Very old and need updates

The second day, the elevator stopped working. I was there for 5 days, and I had to carry my bags up three flights of stairs when I left, at least going down.

The building is old , need walk few step stairs before you get lift to the hotel. Quiet at night sleep well and good breakfast.

The location is perfect to get just about anywhere when walking. The staff are helpful and accommodating. The historic building could use some upgrades and repairs.

Fabio, the concierge, was extremely helpful! He gave us the most amazing restaurant recommendation (Sabor a Lisboa) and we ended up going every day we were in Lisbon. He even offered to move us to a quieter room, which was very kind. The only thing I could see being an issue for some, is the temperature of the suites. The AC doesn't really do much so be prepared to sleep without a blanket at night. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

This hotel was very basic in a good way. It has everything you need. It was very clean. Although if you want it to be quiet this is or can be quite noisy at night. Only from having to hear other people's, bathrooms and showers etc. from keeping the window open because it's too hot and there's no air conditioning. But it's really not that bad. I would recommend for clean easy place to stay. That's very close to downtown. The price is accurate for the type of place. The fact that it includes breakfast is awesome and it's in a really nice, safe area. Of I would say more of a high-end area. If you are at all picky then you will not enjoy it. But if you're laid back and he's going, it's a great place. We really enjoyed our stay.

Tivemos um pequeno incidente ao chegar no sábado, o elevador nao funcionava, e só foi consertado na segunda feira, o quarto em que ficamos n⁰ 216, muito apertado e o banheiro mais ainda e com banheira o que para idoso é perigogoso. Porém, o cafe ou pequeno almoço, como se diz em Portugal é otimo o atendimento é otimo

Väldigt prisvärt för bra läge på Rua Liberdade. Äldre och lite sliten inredning men rent. Helt ok frukost som ingick i priset. Enda nackdelen var att hissen var trasig under vår vistelse och rummet låg på tredje våningen.

There is not restaurant

The hotel is 2* and deserves both stars. Staff are all excellent. Building is showing its age and facilities could do with an update. Breakfast is adequate if monotonous. If feels comfortable and welcoming.

El hotel es muy básico, lo que necesitas para viajar, cama y ducha (bañera en este caso). La cama es pequeña para 2 personas, la habitación es parece más grande en las fotos, es súper pequeña. Teníamos 2 habitaciones, una con nevera pequeña (que se agradece) y otra sin ella. La 218 ha tenido un olor a alcantarilla en el baño durante toda la estancia, decían que hacían tratamiento pero duraba 2/3 horas sin olor. Se suponía que el hotel estaba completo y no había otra habitación. El personal de recepción, Victor en nuestro caso, se preocupó de avisar para tratamiento pero realmente esa habitación debería estar inoperativa. El desayuno es básico pero cumple su función, pan, bizcocho, algo de embutido, huevos duros y cereales, mermeladas, miel, zumo, leche y café. La localización es inmejorable, en la calle de las tiendas de lujo con el metro a una manzana, directo a la plaza del comercio. Incluso se podía llegar caminando en unos 15/20 minutos. Si vais a ver la decoración navideña, hay una feria de Navidad inmensa a 5 minutos caminando. No volvería a este hotel, sobre todo por el olor (y no podernos reubicar en otra habitación) y el tamaño de la cama/habitación.

Though the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the cleanliness could definitely improve.

Struttura storica, datata ma molto pulita (cambio asciugamani ogni giorno, non è scontato). Posizione ottima, con 10 minuti di passeggiata si raggiunge il centro. Zona sicura. Colazione basica, ma sufficiente per un breve soggiorno.

The location is great, but the rooms are small and dark and cockroaches are around the corners, in the bath, or beds. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Had a great stay the last four nights. The hotel is very central to everything and both Christmas markets (Rossio and Wonderland). Staff is very friendly and the room was clean. The bed was made and I was given fresh towels every day. Great place to stay. Highly recommend

Posizione top, hotel datato, cattivo odore in camera

Staff are friendly, the breakfast was excellent the rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are made, very convenient to subway and walking distance to Rossio and Chiado. Loved it.

Antiguo pero muy limpio

The location of the property was great. We were within walking distance of everything we needed. Although it seemed to be clean, it is very old and could use some updating. We especially did not like that there were carpets on the floors… with the bed bugs spreading lately and everything we are hearing in the news, this made us a little uncomfortable. This is the first hotel we stay in that still has carpeting. Other than that the hotel was fine and the price was good for the location.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The staff were friendly and very helpful and informative. The room was clean and comfortable, yes it was small but we did not spend much time in the room so it didn’t matter. We loved that the property maintained the old world charm. Our room was located at the back of the building so it was very quiet.The breakfast was a typical Portuguese breakfast that you will find in properties that provide breakfast. The food was fresh and enough variety to get your day started. We have stayed many places in Lisbon and this was one of the best places we have stayed. We will definitely stay here again.

