This was a great spot! The walkability to the beach was very convenient and the pool area was clean and nice. It was a great place to relax in the afternoon after a long day of exploring the Algarve. The gym, indoor pool, and spa were very nice. There was parking on site which was nice. The only downside was the walkability to go to the town, or restaurants so there was only 1 restaurant on site, and a small beach restaurant close by that stops serving food at 5pm. However if you are looking for just a place to relax and unwind with beach access without having to drive this is a great spot.

Heerlijke plek aan het strand (wel trappen lopen). Auto nodig voor wat dagelijkse uitjes maar gratis parkeren in de buurt of betaald in de garage. Ontbijt is uitgebreid en van goede kwaliteit. Uitstraling verbeterd na recente renovatie.

The hotel and grounds are superb. However the swimming pools are prohibitively cold, most guests fold they could not swim. Housekeeping did an excellent job, especially Rosie. The gym is great and the spa area was kept clean.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The facilities were immaculate, the pool area was gorgeous, breakfast was lovely and the photos definitely don’t do the wellness centre enough justice. The gym was amazing as well as the indoor pool area and the spin studio. Would definitely return, every member of staff was so lovely and we had a very luxurious holiday!

My 15 year old daughter and I had a mini break together and NAU Sao Rafael Atlantico was the perfect location. The room was spacious with stunning views of the garden and although our room was located near the pools, it was really quiet and we weren't disturbed by any noticeable noise. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and made sure our every need was catered for. The gardens and pool area were immaculate and the boardwalk down to the beach was stunning. Plenty of dining options - we opted to have the buffet style dinner and the variety was fabulous and delicious. Definitely the place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing break. We didn't use the spa facilities but we were offered discounted rates while we were there. Will absolutely return.

A fantastic setting with a spectacular beach. Since it was off season the beach and the hotel were pretty empty and quiet. (I was lucky with great weather.) I found the food overpriced so I went into town to eat many nights, but enjoyed the breakfast buffets. The gym was had many machines, dumbbells and barbells. (I do wish the dumbells didn't jump from 12kg to 17.5kg, skipping 15kg.) Tiny issues in a very nice stay. Hotel was spotlessly clean and staff was always helpful.

Generally the hotel fell short of what is expected for a 5 star hotel. It was not well maintained and beds had bed bugs. The room layout although large was open to the bathroom meaning smells were circulating the entire room. Toiletries had to be replaced after asking for them instead of proactively doing it. Not great, avoid.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and cared for. Liked the breakfast that was included and the resort facilities with the beach area. Did not like that the lounge chairs on the beach were not included. Our room # 252 was very, very dissappointing, and definitely not up to standards, particularly with being claimed as a 5* hotel. - many spots of mould in the shower walls and tiles coming off - shower water did not drain, large amounts of water in the basin that did not move for drainage - toilet plunger did not work on the left side - large areas missing paint in washroom and throughout the room - toilet dripping all day and night, it may be possible that the drippings are from the washroom above. Hard to sleep with the continuous dripping. - no light over the hallway door area, very dark at night, particularly with being at the end of the hallway. - large cracks in the door trim and around some baseboards. - no bed sheet cover, bed cover is the only choice to cover yourself at night. - bar fridge is not clearly advertised for charges for non alcoholic beverages. All concerns have been addressed with the manager. We only stayed 3 nights and addressed the concerns at the end of our stay. Finding it hard to believe no one else complained? This room would be a 2* with all its pre existing conditions. Check-in was not a delightful experience either.

The property is nice and close to the beach and other great sights. The rooms are awful. Extremely old with breaks and holes in the walls around the bathroom. Stains on the outside carpets. There was even a big blood stain on our curtain. The pillows are like mush, the most uncomfortable pillows I have ever encountered. The food is average. I was happy to leave the hotel when our stay was over.

Beautiful hotel, great location! Very close to a beautiful beach and the property was great. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool and lounges were amazing. If you want to be close to the strip this is a little further away but we were ok with that as this was a nice quiet stay. Hotel was a short walk to some great restaurants and decently close to the marina. Had a great stay.

