The Waters of Minocqua

Nice place. More staff needed for gift shop n coffee bar. To many people checking in for one person to make the Starbucks coffee. Kind of a bummer had to go somewhere else for the coffee. Place was nice kid had a blast in water park. Pizza in bar restaurant was good. Third time staying here will come again was worth the money. Hot tub is cool in winter months being outside in a hot tub is cool .

The best smaller waterpark hotel my family has stayed at. Everything was very clean. Hotel room was nicer than most and the shower was particularly great. Beds were also very comfortable and we loved having a patio with chairs outside of our room. The pool had lots of options and fun activities for people of all ages. We loved that there were outdoor parts of the pool and jacuzzi. My kids loved the game room and it was easy to load an arcade card and claim ticket prizes from the vending machines. The only complaint we had was that many of the games were out-of-order, only leaving one or two where tickets could be earned for prizes. The game room was also VERY warm. My kids still had a blast, though!

The lobby is beautifully. Loved the display of animals, the decorations. There was a short supply of towels in the swimming area. Otherwise we had a great stay.

This is a great hotel if you have little kids. The waterpark within the hotel is very nice. There could be some updates that would make it this place a little bit better. There are two waterslides a pool and a hot tub in a small kid pool. The pool and hot tub are both indoor and outside. Staff are very nice. I like that. There is showers in the pool area bathrooms this hotel is about a two minute drive from the waters downtown area

The arcade had a lot of broken machines.

Great place, friendly staff but disappointed the Pub was closed diuring our entire stay.

Stayed here because of the water “park” - really was just multiple pools with two slides that one could use. We got there and slides closed early, so we couldn’t use them. There were 3-4 pools to use - one was for water volleyball, one for littles and the other was 31/2 ish ft deep. Lots of tables in the pool area. There is a game room across from the pool where you load up a game card to play a variety of games for tickets - skeeball, baskets, Halo, strong man, driving & shooting games - that kept little busy. Hotel was getting a facelift - areas were roped off for work. Which I don’t mind, means the hotel cares. Not sure if I would want to be here in the summer when tourism is in full swing. Didn’t use coffee shop, breakfast or restaurant.

The pool area was bigger than I expected from the pictures. There is a large area with numerous tables for sitting that couldn't be seen. Both the pool and hot tub areas extend to the outside which is nice in the summer months. Another perk I was very happy about was the fact that the room fan was excellent for drowning out noise. I sleep with white noise, and this is the best fan I have ever utilized in a hotel.

Game room needs attention. It’s hard to have a bunch of kids get turned away because none of the games work or none of the prizes are left. Nothing worked for the most part

Some very dirty parts of the room, like a goopy black substance around the top of the ice bucket, some brown, dried liquid that was spilled down the wall, right next to the sink where the towels were hung (so, hard to believe that it wasn't seen), the area around the kiddie pool was very dirty. It's a smaller "ledge" that's probably hard to clean but a lot of the kids wanted to jump in from that side since it was a deeper part of the pool. The shower head made an awful, high pitched sound. I couldn't do anything to make it stop, besides shut the water off. Other than that, a great place! We had so much fun.

Lobby is very nice and they have waffles for breakfast that was also good. Cleaning could be better mold above the shower a damp smell in room.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room looked nice but after walking around my socks were so dirty. Felt like the floor needed a good cleaning. The room felt very humid. The AC was on but didn’t seem to cool off the room. The woman who worked at the breakfast was very kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be back

there was garbage under the bed from previous customers, the carpet was sticky, the wood tabletops were coated with grime, the tub didn’t drain, the screen door of the patio was busted off, the room we were in was alongside a side door, which you could feel the wall shake each time it slammed shut, the tv had a 20-30sec delay when flipping through channels. thankfully we had a busy weekend and didn’t have to be in the room long.

Easy parking, large and clean room, appears to be family friendly due to water park and I appreciated an on site pub and grill.

We have stayed at The Waters multiple times before and enjoyed it but this time the rooms had been renovated beautifully and the hallways smelled clean throughout our stay. We were pleased!!

