Cactus Cove Inn and Suites

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. They had a dart tournament going on all night long. They informed me upon arrival that there would be a dart tournament, but they had never informed me that the PA system would be right outside of my room and that there would be no way I could sleep at all. This was an absolute joke and I am requesting a refund

The blinds don’t shut all the way. The blinds are also cut around the door knob like some ghetto contractors installed them. Bathroom door doesn’t shut. Electrical outlets are loose and I was unable to use the ones by the bed for my charger. The pool was full of hair and thousands of paint chips from the cheap paint they tried using on the pool deck. The water in the pool was so cloudy that you couldn’t even see your feet.

This cute boutique hotel was everything I read. Loved the amenities: indoor pool, indoor “courtyard,” putt putt golf, fountain. They had a complimentary continental breakfast, but found the paid hot options very affordable and tasty. It’s in a good location near everything.

It's a great family hotel. Swimming pool, play house, water slide and a dry tube slide for the kids. It is a little loud from the kids playing. It got quiet at 10 pm. No cable TV channels, only 5 channels and they don't come in well. A little mold around the bathtub. We would stay here again. Some areas around Amarillo are pretty sketchy, this appealed to be safer than most areas

We love the cactus cove! We stay here pretty frequently! There is lots of life in the hotel and it’s constantly bustling with high energy! Our first night there was a wrestling in the atrium and our second night what can only be described as the birthday rager of the century! Our kids enjoy the pool and the multidue of things to do in the atrium! As locals we love being able to take our kids for staycations here as often as we can!

There was a little trouble at the beginning, getting the room key to work. This is my second time at Cactus Cove Inn. I love what they’re doing with the place providing all the entertainment for people of all ages. I will say they’ve been under construction since December 2022 I guess that is because they are family instead of big business. Not necessarily a bad thing. Must fix the cornhole bags. The amenities alone will keep us coming back.

Cute hotel with a put put golf, relaxing chairs and swings. An indoor heated pool. Food was great, drinks were great. Self checkin which is awesome. Would absolutely stay here again.

Staff was friendly. Pool was late opening for the day, restraunt closed at 9:45 instead of designated 10:30. Bathroom threshold was broken and came off. Bathroom door would not close. Bathroom shower head and faucet were very loose, faucet was held on by caulking. Pool was very dirty and had MULTIPLE clumps of hair in the water.

Dirty run down rooms. I'm pretty sure there was blood on one of the lampshades in our room.

This hotel is incredibly run down. The outside looks promising but do not trust it. The hotel is very old. Needs renovation everywhere. The rooms are dirty, didn’t seem like anything was cleaned when we arrived. It was just folded up and set up to “look clean”. A small rat was roaming the restroom but given it was our last day there we didn’t say anything. I would never come back here.

This property is dirty. The public spaces, floors, carpets, doors, elevators, are all dirty. Even the Fire Extinguishers the glass covers are broken. I checked in, the elevators closest to my room were broken, the other elevators were dirty, walls, doors, with dirty broken tiles. My room smelled like mold, and old cigarettes with holes in the bathroom door. I turned around heaved my luggage back to my car and informed the front desk I was leaving. Dirty, dirty, and the pictures are not of the current condition of the hotel.

Who ever photographed the property is amazing. It looks nothing like the pictures Tired worn out smelly I slept in my shoes The floors are disgusting

My opinions are certainly my own so here’s my good and bad. The restaurant is connected to the hotel. They have fantastic food and service. Super cute and worth every penny. However, the atmosphere of the hotel has an ideal theme but the hotel is very dirty. The kid areas such as the pool and playground were nice but they allow vaping and sell them in the hotel. The place smelled extremely strong of marijuana and vape smoke. Cigarette smell was overwhelming in our room. The internet was down or lagging so we had no TV. The rooms are not modern and the bathroom tub has mold in the calking. The beds are ok but not real comfortable. If you don’t mind marijuana, vapes and cigarettes then it may not bother you as it did me. Someone was having a birthday party and the kids loved the pool area and playground so that is a plus. We have not tried breakfast yet but the breakfast area looks decent. The small shop has great prices for boutique clothes. The mini golf is cute for the kids. Overall Amarillo in this area is very dirty and the people are not very friendly so the hotel seems to match the atmosphere. There’s a lot of trash in the parking lot around the hotel. It was nice to sit inside and watch my child swim so that’s a plus for all seasons. This place would be such a win if it was kept clean and didn’t allow smoking inside. It truly has a kid vibe but in my opinion places that advertise as kid amenities should not allow smoking in the establishment and clean it.

The hotel appeared to be under construction. The carpet in our room was damp, shower was missing tiles, wall paint was scratched up. At least the sheets were clean.

The hotel was old and not unkept. Our first room was not properly cleaned and had throw up on the wall. When we brought it up to the front desk they did give us a new room. It was under renovations, but seemed run down. Breakfast was mid

The room smelled musty. The atrium was nice and well maintained, but the rooms were outdated and in rough shape.

