Homewood Suites by Hilton Amarillo

Insane that the outdoor pool was closed and not open during busiest graduation week in Texas May 10-18. It was 90 degrees and we planned on swimming only to find the pool empty and told it does not open until June 1. This important detail was no where on the main page, had to hunt to find it in very small print on another page. Very disappointing!

Pamela welcomed us with 2 cold bottles of water, which were much needed in the heat. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great. Could have used more towels! If you go to the pool (needed to be skimmed for the bugs), you have to get them from the front desk, do that at check-in! We had only 2 towels during our stay, but found some extras in the exercise room. Breakfast was pretty good. Overall, we loved the room and the desk space. We did have a lot of issues with our room cards not working.

Everything was awesome, but the pool wasn’t open

Heads up a 50 dollar incidental fee that is not optional. Told it would be refunded immediately. No, it doesn't. it depends on your bank. Hotel had a weird smell to it. Key cards didnt work most of the time. Digital key worked once. Pool was dirty. Pool towels are the size of a dinner napkin. Pet fee is 75 plus tax. It is NOT a deposit. Waffles were amazing. Taste of the other food was not the greatest. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms were clean.

The outside is under construction and so it’s really messy

Construction on second floor. Lobby elevator not available to the second floor. Counter person didn’t mention that when assigning my second floor room. After unloading the car at the lobby, was informed I need to use the west end elevator at the opposite end of the property. I should have been told all of this at check in and driver my car to the other end of the building to unload. My reserved room was deluxe studio suite, what got was a deluxe 1 bedroom suite. The entire layout was not what reserved. The wall and bedroom door cut the suite in half and makes it very tight instead of wide open.

Would definitely stay here again. Just a bummer the pool was down.

Internet did not work for us in room or by front desk! First time we have had that issue. Front desk tried to help to no avail. Loved having two separate tv’s in two rooms! Breakfast was good! Hotel staff was friendly.

Stayed a weekend, pool was open but needed maintenance (very dirty). Second floor suites smelled horrible. The only thing that was great was the staff and breakfast :)

Impressed with pleasant staff! Each interaction-,A+! I wanted to really like the hotel but overall it was only ok. This was my second stay and just not impressed, especially for the cost. The room wasn't the cleanest with dust collected in corners, questionable shower floor (glad I had crocs to wear!), hair on bathroom walls. Also, there was an odd smell throughout hotel. I have a sensitive nose so it may smell fine to most.

We stayed here once and then decided to stay another night when passing through Amarillo. The first time was great. This last time we checked in the the room there was food in the fridge from I assume, previous guests. There was a wash rag in the bathroom that was used and hair in the bathtub walls. I’m sure it was not intentional or probably missed by the cleaning employees but it would have been a better experience if it was all attended. Overall it was an okay stay besides that.

The hotel area and rooms were very clean and updated. The room showed no wear and tear and was very comfortable.

Extreme disappointment with the service and cleanliness at Homewood during my recent stay on July 29, 2024. My experience fell far below the standards I expect from a Hilton hotel of your reputation. Upon check-in the process took an hour, which was an unacceptable delay after a long day of travel. Arrival time was 11:11 pm and was checked in close to 12:00 am. Furthermore, when I finally entered my room, I was appalled to find that the bed sheets had blood stains and stains on pillow cases. The room itself was not clean. This is both unsanitary and unacceptable. When I brought this issue to the attention of the front desk, rather than arranging for another room or sending housekeeping to address the problem. I was told to pick up new sheets myself at 12:30am. This lack of proper service and comfort is deeply troubling. I request a full refund for my stay and a formal apology for the inconvenience and distress caused by these issues to me and my family.

It was clean but no room service for 3 days , so it had a little trash can so you had to take out your trash. Had a to ask for clean towels. Because they only give you two.

Smelled like sewage, huge spaces around door openings letting in light and noise. Carpet filthy, old food left in fridge. Do not believe good ratings, this place is terrible. Avoid.

Beautiful hotel and extremely clean and well maintained

Our stay started off good, but we later found 2 different hidden old dried blood spots on an extra pillow & the comforter. When communicating with the GM, she accused us because we didn’t report the first incident the night before. Then, stated we would not be refunded due to booking with Expedia & accidentally selecting the wrong guest amount. Zero responsibility was taken, not even a sincere apology. And she did not care how unsanitary & dangerous a strangers blood is consideration all the evidence we had presented. I also have screenshots of her very rude email! Do not book this location ever!

Really spacious 1 bedroom suite with fully equipped mini kitchen - recently updated- pleasant surprise!

The stay was pretty good! The only 2 things I could complain about is the tub was very old and looked extremely dirty (even though it wasn’t) and the tv screen was all messed up like it had been dropped or something!

Very nice room and hotel. The room was so comfy and so clean, it’s such a great value. Really enjoyed having extra space and everything was working properly. The staff was friendly and nice amenities. It’s close to the interstate and we had a room facing the road but the noise level was so low, we could barely hear it. It didn’t bother us at all. Will stay here over other places if we visit Amarillo again. Highly recommend!

I like the living room, kitchen and bedroom separation with a good breakfast

The stay overall was good. My only complaint is that you can hear everything from the room on top of us.

