there. There should be a way to alert guests about amenities scheduled to be down long before their intended stay. That way, if we wanted to rebook, we could have. However, but the time we found out about it, all of the other hotels with pools in the area were booked up, or too far way! The hotel carpet was worn and smelled also.

Staff was very nice. Overall the hotel feels run down. Pool was closed, carpeting is old and peeling, bathrooms need to be updated properly and deep cleaned. Just a “tired” building overall.

Friendly staff, screwed up my request for a handicap room which I need. Stingy with towels for two and toilet clogged at 3:30 am first night, the ice was always clear, room clean. I am 5’8” tall and i find hotel beds are very high. ⚠️They do need to recheck their electrical, my husband and I both carry and need to charge 2 ea of kindle, laptops, tablets, phones and watches, my side of the bed only had 1 of 4 outlets that worked and my lamp was plugged into that. (Yes, we drank the Apple 🍎 kool-aid)⚠️ Tanger Mall nearby if you love shopping 🛍️. Lots of places to eat
