Scandic has good reputation and this property definitely dented that good standing for me. But i start with the good. the sauna and pool are good. the sauna is only open after 17:00 so you need to plan. but the pool attached is nice and cold. so hot/cold repeat is great! the lockers in both mens and women’s sauna are broken. the hotel knows this but does nothing about it and offers no forewarning. which is very frustrating. maybe we don’t need to lock away our valuables? if so why have lockers? reception was very unhelpful and seemed entirely indifferent to my feedback on this. breakfast was ok. no smoked fishes. eggs were generic. my partner is gluten free and her rice pastry was moldy. so not great to bite into it and discover that. finally the door frame in our room was coming off the frame meaning the safety chain was vulnerable. it is a small thing perhaps. but honestly it should be fixed. lastly - there really is nothing around the hotel. there is a shopping mall 15 min walk away but there is nothing about how to get there and no scooters to be seen. in future will stay in city center for sure.

The hotel was generally good, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the room was typically Scandinavian. However the swimming pool was closed during or stay, which was one of the primary reasons for selecting that particular hotel! The room was not made up for our last night which meant no renewal of the coffee and milk etc, causing inconvenience of having to go to get replacements,

Free airport shuttle from and to the airport. Lovely modern hotel. Comfortable beds. Modern shower, toilet facilities. Complimentary Sauna, pool and gym in the hotel. Modern restaurant which offers lovely food and also their is a bar with 2 big flat screens. Breakfast is included and 12 pm check in. They also have childrens indoor playground in the basement. My little one was so happy. Lovely stay for us all.

Excellent airport hotel. There is a regular shuttle bus to and from the airport. The room was spotlessly clean as was the hotel lobby. We enjoyed the great ingenious layout in the family room. Excellent breakfast buffet selection. Would definitely recommend.

The room had two twin beds side-by-side, but only one side was made up. Even though we booked it as a king for two people, there were only two small pillows. We had to ask housekeeping to come in and make up the other side. In addition, the toilet hadn’t been flushed and had brown sediment in it.

Nice hotel for an early flight. Free shuttle bus to the airport that runs regularly (I caught it at 5am). Basic breakfast buffet available early too. Lovely and clean, the sheets and towels are great for sensitive skin - the only place I've stayed in the last week that hasn't made my legs itch! Pool and sauna are lovely too. The room was quite hot even though it wasn't hot outside. Temperature control didn't seem to make a difference. Quite noisy with the window open. Was woken up at 1am by noisy neighbour stomping around above me - the hotel can't help that, of course, but that and the temperature meant I didn't have a very good sleep despite this being a lovely place.

Scandic hotel style with practicality and no frills (no kettle). They have airport - hotel shuttle bus (was a coach this time around), so it is easy to get from terminal to the hotel, although the bus stop is away from the terminal, so standing around in the cold for 15mins can be a bit uncomfortable. There is no signage on the bus stop to let you know you are at the right now, and the airport staff didn't unblock the left over trolleys on new years day, making accessibility difficulty. (not really the hotel's fault). There is a nice pool to dip into (although the sign say water temp is between 19-23C, and the temperature gauge showed 25C, although the feeling was more like 19C, something isn't working!!). Sauna was also nice, although stone were a bit too far away to throw water at!!! Breakfast was included and typical of Scandic. The kids play room has gone, although there are books, and colouring papers for kids to make use of.

I was very disappointed with the stay at the Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past, despite this(and despite supposedly having gold tier membership with hotels .com) the room we were put in was very poor. It was 2nd floor(as Europeans consider it).. the window looked out onto a flat roof and obstructing at least 50% of the window immediately outside was a huge aircon unit. I'm amazed that they put paying guests in this room at all, and don't just use it as a storage cupboard. It was a really depressing outlook to be given in a hotel that is not exactly cheap, or in a prime location. Further, inside the room there was a 3rd fold away bed. Inside the locked bed compartment was a light that was turned on. The only way we could find to turn it off was to remove the card, which of course turned off all our lights. In my opinion this represented a possible fire hazard. So we ended up removing the card at night and leaving my son's phone torch on as he doesn't like sleeping in total darkness. My experiences at this hotel in the past were acceptable. But I think it is inexcusable that we were given a room like this.

The room was a tad small for three adult-size people but the beds were comfortable. The location is convenient if you're needing to be close to the airport, with a shuttle included, but not convenient to any shopping or downtown visiting other than the mall that is a mile away. Perhaps this is an American tradition but we were surprised to find no coffee maker in the room. Nonetheless, the breakfast spread was diverse and of fantastic quality.

The property itself was good and clean and quiet. We tried to find information about taking the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and couldn’t get any help. I messaged repeatedly, no answer. I emailed directly, no response. I called the hotel number repeatedly, they never answered! I ended up having to get a Bolt and pay $20 usd. Not helpful.

The front desk clerks were especially friendly and soo helpful. This was a layover stay and so we ate dinner and breakfast on site. ..both were very good. The shuttle back to the airport was on time and helpful.

The front desk gentleman that worked the night shift on 11/01/2025 was truly a blessing, he was very kind to us and really provided us with personalized service. He even packed breakfast for us as we had to fly super early the next morning. He is tall, slim, dark hair, please thank him and value his contributions to the hotel. ☺️

A nice hotel and easy to get to on the half-hourly, free, airport shuttle. Convenient for the airport but not Helsinki city centre. A big shopping mall is nearby and within walking distance albeit about 1km. Happy to stay here again for the airport, price, quality of the hotel and buffet breakfast.

We stayed at the Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress after a long transatlantic flight, hoping for a comfortable place to relax and recover from our jetlag. The hotel itself was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff were polite. However, we were really disappointed to find that the restaurant and bar were closed on Sunday — something we hadn’t been made aware of before booking. After such a long journey, it would have been great to have somewhere on-site to eat and unwind without having to go back out. If you’re planning to stay here, especially on a Sunday, just be aware that the hotel is pretty much closed up.