Hotel is a nice log cabin rustic look. Pools & water slides are fun. Arcade sucks, doesn't take quarters, have to buy a card or tokens. Breakfast is horrible! Front desk was nice & efficient, pool staff was great. Room was not very clean & the nice patio was dirty & dead bugs everywhere.

When we checked in we could not find anyone at the front desk for at least 15 minutes. Went to the room and both beds and bathroom were covered with pet hair.

Clean and really reasonably priced. Loved the big tv and content. One problem was the height required to get into the shower may be formidable for elderly.

Internet was spotty which was hard to stay connected to. Most of the TV in the hotel was web based which was also effected by poor internet.

Liked the renovated room, however it was easy to hear the surrounding noises in your room. TV remote is very hard to understand. Unable to get the shows we wanted. Couldn’t turn volume up. Our ac fan in room only ran for about five minutes at a time after I kept turning it up a notch. Would not kick in on its own. Wasn’t impressed with breakfast. Liked having a balcony. Beds were comfortable.

They do not have telephones in the rooms.

Very nice hotel, I liked the northwoods theme. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Bathroom could use an update, toilet was very low & no place to put soap, etc. in tub area. Room was large & beautiful, the balcony was great. Will stay again.

From the very friendly person that checked us in to the spacious and clean room with your typical complementary continental breakfast it was a very nice stay.

Walls are paper thin. Could hear everything from next room. Even talking to each other in our room it was loud and echoing. TV was hard to navigate to find normal channels to watch.

mini water park good, lifeguards but no supervision of hot tub (kids jumping in, little ones) ... property seemed new, well maintained, third floor room had very high ceilings so room felt echo-y, cavernous, beds with metal base noisy, very good shower and spaces to hang clothes, nice deck for fresh air

We stayed here several years ago and the new updates definitely helped the overall appearance. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The new bathroom layout is terrible. The door swings inward blocking the path to the toilet. The door should swing out into the room. The AC unit did not keep running even though temp was lowered. We couldn’t get the fan to just stay on to circulate the air so it became stuffy.

Very nice place to stay and excellent customer service

Just a quick overnight stay while visiting family in the area. It felt like we were in a big log cabin - loved that! Rooms were clean and very large! Great if you had kids (which we did not). Breakfast was a lot of donuts, muffins and fresh make-your-own waffles - nothing too healthy. Front desk staff is hard to find in the morning due to breakfast. Just had to leave my key on the counter as I waited 20 minutes and no one came. But overall a great place to stay and would be even better for those with kids.

Our room floor was not clean. Sand or dirt was on the floor but we didn’t notice it until we took our shoes and socks off the night of our stay. We asked for a late check out the morning we were leaving. The receptionist informed us that they were not granting late check out “that day”. We have traveled a lot and have never been denied a late check out. Unacceptable.

The whole place! Price, staff was excellent! The water park and hot tub very nice and very reasonable. I love the minocqua area.

The front desk staff, which were the only people we interacted with were not just unfriendly, but one was full on rude. We were in town for a funeral - we weren't greeted with a hello or a smile or anything, it was "Name?". Later we were going to go out for dinner. My friend went down before me. She forgot her charger. So I went down to meet her, I didn't see her right away. So I decided to ask if they sold chargers. The lady said without looking up - you already asked me that. I said, no I didn't. I saw my friend in the shop behind the desk and added that must have been my friend who asked - different person. She said "No we don't." It was so flat, and curt. I asked if she knew where we could get one in town. She said that Dollar General was on 51 South and Walmart was 51 North. I didn't trust Dollar General would sell chargers so we went North. As we drove North, we passed the Dollar General. We had to question if she gave us bad information on purpose. We passed a Walgreens and stopped there and got what we needed. But even when we checked out. There was no kindness of any fashion. We were surprised. The family we were going to honor speaks so highly of Minocqua. As far as the facility, it was clean. We were near the maintenance room. We heard noises all through the night. The walls are pretty thin. I don't know. Our room was $200. On our drive out of town, my friend pointed out all the other places we should have stayed at instead.

