Secondary entry door from the parking lot did not latch by itself. Had to pulled from inside to latch. Several times entered motel from parking lot without having to use key card. Not very safe!

The hotel was older, but clean and good condition. We loved our room, it was very spacious and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The location of the room was awkward because it was right at the stair landing and there was an ice machine right outside our room which someone used at 2:00 am! The pool and hot tub were great. I appreciated the warmer temperature of the pool water.

Property was under construction which was not included on the property description but did have a sign on the front door saying construction was M-F 8 to 5. This was Sunday. Normally this wouldn't bother me but a large section of metal trim was flapping in the wind against the side of the building under our window. Think cowbell in a stampede. Staff was unable to contact owner but allowed us to sleep in another room across the hall on 2 double beds instead of 1 King size. Paid extra for a Hot Tub, which was Luke warm at best. Room phone out of order to contact front desk. Sink drain broken. Did not try to compensate us for our troubles

An older motel that is well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The lobby is welcoming with a seating area that has a living room apearance. The cletk who checked us in was very cheerful and friendly. The rooms have large flat screen TVs and spacious refrigerators with a freezer section that is convenient for re-freezing travel ice chest freezer packs. The pool is larger than most indoor motel pools and well maintained. The enclosed lounge/dining area where breakfast is provided is very spacious. The full breakfast was very good and included eggs, sausage, and waffles, bagels, glazed doughnuts, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, and juices. This motel is very well priced for the amenities included.

I stayed three nights ( room 150) second evening I found apparent rodent feces and soiled toilet in bathroom; showed to front desk staff who agreed but did not clean up; next day manager agreed with my assessment, had me take my belongings out and moved me to another room (151); she demonstrated no knowledge of risks of rodent feces and human excrement exposure and no understanding of proper biohazard clean up and remediation. I requested refund and none granted. Breakfast: apparent generic cereal, no fresh fruit or yogurt, very slim pickings for vegetarian or vegan. Safety: sidewalk was being replaced in front of facility; there was a drop off of 4-6 inches from parking lot to removed sidewalk; I observed no warning signage, no warning tape or other safety cordoning. Facility old, carpet degraded, room furnishings scratched and marred. No USB charging capability. Deferred maintenance: sink stop nonfunctional in both rooms. Best Western Customer Relations: of no benefit whatsoever; facility privately owned and operated, management decisions not subject to intervention by BWH.

ONE thing I found totally unacceptable....when I started pulling the sheet down to get ready for bed, I noticed a small blood stain on the sheet. It was disgusting. I called the front desk and the attendant came and changed the sheets. But it was a gross thing to find. Secondly, the fridge in the room was so loud at times, it sounded like the motor was ready to go. Finally.....I'm a tea drinker. At the breakfast buffet I looked for tea bags...there were none to be found. I asked if I could get a tea bag. I was told I had to go to the front desk to get one. How ridiculous is that!!!! I've never been to a hotel that did that. Pretty annoying.

When I asked about the price difference, I was told we had to take that up with Expedia. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom, and some trash on the floor. The AC did not keep the room cool, even though we had it at 64. We paid $250/night for this room, after the additional $20/night pet fee - very disappointing.

Place is aging. Bathroom door jamb is rusted through, carpets are old, heat/ac unit functions didnt work paper signs on windows to not open them, killed a cockroach. Will not return.

Spent 3 nights at the Maritime Best Western. The hotel is clean, service was great, but both queen beds were absolutely awful, worn out and extremely uncomfortable. Same for the king bed room another family member had rented. I would not stay there again only because of that reason.

The room itself was nice, clean and basic! Pros: Fridge kept our drinks incredibly cold. Shower was ok, it had good temperature with decent water pressure, there was missing tile and spots of missing grout. Cons: Hot tub water was extremely hot! We could only sit in for 10 minutes. The breakfast was terrible, the worst tasting hotel breakfast I've ever had!

The hotel is old and is in need of major updating and repairs and is grossly overpriced considering its age and condition. The whole building smelled have a damp musty smell. The air conditioning (super loud) blew straight up into the curtain and didn't cool off the room. the thin blanket on the bed was probably from the 80s, sandwiched between 2 flat sheets. Breakfast/coffee was not good. Lori who was working at the front desk was nice and helpful. I thought the cost for the outdated room was expensive, not worth what we paid to stay there.

The good, the beds were comfortabl, the staff was friendly. That’s it. The room smelled musty. The tv remote only let you cycle one channel at a time. The fridge’s compressor made a loud humming sound. I finally unplugged it. No where to plug in a cpap. This place needs a complete updating. At $244 per night, you’d think the could afford it.

It’s kind of a bad sign when the hallways need Glade plug-ins to improve the smell. Not worth what we paid to stay there.

Reserved a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. When we arrived we could not get a suite wasn't one available. Service desk lady said when you reserve online your type of room is not guaranteed. What the hell do you make a reservation for??. Very disappointed!!!!

Was told they didn't have housekeeping and to put dirty towels outside the door and they would leave clean ones in a bag for us which they did. First room they sent us to wasn't cleaned since the last person. Next room was nice, breakfast was very good. Looks like they're short on help.

I was disappointed that the room I reserved was not allowed to have a dog. To notify me at the time of check-in was inappropriate. It should have been at the time of reservation or before check-in for me to decide if that is what I wanted. Kind of difficult to change at check-in. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant.

A phone call was more important than checking us in as we stood there waiting for the clerk to finish a conversation. Yes, it was a business matter, but still we waited too long to be helped. Then the refrigerator didn't work in the room and the shower barely trickled lukewarm water. For the exhorbitant price, we expected more. This appeared to be an older hotel. It could probably use some upkeep on the outside. The mattress was a bit harder than I like. There are some shopping centers within walking distance and a few restaurants. The lobby and dining room were clean.

You will need a car anyway to go in sturgeon bay center, but it’s an okay hotel. Breakfast close by 9am and there isn’t a lot of option when it’s refilled in time. The pool is nice but nothing more.

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was fine. Close to amenities. Room was great for pets as well. Building was in process of having siding replaced, glad to see putting resources into improvements. Could use a bit of lawncare, landscaping, play up the Maritime theme w outside decorations. We felt safe there, as mother, daughter travelers.

It was just ok. The breakfast sucked. The hall carpet needs to be replaced. Pool was good. Cobwebs on the ceiling corners in our room. Staff was friendly. Wouldn't give us a receipt because we booked through hotels.com even though we paid for the room there. No benches out side lobby doors for people to sit outside. Thin walls. Bed was harder then a rock. Not bad location. Expected more from a Best Western. Only give it a 5 out of 10.

Not the kitchen staff. They wore one glove brought out bread and held it with one bare hand and one gloved. They touched garbage and rags for tables and never changed gloves in between task. Gross!!

Our room has a soak-in tub for extra money and I like it. Very friendly front desk. However, the breakfast was disappointing because the lady put up all the chairs on the tables in the dining room. Who does that in a hotel dining room? When I walked in, I felt unwelcomed. The scrambled eggs were gone when we walked in. It was only 8 a.m. When asked why there was not enough egg by another customer, the lady said she could not keep up with it because everyone was eating so much egg. That was rude to he customers since breakfast was included. There were decent customers eating breakfast there that day. The lady was unprofessional and insensitive for her remarks. I called the front desk and talked with Bill. Bill agreed with me as he mentioned that he did not like the chairs on the tables either. We did not have breakfast the next morning and just left. We did not want our trip to be ruined. There was a very good Mexican restaurant nearby and I was very happy with my food.
