Grand Hotel Bonavia

Un hotel céntrico, muy complicado para acceder a él incluso para dejar tus maletas. El estacionamiento es público y se encuentra a más de 10 minutos caminando. El personal medianamente amable. El desayuno bueno, el cuarto muy pequeño.

Sentralt hotell, hjelpsomme ansatte. Veldig reint og fint. Grei frokost (til å være i sør europa). Få parkeringsplasser, men har avtale med garasje i nærheten. (5min å gå).

The room matched the picture and roomy. The location is excellent, in walking distance to the major attractions. Limited parking space right in front of the hotel. Very good breakfast. Other than the strong artificial fragrance in the hallway, I am happy with the stay.

First, the hotel is very nice, the staff are pleasant and courteous and always willing to assist and the breakfast buffet is very good. So top marks all around for those aspects. The Bonavia is also located with very easy access to the shops, bars, restaurants and the promenade. Now, the description for this hotel states "Parking Available", there is, BUT IT IS VERY LIMITED. There are only 14 spaces available immediately outside the hotel. To get to these spaces is extremely difficult! The road to them is blocked off by a barrier at each end, the entrance barrier does have a camera on it so if you have a reservation you need to pull up top to the barrier, look at the camera and inform the hotel staff (on the other end) that you have a reservation, they will then lift the barrier for you. If no spaces are available you will have to find alternative parking (a nightmare scenario to put it nicely!) we struck it lucky and got into one of the spaces. One thing to look for when driving around (and around) multiple times looking to find a way to the hotel is small white signs with BONAVIA HOTEL written on them; these are situated on buildings (just like regular street signs) directing you the right way to get to the hotel, we only spotted these after we had parked our vehicle!!! They will be very helpful and probably ease your stress big time while trying to find how to drive up to the hotel. Overall a nice hotel, they could and should do better informing foks about parking.

Hôtel dans le centre de Rijeka, bien situé. Chambres confortables et bien grandes. Petits-déjeuners bons et complets. Le principal souci est l'entrée de l'hôtel avec des escaliers et malgré notre demande, nous n'avons pas reçu l'aide des personnes de la réception pour monter et descendre nos bagages. A noter aussi que l'accès au parking n'est pas facile (il faut appeler la réception) et que pour accéder au centre ville, il faut aussi descendre et monter des escaliers ...

The air conditioning didn't work well. You had to climb up into a high tub to shower. You have to drive into a one way gated area to reach the lobby and drop off luggage, and then you can drive to a parking garage several blocks away to park. Great walkability to the main city promenade from the hotel. The morning breakfast buffet was AMAZING, and more than made up for the room.

The room was clean and bed was nice. The room was not updated and the shower was older. awkward to move the panels around so you wouldn’t get water all over the room. Breakfast buffet was well stocked.

I'm sure that this used to be a rather grand hotel many years ago but unfortunately not anymore. The place is very dated and in bad need of a refurbishment. The room's layout was nice with a balcony and bright sun area but this was let down by the many broken and wonky items in the room. Broken lampshades, broken lock on the balcony doors, scuffed bathtub. Also the hotels HVAC system is the old fashioned single pipe system where you can only ever have AC or heating. It is set by the hotel, and is either on one system or the other, you have no choice. Upon checkin my room was about 26 degrees and the only way to cool it was to open the balcony doors. At night the choice was boil or contend with mosquitos. My room was also next to a smoking balcony where people sat outside and made a lot of noise up to four in the morning and kept me awake. The entire hotel ought to be non-smoking. Breakfast was a rather sad affair with some rather dubious looking offerings. Not even real orange juice served, tasted like a sugar water mixture. Coffee equally dismal. The two positives however were the location, being in the heart of the town by all the restaurants, and the staff. I give credit to the hotel staff who were friendly, polite and helpful. I get the impression the owners of this place are just trying to cut costs all over. I certainly wouldn't stay here until the place is majorly updated.

A bit disappointing. I can tell the hotel put money in the common areas but neglected the rooms. Our room had a very uncomfortable bed (very very firm), the walls could use new paint touch up (scratches, marks, scuffs, dirt and grime in many spaces) because it looked dirty, the carpet in the hallways and room had bad odor and looked bad, the main bathroom light did not function, multiple switches and outlets did not work (every time I tried the switch the fuses in box tripped even when nothing was in outlets). It’s a great location of a hotel and the staff are excellent, however we were not comfortable with our stay.

This is a beautiful hotel with an interesting and long history. The breakfast was absolutely the best you could ever wish for. The room was upscale, clean and comfortable. The staff all spoke English and were very professional. The only negative was a neighboring disco party that went to 1 o’clock in the morning we could hear the music in our room. I don’t think that’s the fault of the hotel, but it’s something to be aware of.

Hotel Bonavia bestaat uit twee delen : een prachtige uitbouw met de inkom en de kamers die wat gedateerd zijn. Beetje verouderde badkamer, weinig stopcontacten en lichtpunten. Wel fantastisch ontbijt

Stopp i badkarsavloppet. Ac'n lät mer än den fungerade, behöver en service. Konstiga kuddar som gjorde att man sov dåligt. Frukosten var helt okej.

Nice hotel with perfect location at the Rijeka’s old town with the great shopping and dining options. Room was very clean and spacious with beautiful Adriatic sea view. Breakfast was included and delicious! I will come back soon!

The staff were very nice and helpful at check in. We were early so they stored our bags while we explored the town. Room has a nice view looking out over the water (7th floor). Room is spacious with large balcony.

The first room that I was given smelt of cigarette smoke. When I mentioned it at reception, straight away, I was upgraded to another room no questions asked. So I was delighted with that service which was brilliant.

the location was prime. The staff at the front desk did not ask us at the check out if we had a pleasant stay, did not wish us a safe trip... I feel that they have some room to grow when it comes to customer service. Also, their dining room service was very slow, the tables were not set up in a timely manner for their next guests. You had to almost set it yourself-no utensils, napkins. They did not attend to their guest to make sure that all of their needs were met. This is our second year coming to the hotel and little if anything has improved. It was the cleaning service staff who thanked us for our visit and extended their wishes for our safe journey.

A classic hotel with excellent location

Very quiet hotel within walking of lots of bars / restaurants, etc. Close to the train as well if you’re traveling that way.

Though starting to age, this hotel appears very well maintained, has a fantastic location in the heart of the city.

Great location in the heart of Rijeka near the Korzo street - a car traffic free zone dedicated for pdestrians. The area is very vibrant with plenty of stores restaurants, cafes and events. A favorit gathering place for local and tourists. Overall the room was okay but for a 4-star hotel the amenities and bathroom could be a bit better. In addition, outlets were a bit strange (not standard) and limited and no usb hookups. Hotel score 4/5, location 5/5.

Great hotel! Rooms are spacious and beds are so comfortable.Breakfast was wonderful and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for your stay in Rijeka.

We stayed 2 nights at the start and end of our holiday in Croatia. Found the hotel to be great in every way. Rooms large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed a very reasonably priced and very good evening meal as well. Only downside (same wherever we visited) the Croatians either don't like or can't make hot coffee - always luke warm!! Apart from that a wonderful experience.

The breakfast included with the room was absolutely amazing. There were so many options and everything was delicious. Best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time!

Das erste zugewiesene Zimmer haben wir nach der ersten Nacht gewechselt. Es war für unsere Begriffe kein Superior DZ. Das zweite Zimmer war schön. Wir haben uns dort wohlgefühlt. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück ist unserer Meinung nach kein Bohnenkaffee,er ist für uns nicht zu trinken.