I reserved two rooms with the option to pay at counter. The staff was not able to change payments during check in. I travel for work alot and have never had this issue before. I don't know why this was such an issue. Hotel was fine for being under construction at the time of stay.

We've been coming here for years and every year our experience gets worse and worse. This year was our last time after terrible service from management. The first night i waited in the store as the solo guest for 20 minutes to check out. The manager on duty was working the check in guest so i knew itd take a bit. But instead of helping me in between customers, he kept helping new people coming in. He knew i was in the store and i asked if he was the only one working and he said yes you need to wait.I ended up putting my items back and walking out. Then a puppy was tied to a tree outside a room with a chain maybe 2 feet long. She was on rocks and ice and the tree kept poking her in the eyes since she had no where to move. She kept whining so i went to the front desk and the same manager said its not his probelm till quiet hours. 4 hours went by and keep in mind it was only 20 degrees. Again he refused to do anything. I gave the dog a pillow to lay on because she kept lifting her paws from the ice.We called the non emergency number who also didnt seem to care and said they were busy...finally i ended up finding the owners drunk in the bar and they lied and said they just got there. They eventually got their dog. I took the pillow back which was covered in blood and poop. The next night we went to the store at 9:01 and it was still open. As we walked in the same manager came over and shut the door in our face without saying a thing! Never again will we give our business here!

The manager Wil checked us in and he was great! The property is very well kept and clean. Ample parking for trailers and boats.

The pool was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the cute little balcony. The continental breakfast was delish. The area in town was beautiful, lots of cute shops in the walkable downtown. Im looking forward to a return trip.

Very nice Northwoods themed hotel with large pool area. We spent a night at the Quality Inn which was horrible but were able to book a room at the Waters of Minocqua which was a god-send. Room was comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Walkable to down town Minocqua were we had several options for food and drink. All in all a great time!

It’s still in very nice shape clean beds are good. The check in was quick the parking lot is large and close to downtown

Great place to stay at because it is close to many great fishing, hiking, and camping sites. We were visitng friends in St. Germain and this hotel was convenient. We did not take advantage of the hotel's indoor waterpark. We did take a peak at it and it was okay. It definitely isn't to the magnitude of Wisconsin Dells, but I'm sure price-wise it's more affordable. Very friendly staff!

We enjoyed our stay here, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we had free electricity for our electric vehicle. The only observation for improvement: have a small nightlight in the bathroom.

This hotel was a nice place to stay. Continental breakfast was very limited, just waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal and muffins. The pool/waterpark is over rated. I would only recommend if you have small children, lame for older kids. Had plenty of arcade games.

Great hotel for families with younger children. Kids loved the slides, the hot tub that goes outside and the game room. Bathrooms are a bit dated but otherwise hotel is very nice. Good complimentary breakfast and food available until 9:00 from the pub located in the property. Kids loved the chicken fingers and sweet potato fries were awesome… skip the cheese curds, not what you’d expect for Wisconsin. Staff was all very polite.

The breakfast included was very basic. The second morning I planned to buy an upgraded coffee from the coffee shop advertising Starbucks products, but there was no one staffing the coffee shop. We had to abandon that idea. The room was otherwise quaint and spacious.

Only small complaint would be the hotel bar drinks are a little overpriced. Got a nice rate on the room and accommodations are quite nice.

My room was spacious and clean. It was comfortable with a couch, new fixtures, and large screen tv. The lobby is large an pleasant with central fireplace. The onsite pub has a limited menu but was good and convenient. The free breakfast on the other hand was disappointing. Very limited selection. No hot food, a few small oranges. Instant oatmeal, off- brand dry cereal.

Room was great, but make sure you're okay with plenty of kids around due to water park and the fact their breakfast is not much due to limited morning staff, only hot food is toast and pancakes. Other than that very comfy and enjoyed stay.

We go here a few times a year, great for a quick get-away for the kids and waterpark is perfect for little kids, also love the indoor-outdoor hot tub. My only complaint is the breakfast: would like to see a hot egg and protein option to round it out and less use of styrofoam.
