Only thing was the one elevator was not working for first four days. Lots of waiting for the elevator that was working. Otherwise no complaints. I m think they would have quicker repairs made. Mechanical items break but it seems that you would put 100% into fixing the issue. If they had notices up explaining the problem it would have been higher rating. Otherwise it was excellent from staff to cleaning great place to stay and easy to walk to harbour and town.

A main reason we picked this property was because of the pool, and we were looking forward to swimming. Only once we arrived and directly asked about the location of the pool at the front test were we told that the pool was undergoing maintenance and was closed. No compensation was provided for this inconvenience.

The only complaint we had was that they only have 2 elevators and one was out of orders we were there 10 days and it was never fixed in that time , so getting a elevator sometimes took over a half hour and a lot of pissed off people!

Staff was excellent, accommodation was excellent, but the parking lot is not safe to leave a vehicle over night . My vehicle and another guests vehicle was broken into . Smashed out the back window and stoked stuff from the rear of vehicles . Charging for parking and not informing guest that vehicle break in’s happen in there parking lot with some frequency and no security in lot or a fence to keep unwanted people out of parking lot and away from guest’s vehicles

The website lists parking available, we stayed there two nights. When we got back to the hotel the second night the parking lot was full. Vehicles even parked along the curbs could barely get around in the small parking lot, when I went in to ask the front desk where could we park (we were already checked in and had already been there one night) she said there is nothing they can do there is no other parking available. The other clerk suggested we park across the street at the delta and hope we didn’t get ticketed. I said we would need to go pack up our room and go to another hotel with parking available (what other option did we have) they said all they could do was refund our parking fee (15$ a night) and would not refund our nights stay. We ended up parking in a no parking zone and hoping for the best. We didn’t end up getting a ticket, but not a chance we should have had to take. Would never stay here again, not a stress we should have to deal with a hotel we were already staying at and with parking we’d already paid for. Wouldn’t suggest anyone stay here with a vehicle

Great location. Very busy property. Lovely amenities and new rooms. Fabulous buffet. However the elevators were not working properly and only one was functioning. It made for a long wait. Also my niece and her baby came to visit and discovered there is no change table in the lobby restroom. With the long wait for the elevator to go to my room it was an ordeal. Also the elevator issue is a chronic problem I was told by a guest who had stated there multiple times.

The staff were really friendly. But was a leak of towels at the pool and the floor outside the pool area was very slippery. After getting in out room you can tell it was a rush clean there was still dirt on the floor and could tell it wasn’t mopped. There was dirt in the shower and towel as well and hand prints on the windows and finger prints on the laps. There was hockey tournament in the area and the children was just running around the hotel and yelling. No adult supervision

Room was nice and large – very comfortable bed, loved the fluffy pillows. Breakfast buffet was very good and lots of food choices. Where things went off the rails was the bathroom sink. It was full of black, insoluble crap that I noticed as I went to bed at 0030 (I was a midnight arrival due to late plane). I went down at 8AM the next morning and asked the person at the front desk to arrange the sink to be cleaned. This did NOT happen before I had to check out at noon. It was the same guy at the desk and I asked what they were going to do about this unacceptable outcome. Since I paid via Expedia, all I got was a 50% discount certificate for my next visit that expires 04/26 (I was last in St Johns in 2013). The manager came out and apologized and ADMITTED they knew that all of the "01" rooms had had a back-up in the sewage system. This begs the question why my room had not been inspected for this problem.

Our room looked as though it had no been swept or vacuumed in days. When we were getting ready to leave we noticed what looked to be vomit has stained the side of the bed and was also on the mattress cover. The elevator smelled awful.

Hotel itself is gorgeous, very modern, our room was very nicely done. However, the walls were paper thin. I had to turn music on to drown out the people in the room next to me so I could try to sleep. The bed also left much to be desired with the mattress or mattress protector maybe being a little crunchy and noisy. Overall I was impressed when I arrived. It’s a great spot and had parking. But if you’re looking for a decent night of sleep - this won’t make it to the top of my list any time soon.

We had a lovely welcome to the hotel, the staff were wonderful. When entering the room I was very pleased with the esthetic. Beds were comfortable. The lighting in our room was very poor, actually had difficulty seeing the clothes in my suitcase because of it. Our room had one little window in the corner so the natural light was very little. Small bathroom for a family of 4 getting ready in the morning and also the ventilation fan was very loud and obnoxious, especially at 4am when all you want is a quiet place to sleep. Overall it was a nice place to stay but wouldn’t recommend with kids.

Hotel is in a good location. Room was a good size but our room only had one small window so I felt it was dark. I would request a room with a larger window. Breakfast buffet daily had decent selection. When it got busy the staff on the weekend couldn’t keep up with replenishment or taking away used dishes on tables. Staff were friendly.

Everything was great except for one thing... the air conditioning sounded like a vacuum cleaner when it was on. I had to use earplugs. I should not have to plug my ears to sleep in a Hilton. This was not an individual AC unit like you see in cheaper hotels - it was nicely built in/hidden. But omg it was so loud. Unfortunately it means i will not stay there again.

Hilton St. John’s exceeded all my expectations. I stayed in a base room and it was absolutely beautiful, spotless, stylish, and very comfortable, with a stunning view and a perfect location. Everything about this hotel feels refined and well thought out. The staff were exceptional, warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I especially want to mention one wonderful lady from the front desk who assisted me during a night shift, and again on the day I checked out during the day shift. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and made my stay even more memorable. I truly had an amazing experience and I would gladly return without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Only downside was its downtown St.Johns, and that makes the area sketchy. We heard gun shots going off fairly close to the hotels property. But that has nothing to due with the hotel itself, just the location.

Property itself was decent. One elevator was down at one of the busiest times of the year. As someone who tends to not use physical cards for payment, there were no tap options there. We thought the breakfast was included like most hotels do these days, like the self serve type. We grabbed plates and served ourselves and then not long after we were finished, we received a bill for $60. Then trying to pay once again using tap, the gentleman kept saying out loud that my card declined and I would have to find another method of payment. Little things add up to put a wrinkle into otherwise decent stay. More information and convenience options would have been nice for what was spent for the stay.

Went to get reservations at restaurant. It opened at 5 pm tried for 30 min from 5-5.30 pm no answer. Also room service did not answer. Left the room at 5.30 pm and went to the restaurant and staff said they were fully booked and they would not be able to do room service. No service for hotel customer really stinks. I had to leave hotel and drive 30 min to get to another restaurant. Would not recommend this hotel. I will not be staying here again in future. Even hotel staff could/would not assist. I lost it in the lobby of hotel. Sad part was there was 3-5 seats for 4 people available.

The hotel was beautiful. The only thing was that I was told that the breakfast was free from someone that I was talking to on the phone. It cost us $75 for breakfast witch I think is outrageous