We liked the design of the hotel, the overall vibe, the breakfast, the rooms, the gym, the morning view from the outside breakfast tables, the location close to the sea, the swimming pools, the terrace. The limited number of rooms. The reception staff changes quite frequently so it's hard to socially create a connection. Sometimes the English is a bit less fluent but manageable as long as the person is customer friendly and keeps smiling. There were a few employees that needed to de-ice at first but turned out to be funnier and having more sense of humor than initially expressed. It's a bit of a pity that the carpets in the corridors are creeping and not as flat and tight as they are supprosed to be. More free drink water bottles would come in handy. There were a few small defects in our room that remained unfixed such as the TV. Ridiculous to try and charge money to watch a movie. This should be included.

The hotel was lovely, quiet and calm. Our room was huge, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great and a lot of choice. We had a view of the sea which was great. Not sure I would rate it as a 5* but its not far off. The prices within the hotel were very expensive - 18 euros for a rather bland sandwich was too much.

A plush modern hotel with superb design features and warm colour scheme. Very large and comfortable room. I enjoyed a complimentary glass of procesco which was very welcoming. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I consider $35 each morning excessive for breakfast. I opted for room service on a couple of occasions which was excellent - good in room breakfast and 24/7 menu. The pool bar for lunch was good as too was the rooftop bar. Whilst I found the food offered in the restaurant was of high quality I feel the menu was very limited for choice. A little disappointed that the other restaurant was closed as I think another dining option is needed. The gardens surrounding the hotel were attractive with a gate leading down to a very nice beach area complete with a good beach bar for lunch and drinks. A very interesting day trip was organised by the hotel which was delightful. I enjoyed my stay in idyllic surroundings.

Really beautiful renovation of the hotel. Brilliant reception and spa staff. The waiting staff at both the pool and restaurant was a big let down unfortunately. Understandably, the hotel is in its “soft launch” phase but breakfast time was woeful. Took too long to get orders taken for drinks, then even longer to receive a coffee - often received after we’d finished eating. Cutlery wasn’t on the table and it arrived with the drinks which meant you’d be eating food from the buffet but have no cutlery. In my opinion, guests would rather serve themselves than have to wait for the service. Having filter coffee available for self serve would be my suggestion as well as having cutlery readily available at the buffet section. The waiting staff were beyond friendly but basic service was lacking. By the end of the week, our patience had run out unfortunately. Likewise at the pool, staff weren’t often visible and trying to get drinks at the pool was difficult. Saying that, the food was very tasty at breakfast and at the pool. We never ate dinner at the restaurant for fear of bad service again. I wouldn’t usually be so critical but it’s a 5 star hotel and the most basic things were missing. On a positive note, we had an amazing spa treatment and the bedroom was stunning. Great location to other great restaurants close by. Such a pity about the service as it really lets down what could be an amazing hotel. Hopefully just teething probs and will be sorted by mgmt soon.

The property was brand new when I visited - with trendy interiors, lovely rooms and near the sea. However, it felt like the hotel was running itself, I've never seen anything like that. The breakfast was packed withstaff wondering around not knowing what they were doing, we would schedule a fitness class and the instructors wouldn't show up, no one had a clue if yoga should be booked or not...it's just a never ending list. We were even lied that the instructor was ill (after no one bothered informing us that the class is not happening) and although we were promised they would schedule a class for the next day and call us, that never happened. The conciarge was lovely and tried helping but she can't run the whole hotel in addition to her regular job. Pools were lively but the number of sunbeds and sun umbrellas were way too low for the number of guests (all the sunbeds would be taken before 10am), I even saw people getting into a physical flight about them - staff didn't react even then, although I asked them to intervene. All in all, a lovely property but completely mismanaged which would probably prevent me from coming back as I don't need all this stress on holiday.

We very much enjoyed staying around the pool, which was very clean and with plenty of fresh towels available. My favourite part of the day was breakfast, with lots of options for everyone and freshly squeezed juice options and coffee prepared to order. There was even a chef who prepared omelettes, poached eggs and other 'specialities of the day' as requested. All products, such as bread, cheese, fruit and veg were tasty and good quality. There are plenty of decent, good restaurants within walking distance. I especially recommend Il Borgo (Italian) and Margem Sul (Portuguese-style steak was delicious).

