Clean hotel rooms, nice hot tub and good restaurant

No elevator for 2nd floor room was difficult. Room was decently appointed. Property exterior is somewhat dated and revolves around themed restaurant (20% meal discount incl.)

We love that they had tesla super chargers right by the pool. The hot tub and pool were great too! it was a fun double date weekend.

Clean, basic, comfortable bed. Parking is tight. Old style motel, but worked well for us. Discount given at the adjoining restaurant for breakfast.

Plenty of parking, great restaurant on site.

Easy access to highway and main roads in town. The A/C cycling on and off through the night was tiresome. Nice having a restaurant on the property, and parking can be tight at times. We didn't need it, but there is EV charging on-site.

This is a busy area. Check in was easy. Cookies and hot coffee in the lobby at 8pm was a nice touch. Staff was friendly. We ate dinner at the restaurant. Was ok. Sweet potato fries were undercooked. Burger had too much mayo on it. Again, staff was very friendly. Room was clean enough. Air conditioner very noisy but it's ok, drowned out the traffic and gas station noise. Water in the shower was hot and water pressure good. Very pet friendly place. They had a basket in the room with dog towels, a sheet to put over the bed so dog could get on it, water bowl, poop bags, and dog biscuits. Pet area near the Tesla chargers was nice and clean with plenty of grass and things to sniff, but very noisy with large air conditioner unit outside, traffic, pool area on one side and the gas station on the other. My shy pup was too distracted to do her thing the first few times, but got used to it after the 4th visit to the pet area. We could hear foot traffic upstairs. Our neighbor kept slamming his door and smoking in front of our door. Not the hotels fault by any means, but did not make for a great stay. Then he tried to talk to me on our first early morning, bra-less, big-hoodie-on visit to the pet area. Not cool dude! Read the vibes! Would stay again if I was just passing through. The price was right, pet friendly and the staff was nice. Restaurant is fun and convenient. Just have expectations of noise.

Great location, very friendly staff, nice rooms, comfy beds, awesome shower! Their partnership with the Dalles Fitness Club is incredible. We would definitely stay here again!!!! The only negative i can remember is the bathrooms not having fans....but thats a drop in the bucket for reviews. Id give this an A+ review !!!

Great value for your money. Everything was great but for the pool and sauna not being available due to maintenance.

Old and not well kept. There was a remote for the AC that did not work. Tub was very dirty.

3 strips of wallpaper were curling up in the bathroom. The faucet in the sink did not work properly and took several attempts to shut the water off. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the 2 thick and fluffy pillows on the bed.

The room (208) could use some care in the following; replace torn bed skirt, clean black scratch marks on walls, replace or get the iron stains out of the toilet, fix wall moulding tearing away from wall in bathroom, wallpaper/paint coming off walls. It makes bathroom seem dirty.

This is an older property, and the owners have made some effort to make homey improvements. We did appreciate the troughs with blooming flowers placed outside around the property. The room seemed clean when we first entered, but after we were inside a couple of minutes we noticed there was a very damp, dank unpleasant smell. The shower is kind of dingy/stained, and there was hair from two distinct people on the walls of the shower and in the tub. There was staining from water damage on the ceiling above the shower head. There was a little bit of a sewer gas smell inside the bathroom as well. The rest of the room and beds seemed clean, and the beds were comfortable. The mattresses are zipped inside protective covers. The AC and Wi-Fi worked well, and there were handy USB outlets on the lamps. We were able to park directly in front of the door to our room. After reading more recent reviews of the restaurant, we decided not to try it. Overall, I think they are doing what they can with an older property, but should focus more on careful cleaning and trying to get rid of the dank smell. The showers could also use updating. Basing this review on stays at other properties at the same rate and with similar amenities.

Our room stunk of stale cigarette smoke. It was horrible!

Sink has a large X crack in the bowl. The tub drain is so slow that you stand up to your ankles in water as you shower Our room window faces a neighboring building that has windows looking down into the room we occupied. You decide

The rooms were musty and i would not step in the shower, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The garbage can outside looked like it hadn't been dumped in weeks, it was so over flowing that people were just throwing their garbage on the ground. The only thing good about the place was the workers. They were very polite.

Large room, hard beds. Bathroom especially needs updating. Quiet.

The room was TINY! The toilet paper was right about at my arm pit & so close, you rub against it when using the toilet. The mattress was painful. When I looked at the rooms online, it showed every one at 291 sq ft, so i assumed it would be like the last time we stayed here. The gal at the desk at check out was very unprofessional. PM staff was great! We are seniors & were put upstairs. There is no elevator, or was not offered. The parking lot is all torn up & partially blocked. We've stayed before & chose it again because of that experience. We won't stay again. Very poor experience. It may be an Expedia problem for showing all of the rooms that I checked at 291 sq ft but I don't know.

