Good location, close to mall Disappointing that the gym is closed for renovation and was not mentioned when we checked in. That was the main reason why we chose this hotel. On top of that they are even charging extra $ for late checkout, which I think they should just waive out of courtesy considering our complaint about the unavailability of the gym

What I hated you had to go through a restaurant with your luggage cart or child’s stroller. They had stairs in the lobby leading to the front desk. Only way around go outside , go through a restaurant then into the lobby a terrible set up.

The common areas were run down. To get to the elevator you had to go down several steps to reception then up 2 ramps then down the the hall of the entire first floor. Not told before booking that onsite restaurant closed down permanently.

This is an older hotel , but it is generally kept clean. However , I was very disappointed that the facilities always seem to be in a state of disrepair. One of the outside doors that was next to the parking place would not work to let me in with my key card.So I had to walk around the building in the pouring rain. Also the gym equipment in the gym is constantly broken. This weekend , I could not even use the gym at all because they haven't closed down for renovations , for god knows how long... They really should not advertise.This hotel as having a gym when it's constantly broken down. Also , the wifi in my room was terrible and the t v would keep cutting out and stop working... It was disappointing really, because the staff is really friendly and kind.However , the facility itself appears to be falling apart...

Nothing special. Rooms were ok, but the smell of cigarette smell in the hall way that they were trying to cover up with a wall plug in didn’t work. Hotel was dated and the restaurant wasn’t open the entire duration of our stay.

Large room with full kitchen, dining table and chairs. Couch, table, desk and dresser with lots of drawers. Large closet with areas on both sides to hang things. Bright with 2 windows. Comfy bed, good size washroom and great pressure in the shower. Only thing we noticed was the laminate floors were sort of sticky. Always a reflection on how well housekeeping cleans. Hall ways were a frowsy smelling and old looking but over all, a great place to stay if your just using the room to sleep and travelling on a budget.

The room was as advertised. Clean for the most part. Local Bartender was a pleasure to meet. Shower area: tub held several inches of water while taking a shower. Just a gross feeling showering and standing in dirty water.

We enjoyed a spacious room with a comfy king bed. It was nice to have all the kitchen amenities to have our own breakfast at our pace. We are staying again at the end of our trip through Newfounland. Highly recommend.

We had a king suite, it was very spacious and clean. The staff were great. It was a fast and easy check in and out. Only issue was the door to the bathroom didn’t click shut. Other than that it was a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay again.

We had a phenominal stay. A no frills hotel but very clean, beds were extremely comfortable. Efficiency suite very spacious and the keurig coffee maker made excellent coffee every morning. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, avalon mall and 10 minutes away from downtown. On the downside, brand new tub was slippery and our room had no view. However would definitely book again!

Checking in was nothing short of terrible, the receptionist was combative and rude. Her inability to speak clearly made understanding her nearly impossible. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff leaves something to be desired.

We stayed overnight for my birthday and my family had called from Ontario wanting to leave a surprise in my room. The staff went above and beyond to help organize this lovely surprise for me. When I walked into the room, poster, cakes, gifts, all laid out on the bed! What a wonderful surprise. Thanks to the staff that was working July 6th, 2025 that made all this happen. We arrived at the Ramada(St. John’s)in the early morning, after an all night flight. We were planning to just leave our luggage there until we could check into our room, later in the day. The clerk did some searching and found us a room and checked us in early. We were exhausted from the flight and appreciated the the kindness. We were able to nap and shower and go for brunch, all prior to the normal check in time. “Newfoundland-Nice”, I like to call it. As we experienced it often during our trip to the Rock.
