This hotel was overpriced for just run of the mill hotel. I paid $414.00 for 2 queens, not even a complimentary bottle of water for that price. The pool was outdoors, advertised as heated and it was cold water. No breakfast included but got a 20% off coupon on over priced breakfast. Upon check in wasn't directed to the hot tub or gym or the pool or what floors ice etc were on. The pillows were lumpy. All in all the stay would have been satisfactory but when yiu pay over $400 for a hotel a person does expect more. Port Alberni is a small community with not much going on. Price goughing at it's best. I was told that the prices were so high because it was high vacation season and Tofino is close to Port Alberni, not for the quality of the hotel, service or amenities, just close to Tofino.

We always stay here when we visit. Facilities are nice, clean, location is good. Restaurant in the building. Liquor store right beside it. Everything is a close drive from the hotel. Outdoor pool for summer use.

This hotel is nice, the staff have great customer service, the pool is nice and clean. The gym could be nicer with more up to date equipment and open for longer hours (5:00-11:00 perhaps). This hotel is not walkable to the shopping area Quay. It would be nice if there was an option to include breakfast in the cost of the room. I recommend this hotel if you are ever in Port Alberni. Or driving to Tofino and want to stop in for a break to a city that is a bit more cost effective.

The web site advertised a pool, however when we arrived we were told the pool was closed. And there was no change in the cost of the room. It was disappointing to book a hotel with a pool, and not be able to use it.

Clean. Friendly staff. Great sound proof rooms, there were multiple teenage sport teams staying and I was never bothered by noise. Hot chocolate machine is a hit with the kids. Great water pressure in shower

The hotel was very nice, clean and neat. The room was really nice with two queen beds. The shower was fabulous. The bed was very comfortable. The room was warm and quiet. It did not have a microwave and not a fan of Coffee Mate. All in all the stay was very nice.

There was nothing wrong with the hotel, it was ok. It was expensive given the time of year, and the room that we got was small, with a tiny bathroom. Overall we would probably looks elsewhere given the close to $300 a night in early November. The restaurant (Pastimes) was very good.

Everything was as expected for a hotel in that price range - clean, quiet, comfortable bed and pillows. My only complaints were the bathroom didn't seem to have a working exhaust fan and the Keurig coffee maker was a piece of junk. Made terrible coffee. We wanted to boil some water - took a lot of experimenting but were able to finally do it. Ended up bringing in our own coffee maker. I would stay there again when next visiting Port Alberni, but will remember to bring my coffee maker and coffee.

It was VERY expensive! and the check in at 4 pm! I"m traveling for years... never saw a check in so late. we had to wait until 4 pm at 4 pm at the desk, the lady said... let me check if the room is ready (!) and we had to wait again never again we ll go to a Best Western

Room was comfortable enough. Huge parking lot, and free. Not a lot within walking distance, so unless you're okay dining at the attached bar, you'll have to drive somewhere. Our stay was pretty short (late in, 1 night, early out), so we can't really rate things like the pool, etc.

Very good staff, friendly and helpful. Pauline, our server at breakfast, was excellent. The food was good. My only criticism was that there was no in-room safe. I found this surprising in a Best Western Plus hotel. Using a safe deposit box at the hotel reception is something I associate with older hotels of less quality.