Cousins' was way better than it had any right to be. Yes, this is a basic motel, but it's a cut above the chains. Convenient location, affordable, and nice rooms with refrigerator, microwave, comfortable beds. The little things they chose made a big difference to our family road trip vacation: Comfy beds, quality coffee in the lobby refreshed throughout the day (and cookies, if you like that!). Pendleton blankets on the beds. Actual coffee mugs, Portland Roasting coffee, glass not plastic for water, that sort of thing. Shower not tiny and decent showerhead mounted up high, great not to have the water in the middle of my chest, ha! Instead of "free continental breakfast" you get a coupon to the really cool diner restaurant onsite, traditional breakfast foods, also to-go bakery with huge cinnamon rolls, etc. No one will leave hungry! Saloon bar for the grownups, not open super late, not rowdy. Outdoor pool, covered hot tub, even some little toys for the kids; only 7 of 10 for clean and I got the sense some locals not staying at the hotel were "allowed" there, made it kind of crowded and not as family-friendly as the rest of property. Downsides: A/C VERY noisy. Suggest earplugs. Not a lot of soundproofing. loud kids running upstairs etc. We had kids too so can't complain much. Would not make a great business / working hotel: Wifi so-so, limited outlets, no desk, only 1 wall lamp for the whole room. Didn't impact us. Would return when in the area again!

Uncomfortable beds

The deluxe king with vaulted ceilings was roomy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again

The big downside was the air conditioning. It was so loud, it made it hard to sleep. Tried adjusting but even on lowest setting was way too loud.

Excellent little place to stop for the night. Rooms are nothing exotic but decently appointed. Beds are good. The showers are among the best I’ve found in a hotel. My only complaint is the WiFi is a little weak. Will definitely stay here again

The restaurant has amazing food, the chicken and waffles were the best we've ever had. We didn't like how thin the walls were, we were able to hear every sound from our neighbors room.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone and everything was very welcoming, so friendly. Will definitely stay again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly.

The front door lock did not work. The girl who gave me new keys was rude. The door opened but then wouldn't lock. We had to use a chair to secure the door for the night.

Check-in errors led to many trips to get key cards changed, a man not in our party was given the same room and unlocked our door which fortunately had the security bar in place. I had to make three trips to the office to get key cards replaced. The first room we were given had only one bed and was being occupied by someone else. All in all a very bad experience

Upon check in, after already traveling, we were told that our reservation would not be honored, because we are locals. This is a ludicrous policy, and was not told to use upon reserving. be honored because we are locals

All staff we dealt with were friendly and courteous,

No one at front desk when we arrived. Waited for at least 10 minutes - looked around to see if perhaps they were in the restaurant, but finally they arrived. Came back to ask a question a half hour later and same thing... waited and waited for someone to come to the desk. There is no "bell" or way to alert them. Parking is really tight. We arrived at 9 pm and got the only parking space, which was about as far away from our room as we could be. I wasn't feeling well, so this just added to my long day. It was a holiday weekend and very noisy outside, but our room was remarkably quiet and the bed was very comfy.

The staff in both the motel and restaurant were OUTSTANDING!

The front desk staff, restaurant staff were so nice. Pool was warm, loved the hot tub as well. Will definitely stay again.

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly front desk staff. Good location for visit to Columbia River Gorge. Would highly recommend this hotel.

From driving for hours through beautiful wide open empty land we suddenly found ourselves in the busiest surprising crossroads of restaurants and lodging and car dealerships with this fantastically huge motel out of proportion to anything we’d expected. It’s fine here thanks

Center location, clean room, lounge and restaurant on site

This is a very well maintained older property. It has nice amenities, including a larger refrigerator, microwave, keurig coffee maker. The bed is comfortable, the room is spacious. The decor is dated but in great condition, clean and well kept. I had a shower, no tub, in my room, but I don’t need a bathtub. There is a nice restaurant on site and they offered 20% discount at breakfast for guests. Convenient location near services and restaurants and freeway.the front desk personnel were friendly and efficient.

Overall note a bad place. Needs to update the floor maps, they don’t have any ice machines on site. Restaurant on site is nice, but pricey for what you get. But due to a lack of other options within walking distance you have to make due.

This is a very nice property with a wonderful restaurant on the premises. It had everything we needed, and the staff in the motel and the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again.

This hotel/restaurant has become our "midway" stop when traveling through north Oregon. Truthfully, the biggest selling point is their restaurant - yummy food! The rooms are ok.

The stay was adequate, but there are a few areas that need improvement. The room itself was very small, and the fabric shower curtain was concerning. Since it never fully dries, it left the bathroom with a strong damp odor that became noticeable as soon as I entered the room. At first, I assumed it was the carpet, but it turned out to be from the bathroom. At check-in, I received a voucher for 20% off breakfast. However, when I went to use it the next morning, the discount applied only to entrées—not to coffee or pastries. This limitation was not stated anywhere on the coupon. Additionally, the pastry display had not been refreshed; I recognized the same tray from the night before, which raised questions about freshness. While the staff were polite, these details detracted from the overall experience.

This is an enormous complex of motel rooms, close to the hwy and with a restaurant on site. I didn't like having to haul my luggage upstairs, but otherwise it was good. Restaurant service was very slow. You get a discount for breakfast if you stay in the motel, but even though it wasn't crowded they make you wait to be seated. Maybe they are short staffed.
