Ample free parking in their lot, spacious room decorated in a quirky but attractive way. We wished the shower door did a better job of keeping the water inside the shower, but we managed with an extra towel on the bathroom floor. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

Great experience! Clean room, charming historical hotel, comfortable room and bed. Location was perfect! Parking was easy. We especially loved the European style breakfast options. Staff was helpful and very attentive. We hope to visit again!

The hotel was awesome. Loved the bar and pool table in the lower level. Great location - close to downtown and the river. Staff was awesome as well.

Such a quaint little Inn with a pool table, games and speakeasy in the lower level. Beautiful decor, including all the wallpaper! Very walkable location and friendly staff. Super comfy beds and nice little breakfast spread. 10/10

Given the reviews on line I was surprised by our experience. We had a King size room and I was offered the option to upgrade for an additional fee but declined. Positives:The hotel is in a wonderful location, it is very clean with interesting decor. There was free self parking in the back, which was nice. We did not have to worry about the car.Negatives: The King size bed was very close to the floor, it had an AC unit in the window that did not sufficiently cool the room and a shade that needed to remain up in order to run it so the room could either be completely dark and hot or light and have air blowing in. The room itself was very loud and we could hear other s. The TV did not operate well. The iron had been gunked up by previous guest and we could not use it. To be fair, we could have requested a new iron but gave up on it. The biggest positive was location as we could walk downtown Portsmouth, which was lovely.