Compared to our first impression of the lobby/common areas, our room was rough. Outlets falling out of the wall, tons of ceiling patches, dirty carpet, and it was obvious the cleaning crew uses dirty rags to clean based on the smeared swipes across the mirror and microwave.

It was okay. There were roaches in the restroom.

The room had very sheer curtains and we could see and hear people walking by all night and you could see into the room when the lights were on. The outlets by the bed did not work and there is no ventilation in the bathroom so everything in the room was moist. We laid on the bed and it was damp. It does look like the pictures but the pictures are deceiving. It looks like it used to be pretty bad and they just slapped a coat of paint on everything. I will say the restaraunt in there is very nice and we had a great time there!

There was no phone and the TV cable did not work at all.

This is an awesome facility. Pet friendly and nice free breakfast or you can upgrade to cooked choices for 9.99. Rooms need remodeling and ours was damp. Floor, bedding and our clothes the next morning. Maybe they’d just shampooed or something - will say again when going through Amarillo. Close to restaurants and Bucees

Broken tiles on the floor Room smelled like a pet (dog) Walls had cracked/patched Sheetrock Shower handle covers torn from the wall Torn carpet Front door lock did not work Coffee pot did not work Lighting was terrible Beds were double not queen Shower water kept going hot and cold --Had dinner at the western horsemen restaurant (in-house) and bill was generated from newly printed menus, but customers order from the old menus and they didn't change the charges.

We loved the pool, playground, breakfast, and fish fountain! The staff was also friendly and the mural was cute. Gift shop was adorable!! Our rooms, however, were WORN DOWN. They definitely still need work. They were clean but the bedding was definitely worn down and stained a bit…. The walls had holes and nails sticking out just sitting there. The bathtub was also worn down. Let me be clear, though, there is effort. There are signs of improvement and the people who run the place are certainly trying to make it better. The rooms will need a LOT of work but we are satisfied with the staff and service. Things are getting better with this place but the rooms DEFINITELY still need a facelift. The parking lot is also a bit crowded and messy.

I really like the convenience of getting on and off I40. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. However, we have stayed here 3 times in 6 weeks and there have been issues with the TV every time. For older people who have driven far and just want to relax, this is very frustrating!

Room was clean and very spaces. Enjoyed having a restaurant attached to the hotel. After long day of traveling very convenient not having to get back in the car. Great service was a plus..

The room was beautifully renovated. The beds were very comfortable. It was quiet in our room, even though there is a bar/Restaurant down stairs. The property is still in the process of being renovated, but it was very beautiful & peaceful. The only problem we had was housekeeping letting herself into our room before checkout time at 11am. It was still a great stay! Would definitely stay there again

The location is nice and the pool is a highlight. The breakfast is very basic (waffles, cereal, bagels, toast), but you can purchase hot food like scrambled eggs and bacon. We didn’t like the smell in the room, and the bathroom could use some TLC. The bed was okay, but it was quite noisy at night since it’s right in front of the pool — we heard people walking and running. If you’re traveling with little kids, this place might work for you. We stayed just one night and slept okay overall.

Google maps tried to have us park at the horse museum and walk. It's a little weird and confusing finding the doors and your room. They're definitely updating it and have done a great job on the shared areas. We had an updated room but it still needed a lot of little things to be finished. The main thing though was the beds were full size not queen and ours was horribly squeaky and uncomfortable. Also there is literally 2 mins of hot water per shower as other guests have said.

Was given a room that had not been visited by housekeeping (beds unmade, empty bottles and trash on table, used towels on floor). When I visited the front desk to notify, there was no apology or explanation given before I was provided with a new room and door code (no keycards). Upon being provided this new door code, I was told to wait 30 seconds and try again if the code didn’t work, a warning that I had not been given upon checking in to the first room, perhaps indicating that the staff was aware of a problem with the keypad for this second room. Door code then did not work for the new room and also I could see through the blinds that this second room had also not been visited by housekeeping. At that point, I returned to the front desk, placed my card with door code on the desk, then requested that I be issued a refund. Proximity of property to Quarter Horse museum and offices seems convenient as well as fun decor and a lively bar/dance club on the property, so I had been excited to stay here before this unfortunate situation occurred with my room.

The rooms on the property look nothing as advertised. They’re old, dark, and lacking significantly on amenities. My room didn’t even have toilet paper on the roll. But an empty one. There was a wedding and children’s party going on in the common area in the middle of all the rooms. There was no warning or accommodation for this. I was placed directly in front of the children’s party, which was still going on at 830pm. I explained to the desk I had been traveling for days and would like a quieter room. I was then moved to a somehow, worse room that was directly in front of the weddings DJ booth. After walking to the new room and back to the front desk 3 times, the on-site manager? Came running over with a laugh about how I was moved to this room… and then another laugh about how the codes don’t work. At this point I requested some compensation and was told “of course” - which was never followed through on. I tried to follow up on this myself when I went to checkout the next morning, but there was no one at the desk… either of the two times I went. In all - I can’t believe the lack of customer service and amenities, given what they are charging a night for this place. Extremely disappointing.