Beautiful hotel, great location! Very close to a beautiful beach and the property was great. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool and lounges were amazing. If you want to be close to the strip this is a little further away but we were ok with that as this was a nice quiet stay. Hotel was a short walk to some great restaurants and decently close to the marina. Had a great stay.

The property - is well cared for . Garden, pathways & pool area are all nice to spend time in. Easy access to the ocean / beach . The hotel room is spacious and comfortable. Onsite parking & Spa services available. Buffet Breakfast had a great assortment &food was good. Staff were very friendly & professional. I would give hotel a low walkable score. They do offer some transportation to Old town.

The hotel is in a great location on top of the cliffs with easy access to a beautiful beach 2 mins walk away. The whole hotel is lovely, rooms, pools etc. we did notice one of the restaurants in the hotel was shut but there were restaurants within walking distance if you didn’t mind a 29 min walk otherwise it would be very limited dining. The old town is a free bus ride away but it’s a 25 min walk as it only runs 3 times a day. Here you will find the ‘party’ if you wanted it, it’s lovely in day before the clubs get going, but it’s worth noting the hotel itself is in a lovely peaceful quite spot on top of the cliffs with sea views.

Awesome hotel. Spacious rooms. Amazing selection of breakfast. Staff is very nice. Beach is literally 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Only thing is, it’s away from the city center and have to call Uber for everything if you are not driving. We loved our stay in this hotel.

The staff were super friendly, very welcoming & we’re always around if you needed anything. The hotel itself is in a nice quiet area, and you’re only a super cheap Uber away from the Old town, and Marina, both are also very walkable. There are some incredible restaurants around, some of the best food I’ve ever had. I can’t comment on anything past the breakfast at the hotel, as I didn’t eat in, apart from the breakfast as it was included & that was very good, starts your day off right. Beach was really quiet, so no fighting for a good spot or bed, overall I highly recommend it, I will definitely be back here and recommending it to all my friends. Thank you for a great holiday.

The pool area and outside is gorgeous and perfect to chill in with three pools and a variety of sun loungers, athough it can get busy. Having said that the pool staff are so good, patient and fairly quick even when it is busy. However, I think sometimes other areas like reception were not always as efficient and sometimes took a really long time to answer calls. breakfast was nice but if you are vegetarian and don't eat eggs, I found hot options very limited. It is easy to make these and make them tasty, with not too much effort. For example, make scrambled tofu instead of eggs or even have some has browns or avocado on toast. We were limited in this respect. Overall a lovely hotel but not quite 5 stars.

Hotel is very nice. Our room was large, clean and well equipped. Only downside are food options. Pool side bar and staff were very particular. Not allowed to order or eat anywhere other than the table. Weren't allowed to eat by the sun loungers which is very odd. No other lunch options other than that. Buffet was good but could at least serve water as a minimum. Still water was 6 euros which is an absolute rip off.

A plush modern hotel with superb design features and warm colour scheme. Very large and comfortable room. I enjoyed a complimentary glass of procesco which was very welcoming. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I consider $35 each morning excessive for breakfast. I opted for room service on a couple of occasions which was excellent - good in room breakfast and 24/7 menu. The pool bar for lunch was good as too was the rooftop bar. Whilst I found the food offered in the restaurant was of high quality I feel the menu was very limited for choice. A little disappointed that the other restaurant was closed as I think another dining option is needed. The gardens surrounding the hotel were attractive with a gate leading down to a very nice beach area complete with a good beach bar for lunch and drinks. A very interesting day trip was organised by the hotel which was delightful. I enjoyed my stay in idyllic surroundings.

We ordered room service upon arrival, after having not eaten for close to 36 hours. We both developed severe food poisoning and were extremely ill for the next 2 days. We let reception know, we emailed the hotel, neither responded in any way, and in the end gave us a bill

Hotel is very nice, but the area is boring and without charm. Coast is nice. You will need a car. And do not travel to Algarve for the food … there are not many upscale restaurants if you are a foodie, and in general Algarve lacks the charming villages as you will find in France, Italy, Spain and Greece. Hotel itself is clean, nicely maintained, and not crowded. Restaurants are a bit plain, but actually the most upscale you can find in the area. Il Borgo restaurant around the corner is the best within walking distance (5 mins from the hotel).
