This is the first of two times that I have stayed here in the winter. Both times the piles of snow took up several parking spots and made finding parking difficult. Both times I had to park in the next-door restaurants, parking, which is clearly marked so you don’t park there. But I asked the receptionist and she said it would be fine to park there. Since I was leaving in the morning, I knew it would be fine because I came at night after the restaurant was closed. I reserved the last room available and arrived late enough that the restaurant in the hotel was closed. I did not stay in the main building. I had to cross the parking lot and there were about four little rooms back behind the hotel and the next-door restaurant. It gave me a feel like a cabin. The receptionist wasn’t able to give a good description where these rooms were. But once I found it. It was fine. And since there is a McDonald’s right across the street and I came in late, it was great that McDonald’s was open 24 hours. I could not find the towels in the bathroom, because they were hidden behind the door. But the receptionist gave me details when I asked. The shower had one of those rubber mats with suction that I find yucky to share. And the bathroom was less than luxurious. It was subpar. And the towels were thin. I was not told the Wi-Fi password and had to go to reception to ask. The place was good enough that I returned the next time I had to drive through Magog.

Due to the piles of snow that took up parking spots, parking was limited. Luckily, I came at night and the restaurant next-door had extra parking. But I was clearly in a spot that was marked for that restaurant. I could hear people in the restaurant downstairs, people in the hallway, and people in their rooms. But luckily, I came at night, and all that died down by the time I went to bed. Right across the street is a McDonald’s that is open 24 hours. Very, very, very convenient. You are a block or two off the main road where all the great shopping is. It is a beautiful road to walk on, even at night after all the shops are closed. It is beautifully decorated during the Christmas season. The hotel is very small, but because you can park there and walk to the shopping, you don’t have to deal with the very limited parking available on that main road. The receptionist had pretty good English skills, but did not grow up bilingual. The receptionist was chatting to the people in the restaurant and made me wait to check in. Is a tiny little place to stay, and perfect if you are just there for the day. I wouldn’t use this place to vacation in Magog for very many days. It is inexpensive and a very good bargain, especially during the winter months.
