It was under renovation and parking lot was filled with trailers making parking inconvenient. Entrance clustered with large boxes relating to remodel. Only third floor available and with rooms not yet renovated so moldings falling from wall as well as a general desperate need for maintenance. Arrived for breakfast 15 minutes before closing only to find half the trays empty with no one refilling them therefore relegated to a very disappointing meal. elevators needed vacuuming with litter on floor during entire stay. Worst experience ever at a hotel and most disappointing was fact that there was no mention of renovation when booking. Just booked trip to Cancun with Expedia and can only pray no such similar fate awaits me. I truly feel like I was duped and am somewhat angry about that, first time for such a disappointment with your services and may have to consider different approach for future bookings. I would give this Holiday Inn 10 stars. It was clean, staff were very nice and welcoming, all inclusive breakfast was A , the pool was nice, free laundry room, etc. If your in Sumter, South Carolina definitely stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

All was good as usual when staying at Holiday Inn. Jordan, our check-in person was friendly, efficient, and ready to help with questions. Breakfast was great with a very cheery helper (at 6:30). There were two big shipping containers out front which made going in and out a little more difficult, but they were undergoing refurbishing, which may explain that.

Friendly staff. Excellent location, which is near several restaurants within walking or driving distance. Sizable room. The free breakfast is a plus but it is limited in the options. The hotel is currently under renovation but from the layout it appears that it will amazing once completed.

Clean up the parking lot and do a better job of vacuuming the rooms (behind the beds). Spray for roaches, as we observed several. Clean out the pool to eliminate the sand, and sanitize the pool. Put a trash can in the gym to prevent trash from going where towels should go. Service the elevators.

Bathroom was not clean. White dried up stain or solution all over the bathroom. Need repairs in shower/tub. Suggest replacing shower/tub. Items from previous guest left under couch. All the furniture was chipped and damaged. Knobs missing from cabinet in sink area.

At 2am in the morning as I was taking my shower I noticed that around the soap and shampoo dispenser black mold!!! It was too early for me to leave and too late to change rooms.

The hotel was dirty. The carpets were disgusting especially in the elevator- not even vacuumed. Dirt on the floor. I saw a cockroach in the room. Couldn’t get out of there faster. Thanks god it was just one night.

The room was not clean. Candy on the floor, toilet had bowl mess still on it, hair in the shower and lots of dust. This should not be the case with the amount charged at these hotels. We often stay here and this was just not clean. Good thing I travel with Lysol and bleach wipes.

The night worker who checked us in, she was amazing. She was a black lady with a white patch on her stylish hair, don't know her name so want her to get the praise she deserves. She was amazing. She checked us in with a beautiful smile, helped us with getting extra bedding and my son for got his tooth brush and my husband his razor, so she helped with that too. Not once did she look or sound sour. She has the personality of a saint! She is why I even gave this place a 3. The bathroom was so dirty I didn't let my kids take a bath in there. The black bathroom mold was gross! The blankets smelled gross and musty. The beds were ok though. The counter and sink was clean too but the fridge was filthy and the walls damaged. Will I return? If I do, it will be to meet that lady again. She was the kindest. My family is dairy free so the breakfast was not for us.

The room and the staff were awesome. The breakfast buffet can’t be beat. The only issue was that the doors slam hard and one night I got almost no sleep. We were ground floor at the end of hall. Between people coming and going out the side door and the room doors slamming, not much rest. The traffic noise is pretty loud too. I would suggest installing the hinge that other hotels have on their doors. Unless you hold onto the door, it slams very hard

This is an older building but they take care of it. The employees are sooooo freaking friendly and kind. I had an issue with the tub not draining and I mentioned it on my way out and when I came back a couple of hours later it was already taken car of.

The staff was great. We got there at 1 but had an event that we had to attend at 3. We spoke with the staff and they were able to accommodate an early check in of 2pm which allowed us time to get dressed in enough time for our event. Room was comfortable, only odd was that they could have used a new tub in the room we were in.

The property is nice. The rooms were clean for the most part. One bed felt like it had crumbs in it, so we swept the sheets off. The bathroom was clean, but the shelves in the bathroom could use some dusting. Beds slept great! And our kids really enjoyed the breakfast options.

Our only complaint was the breakfast. When the stuff was on the bar it was good but there wasn’t that many people eating and all the core stuff was empty and had to wait a while to get fresh food. Luckily we weren’t in a hurry and the lady working the kitchen was friendly but it was a little disappointing waiting 20 minutes for cheese omelets.
