This hotel is always above average. It’s the perfect location for doing anything on the VT campus. You can walk to anything. Lane stadium is walkable if you are in decent shape. The grounds are beautiful and constantly maintained. The rooms are top notch and the beds are comfortable. The fitness center has more than most hotels which gives you enough for a decent workout while staying. I love this place. There are times when it is hard to book or when the prices are super high due to moving in or out or events/home games, but I always love staying there when I can get a decent rate.

The Inn is our favorite place to stay when visit Va Tech. It is clean, the breakfast buffet is both delicious and in a beautiful, relaxing setting, and it is convenient to campus and restaurants. They have a couple ev chargers in the parking lot and thoughtful amenities, such as umbrellas and a drying stations (fresh rolled towels in the lobby for rainy days.

The AC in the room won’t cool below 70, room is a little warm and stuffy for me. Waited several minutes at the bar that was unattended for services. Asked an employee if a bartender was around -‘other patrons had cocktails. She was not sure. Bartender showed up. She was great.

The morning of check out the hotel lost power. I had taken a shower and was unable to dry my hair or get myself and my clothes ready for the multiple interviews that I had that day. The hotel did not have emergency lighting in the area that I was in and did not have a generator, or at least a working generator. No explanation or information was provided.

The Inn is a great place to stay while visiting VA Tech. The staff and service are excellent. Haley at Preston's dining was outstanding! I'm sure it's not the norm but they were having problems with the hot water heater during our stay. I had two very early mornings where there was no hot water. A cold shower in February is not ideal. To be fair the front desk informed us that the hot water heater was being replaced but they said you would have to let your water run to get hot.... it never got hot. : ) Still overall it was a great visit and the Inn is a top location to stay while visiting VA Tech.

Great place to stay while we visited our daughter on campus for her birthday. Great rooms and nice gym too. Staff was friendly and even stored our daughters birthday cake for us until we needed it.

Everything was very good. I think the mattress are a bit to soft. When I stay at the hotel, I find it hard to sleep through the night. So, only that the mattress and pillows could be a bit more firm.

Very pretty hotel! I would have given it 5-stars if it didn’t have a crunchy plastic mattress cover on the mattresses! Every time I rolled over, I felt and heard it crunching which was very annoying.

The property is very nice, however, when we booked a bedroom with two queen sized beds, we expected queen sized, not full beds. My husband is 6’4” and 245 lbs and we barely fit together on the bed (we have slept in a regulation queen sized bed for 36 years and always have plenty of room). When I pointed the size of the bed out to the staff we were told there were no other rooms available and were not offered any other type of compensation.

The Inn at Virginia Tech is exactly what you might expect from a hotel that's not been significantly renovated in a couple of decades. It's old-school alumni/football weekend campus lodging, but the facilities are well-kept and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We didn't find the chairs in our room (one to lounge, one more of a dining table chair of sorts, and one desk chair) to be terribly comfortable, and it would've been great if the TVs had had some sort of ability to stream (using our accounts), as some more recently refreshed hotels do now. We also noticed the hinge on the bathroom door desperately needed a shot of WD40. All that said, we had three comfortable-ish nights here and would probably choose to stay here again if we were in town.

I always love staying at the Inn. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Best night of sleep I've gotten in months. Right on the edge of campus across the street from the University Mall. Easy access to shopping and dining options. My only wish is that there were complimentary bottled water in the rooms.

All great except the a/c in our room would not go below 75° (we set it at 70°) which is too warm for sleeping. No one slept because we were too sweaty. Not sure if it was just our room malfunctioning? Staff were friendly & place was immaculately clean.

Very nice stay, as usual at The Inn at Virginia Tech. I had an issue with a sink backing up, and the gentleman working at midnight quickly got me another room next door. He’s a valuable asset to the hotel. It’s always a nice stay when I visit Blacksburg.

We stayed two nights. We left the room at 10:30am with the maid service outside of our door. We greeted them. Returned to our room at 9:30 pm to find no maid service. Trash and dirty towels still laying there. We are staying at the Inn of VT not a little motel on the side of the highway. Also when we left on Sunday no coffee available in the free coffee area!

I liked everything especially our sercers at the breakfast buffet, however the woman at the front desk at check out was less than helpful when I asked her about a location on campus she never pointed me to her complimentary map just said she "didn;t know"..very unhelpful!!

The front desk manager is unhelpful, rude, and didn’t help the poor girl at the front desk who had 5 people waiting in line to check in. No kidding! Took forever. I think the manager’s name is Tora, or something similar. She needs to learn some customer service and actually get up and do something to help!

Marlie was kind enough to let us check in early. All staff were gracious and thoughtful. Manager was visible and involved with check in. Walk through the campus to Blacksburg (25-30 min) or take a short 5 min drive to the main street. You can tell the building has been around a while, but it is well maintained and full of character. I would stay here again!

We had a very nice stay and the hotel was not busy so it was very quiet in our room. We had great views of the campus and liked how easy it was to get to campus and downtown. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean. The staff in the restaurant was very helpful. We had a 10 minute wait for check-in even though we were the only ones there because there was just one person at the desk and they were on a call.

The inn at Virginia Tech is a beautiful hotel and the staff was first class. It’s right on campus so if you’re coming to that area to do something on campus it’s the best location. They have a pretty nice hotel gym and it was walking distance to some restaurants in maybe 10-15 minute walk to downtown

Poorly insulated room; so much so that noise was a problem. Biggest issue, however, was vastly inferior breakfast foods at Preston’s. Service was rather poor, too. We went outside the property for breakfast after first day

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The surrounding area was pretty and quiet. We were surprised, though, that a place located on the campus of a college renowned for its engineering program couldn't produce a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Both the free option in the lobby and the coffee we paid for at the on-site restaurant were lukewarm at best.