L'hôtel Don Sancho bénéficie d'un emplacement impeccable, proche du métro et des artères principales, s'y rendre est relativement simple. D'ailleurs, l'hôtel à la décoration classique voire rustique est contraire au quartier, plutôt chic avec toutes les grandes marques présentes. Du côté des chambres, on retrouve tout le nécessaire. Une pièce petite certes, mais tout y est, avec de quoi ranger, une climatisation qui fonctionne bien et une literie confortable. La salle de bain possède même une baignoire et dispose de tout ce qu'il faut. Toutefois, étant logé à la chambre n°210 un gros bémol est apparu. J'ai découvert que la chambre était collée aux cuisines du petit-déjeuner. L'insonorisation étant médiocre, vous serez réveillés dès 7h du matin par ce boucan, comme si votre lit était directement dans la cuisine. L'option réveil n'est pas disponible, mais vu le bruit, vous n'en aurez pas besoin... La réception connait parfaitement ce problème, et ne semblait pas surprise quand j'ai fait état de ma réclamation. Le petit déjeuner est franchement décevant, avec peu de choix, parfois pas de lait, une salle plutôt petite et des ingrédients peu appétissants et un jus d'orange incipide. Globalement, le séjour dans cet établissement a été correct, mais des améliorations restent à faire pour le bon déroulement du voyage. Si vous voulez faire la grasse-matinée passez votre tour (ou achetez des bouchons d'oreille).

Travelling with a friend and We had two single rooms. Her room was nice enoough and newly renovated - close to the reception and she could hear everything. She had a nice view over the boulevard. My room was rather depressing - Dark furniture, old carpet, very bad bed and with no view. It was facing a back alley - so absolutely no day light. Way too expensive

Amazing location right by the metro and several bus lines and many many wonderful restaurants. Breakfast was serviceable. The room was small but clean.

For a budget room, it was perfectly acceptable. It’s a grand building in an excellent location, and the lady who checked me in (in the early hours) was very friendly and helpful. Although I didn’t eat breakfast, it looked like there was a good selection. It would benefit from thicker window coverings to shield light and the sound travels between rooms/corridors if other residents are not being conscientious. I’d stay again, but only for a night or two.

Old property, decent. Did not have a blackout curtain. Expect (in our room) direct sunlight coming in with no way to block it out since early morning. The staff was very professional and kind.

The hotel is 200yrs old but has been well maintained and updated as necessary. Unfortunately the elevator was broken upon our arrival Louis, who was at reception came to the lobby & carried up our suitcases, twice! What service both from Louis & Victor

Hotel is in the middle of shopping area, walking distance to some tourist attraction and staff is very helpful of arranging our transport. Check in and out were quick and pleasant, breakfast was good and room and area is very clean.

I had a great stay at Dom Sancho and will always go back to this hotel when I visit Lisbon. The location is amazing, the hotel is charming, very clean and the staff what can I say, Victor is amazing and a treasure. He made my stay so much more enjoyable.

Very nice hotel ! Easy access from the airport by metro, and only 5 minute walk from the metro station ! Walkable to lots of major tourist areas. Viktor, at the front desk, he was VERY helpful and professional

A localização p/a av Liberdade é perfeito, pretíssimo do metrô avenida, 3min! O quarto é bem pequeno, banheiro idem. Café da manhã bom. Recomendo caso queira esta região. Senão… não!

L'endroit est parfait. Le personnel très gentil et le petit déjeuner est superbe. Les réceptionnistes Luis et Humberto excellents un gros merci aux deux. Le seul bémol, la chambre trop petite. Dans mon cas c'est ca, cependant il y a sûrement d'autres chambres plus grandes, juste faite attention au moment de réserver. Je recommande l'hôtel.

The location of the property is very good, but the room & bathroom we stayed in was quite small and is getting a little tired. Although breakfast was included the choices available were somewhat limited. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Amazing staff, especially Victor at front desk, very walkable and safe. Breakfast can be improved a little, maybe adding scrambled eggs. Other than that even though older, we love our stay Dom Sanchos.

Great location for tourists! The hotel has only two stars and you don't expect daily cleaning of the room. But they do! And they even change towels daily! I would like a more varied buffet.

On the positive side, the receptionist is extremely polite, informative and helpful, the rooms are cleaned to a good standard everyday and the hotel has a convenient location, close to transport, restaurants and supermarkets. On the negative side: - management really needs to renovate and upgrade rooms: only two sockets very badly located (across the beds, not next to them) - even too far for you to use the coffee maker, also, the built-in closet is not deep and wide enough so we can't fit our clothes properly there. The room has a coffee maker, but no coffee capsules or tea bags, sugar (I was told I'd need to purchase that), which is basic even in simple guesthouses, only a tiny bin in the toilet (we could also have bin the room). -The dining space is very small and can get too crowded. No salt/pepper/sugar sachets or shakers on the tables, meaning you need to keep standing up to go to the buffet to get these supplies.

hôtel très bien place pour visiter , petit déjeuner convenable., calme très bonne réception. par contre très déçu pour la chambre très petite et salle de bain très petite il fallait pas être gros pour y rentrer entre la porte la douche et le lavabo.