The stay was great we had to change rooms because it smelt like cigarette smoke. Ciara at the front desk was very polite and friendly she moved us into a different room without hesitation. And I would say housekeeping could do better on cleaning

Everything went well up until i checked out apparently the house keeper said my room smelled like Marijuana when i don't even partake in those activities, for personal reasons when i spoke to the manager Isabel about the ordeal she then proceeded to try and argue with me very unprofessional. She also said there was ashes in the trash can in the bathroom. They took $100 out of my account for the incident. When i stepped out the room it smelled like Marijuana in the hall and the elevator. I strongly believe they got the wrong room, it smelled stale or musty in the room when i checked in. However I do alot of traveling to this area and I will never be back, and i will advise my friends and family to do the same. Stay blessed.

I have stayed here several times. Any time I'm here for work this is my place. I've had a few minor things i could complain about but life isn't always perfect and I'm not big on worrying about the little things. I'll keep coming back. A plus is the restaurant connected to the hotel. Haven't found a dish yet i wouldn't order again and the staff is awesome.

Very happy that a room was found for the 1st room they gave me was still occupied. And arrangements where made.

Staff was knowledgeable and courteous

We’ve stayed here twice now and feel so comfortable here. The staff is so nice and helpful! We’ve always felt safe and my toddler loved the indoor playground they have added and the fish. I wish the breakfast included the eggs and ala carte stuff with the continental stuff instead of having to pay extra for those individually.

Good stay. Was recently remodeled and looked nice. You can tell it was just touch ups but still looked nice. We got in late at night and parking was full but found a spot. We got in with a code. Didn’t even go up to the front desk. The door and lock was a little loose and sketchy but it locked nonetheless. Comfortable beds and nice tv with a mini fridge. The air unit was towards the back of the room so was a little tough to get cool air towards the front of the room. Other than that was a good stay. Would recommend if you need a fast booking in the heart of Amarillo and with easy fast access to the room! And was decent price for how little time I gave myself to book.

I chose it for the price and the fact that there was a shuttle to the airport! I didn’t realize that it would be as cool as it was! I’ll definitely be back, and hopefully when I can stay for breakfast!😄

Great price. Easy to access to the interstate. Staff was super nice. Bar was loud, but seemed like a great scene if we didn’t have to be up by 5am we would’ve enjoyed it. Didn’t use anything there as we only were there to sleep and get ready.

Checking in was easy after we found the place. The clerk was very helpful in getting us a room. This place would be a fun place for kids to enjoy. A family could stay a few days because the environment was like being outside when you're inside. The plants and swimming pool being inside looked very inviting. It has a Western or farm environment and decor. The beds were very comfortable. Rooms were comfortable, plenty of parking and a safe environment.

Finding the motel was very difficult as no signage for Cactus Cove. The check in staff were very nice and helpful but this place is awful! Carpet dirty and badly warped in hallway. There was a strange type lock and metal reinforcement on the door. The room was clean but furniture was chipped and badly place. I used the bath mat as a rug by the bed. Coming in the outside side door I wasn’t sure if it was the right place as it was covered with a sign for massage parlor. I most certainly wouldn’t have stayed here if I could have gotten a refund. I also didn’t receive my debit card back and didn’t realize till I was fueling my car next morning down the road. I called back and they said they didn’t have it. I had to cancel my card.

The cactus cove was a nice stop on our way home. It had plenty of restaurants nearby and a Very friendly staff.

Stopped for an overnight stay while traveling. My first time doing self check-in. It was efficient and easy. It appears that they are in a remodeling mode. One negative was the road noise from the interstate highway. We were on the side closest to the highway. If this seems like it could be a problem for you, I would request a room on the opposite side. Overall, it worked great for our needs.

Made to order breakfast at a reasonable price.

The breakfast was excellent-bacon, sausage ,eggs,toast,biscuits, waffles,cereal, Fruit , oatmeal everything you would want!. Our daughter loved the pool, putput, indoor playground and pool. Cleanliness could be a tad better. The pool needed a cleaning and rooms need a fresh coat of paint and new pillows and a good detailing. But the staff was excellent and overall for the price very worth it!

Beautiful downstairs area, although could use maintenance. Hot breakfast costs extra.

It’s our third time in this hotel. The location it’s convenient and overall it’s a pleasant stay. My only complaint is the water… we can’t enjoy a hot shower… during peak hours there’s no hot water. The restaurant it’s sooo good, if you go to this Hotel, I highly recommend the restaurant.

The hotel itself was good and we will stay here again. It was nice to have an area for kids as we have 2 littles that enjoy running around. We were not expecting the party atmosphere when evening hit but that was a minor thing. The rooms are fairly quiet unless someone is sprinting and screaming in front of your door. Beds were cleans, bathroom was clean, floors were clean. Breakfast was limited but did have a nice choice at the grill for an additional cost.