The noise levels in the rooms were unbearable. I could hear every step from the room above, with constant creaking throughout the night, which made it impossible to get any sleep. On top of that, the pull-out sofa was a spring-based design and so uncomfortable that it was impossible to rest on it for more than a few minutes. Overall, this place is a nightmare for light sleepers, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a restful stay.

It was nice to be given a ground floor room, as we travel with a lot of medical equipment and a dog. Very happy with how the “suite” was laid out. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were all extremely friendly. Free breakfast was very good too.

The bed in the room needs replacing, it sags badly in the middle. The tv started working the 2nd night so that helped

We were put in a room next to the elevator and it kept us up all night. We had a dog also, and it just agitated our dog. Lady at front desk was not very friendly

Don’t stay! The worst customer service I have ever seen. The management here is only for themselves and making as much money on your rooms as they can. They will pretend to be your best friend but if something goes wrong the management will become evil on you and blame everything on the customer. Horrible horrible customer service. I would steer clear of this hotel until management changes.

The staff was wonderful! Pamela checked us in and she was kind and helpful. The lady that checked us out and those serving breakfast were also excellent.

The location was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. However, the alarms would randomly go off for no apparent reason. A suggestion for improvement: The notice on the laundry room door should mention that an ID is required to gain access. When I went to use the facility, the sign stated that a key was needed and could be obtained at the front desk—no problem. However, when I went down, no one was there, and I had to wait about five minutes for someone to appear. That’s when I was told I also needed my ID. I went back up to my room—fortunately, it was near the elevator—grabbed my ID, and returned to the front desk, only to find that the staff member had disappeared again. I waited another five minutes. Two cleaning staff members (off the clock) arrived but didn’t acknowledge me. When the front desk employee finally returned, she spoke in Spanish with the cleaning staff, making rude remarks about me, assuming I wouldn’t understand. When I let them know I did, they were shocked and nervous, expecting me to make a scene as more guests arrived. By that point, I was exhausted. I just wanted to do my laundry so I could pack and head home the next morning. Another suggestion: If staff need to step away, a sign indicating when they’ll return would be helpful. I’m a patient person and understand if someone needs a break, but clear communication would improve the experience.

Clean room, kind staff, warm reception

Pamela at the front desk was wonderful. Courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. What a treat after a long day in the road!

The management to this hotel absolutely sucks! All they care about is getting in your wallet, I gave my credit card one time and they charged my card over $800 and locked my card, it was on the weekend so I couldn’t contact bank so i was screwed because of them. But when they couldn’t get that money every employee in that hotel was rude aggressive, very disrespectful and clearly blamed all the issues on me and me out to be a bad person. I got my card straight and paid for my room and the next morning I get an email saying I had to leave and they refused to honor my new reservation I made the next night. Check out is at noon and they are so damn rude and disrespectful that two employees came to my room at 10:00am on day they told me I wasn’t allowed to stay there banged on my damn door to tell me in person I was to be checked out at noon and they would not honor my new reservation. All this because they screwed me and pretended it was 100% my fault. The general manager and manager Anita are by far the worlds worse customer relations people I have ever met. They will play you and talk u up like you mean something to them and if something goes wrong you better watch out because the evil will come out and see you. Please don’t stay at this hotel for your own good unless management changes quick.

We only stayed a couple of nights because we were going to a wedding, but its location was good for those who are staying for shopping and stuff. Close to movies, mall, restaurants, etc. Room was clean and front desk was nice. The only thing I wish it had was a vent for when you shower other than that it was good.

Lovely inside. Outside, not so much. The pet area stunk like high heaven from a ways away. And the pool area, closed for the season, was in disarray which was the view from upper floors.

Great hotel to stay at on the way through Amarillo.

Good location.

Spacious suite with full equipped kitchen and have dishes to use. Full size refrigerator and sofa bed available. Some towels that we got are stained and had to be exchanged at front desk. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and had options between scrambled eggs, cereals, waffles, oats, fruits. Right off I-40 if you are trying to use this just as a layover onto your destination. Right across the road from sam's club. Parking is well lit on the front but didn't feel that secure on the back

Best mattress I've slept on in years! Location is excellent and rooms are spacious and nicely appointed.

There was a slight mix up with information sent from Expedia to the hotel. The staff was amazing, got it fixed in a few minutes and treated us like family. We visit the area a few times a year, and we will definitely stay here again! Close to the mall, free breakfast, and comfortable beds. It's everything you need in a hotel stay, in Amarillo.

Best hot breakfast

Great and quite room. Breakfast made my morning, those biscuits were excellent and so was the gravy. Everything hot and fresh (unlike their neighbors next door gag!) The gentleman running the kitchen and very friendly and polite even took my dishes for me. Real plates not plastic plates. Love this place.

Microwave didn’t work and the breakfast was a joke, other than that a clean and good stay.

Hilton never disappoints. Super clean and kept. Love the breakfast. The pet friendly facilities are always a winner.

The breakfast can be better. Not very many option such as oatmeal, with toppings, the fruit was not that fresh.

Stayed for one night as a stop over to Missouri. Staff was very nice, bed was probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve ever slept on, breakfast was blah, would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful!!! Except I couldn’t log onto Wi-Fi and night person didn’t seem at all concerned. Also eggs were waaaaay overcooked at breakfast buffet.
