All round this is a very pleasant place to stay, all the more so thanks to the wonderful staff. In particular the knowledgeable and welcoming guys, Hernane and David, on the reception. The rooftop balcony is delightful and offers spectacular views of the city and its marina. For sure some people will have a moan that some of the furnishings are outdated, but personally I consider this adds to the character and charm of the hotel. The main square is literally only a couple of minutes away with an abundance of shops and excellent cafes.
All round this is a very pleasant place to stay, all the more so thanks to the wonderful staff. In particular the knowledgeable and welcoming guys, Hernane and David, on the reception. The rooftop balcony is delightful and offers spectacular views of the city and its marina. For sure some people will have a moan that some of the furnishings are outdated, but personally I consider this adds to the character and charm of the hotel. The main square is literally only a couple of minutes away with an abundance of shops and excellent cafes.

Room was small and old but you don’t go there for the room. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable. It was very close to the main area and for the price it was good. The rooftop terrace was also a nice bonus!

I enjoyed my stay at the Lagosmar. Hernani at the front desk made my stay what is was. He is exceptional, professional, friendly, helpful and above all caring. I loved the terrace, a beautiful space to relax and the best place to be for sunset. Hernani helped me with extending my stay, he had great information on where to go and what to do and made being there so easy. Thanks

Perfectly located in the centre of the town, the front desk staff were very helpful and suggested some great restaurants and cafes. Would highly recommend staying here. The only issue was that there wasn't a mini fridge in the room, so you couldn't buy food for beach days. The rest of the hotel components were amazing. The hotel and room was a bit out-dated but it was clean and the beds were firm which is our preference.

This is a charming older hotel and retains a sense of class. The staff is really amazing and they make you feel very special. Don’t expect pillow top beds or rain fall shower heads - it’s definitely an older property but it has good sized, clean rooms with large closets. There’s a lovely roof top sitting area with an amazing view. It’s tricky to get to with a car - no parking or even a pull out for checking in - so if you really need a car to be close to you this isn’t your place - but otherwise this hotel is quaint and in an excellent location.

Decent property. Front of desk was the highlight - the gentleman who checked us in was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is located in a really nice spot, close to all the restaurants and the main squares in area. Be aware that the property does not have any private parking or street parking. The hotel could also use a decor upgrade but other than everything is decent.

However, you need to remember that the price and location may outweigh these wants. Staff are wonderful! Rooftop patio was closed for repairs. Extremely welcoming reception staff. This property is very well located in the centre of town. The room was spacious with older but clean and well maintained furniture and appliances. The adjoining patio opened up the room for very enjoyable afternoons al fresco. Only two things missing were a fridge and a safe.

Great location and a great stay! Rooftop patio is a perfect spot to sit in the evenings as the sun sets, you can lookout over the bay and fishing wharves. Definitely would recommend, it’s a quiet location, but close to everything!

Stayed at the property for 3 nights. Did not have too much expectations. The rooftop terrace is beautiful. Hotel is older so expect a musky smell. Expect to hear your neighbours through the walls. Experienced ants in the bathroom for the whole stay. You get what you pay for.

It was a very nice experience. Very helpful and cheerful staff and good location at center of Lagos. Only the artificial light of the room was not the best. The room is very clean and i will be back of course in my next trip to Lagos.

I don’t know why this hotel has good reviews. I booked this because of the reviews and the cleanliness but when we got there I was so disappointed. It really changed my mood on our stay at Lagos. This place was old and definitely needs a renovation. There was a musty smell in the room. I could tell the moment we went inside that the place was dirty. The toilet, it was so dated, the sink faucet was loose when you needed to turn on faucet, towel rack was coming off the wall and hair dryer not working. Had to borrow from reception for the portable. The beds, gross!!! It had a few hair on it by the pillow on both beds and the end of the bed has shoe mark. Personally, I do not think the sheets were replaced. Disgusting and dirty!!!The tv plug was not working and you cannot plug the tv. Hence we cannot watch anything at night. Thank God we only stay for two nights there, I was so disgusted with the place. Overall, the only good this about this place it the location. Everything else it’s terrible. I didn’t care so much of being dated but I cared about the cleanliness and this place was not.

The staff were accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The beds were firm. The hotel is in the middle of Old Town and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Even though it was close to the busy areas we could not hear the noise. We enjoyed our stay there.

I liked the location of hotel. It is 2 star hotels so I did not expect much. Bed was comfortable but blanket could be more modern. Wool blankets are stored in the closet with strange smell. Upon my arrival floor in the roomwas sticky, I swiped it with wet paper and paper was completely black. Bathroom was clean.

The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. However, if you have a car, be aware that there is no parking nearby and it is impossible to stop in front of the hotel to unload your luggage. The welcome was impeccable and the room was clean. The hotel is old and poorly maintained. The spring mattress is very uncomfortable and the pillow is so thin it's like not having one at all. The sink and shower drained slowly and there was no soundproofing. If you are looking for a well-located, clean and inexpensive place to stay and comfort is not a priority for you, this place will do. If not, you should explore other options

É um hotel um pouco velho, então quem procura modernidade não seria o ideal. As pessoas que trabalham lá me trataram super bem. As paredes são finas (pelo menos no meu quarto) então você escuta os outros se falarem alto. Fica bem perto de supermercado e centro. A praia dona Ana cerca de 15-20 minutos a pé.

Very, very outdated. Carpets have what looks to be generations of set-in stains and dirt. Walls are SO thin - I could hear my neighbor brushing his teeth, gagging while brushing his tongue, and using the bathroom. I guess this is common. Could use some serious renovations - it doesn’t need to be fancy, but just some updates would do the place good. It’s very 80s. Otherwise, staff was friendly and the location is an easy walk in to the town.

This hotel is very good value for the money, clean and with very high standard of service. We had breakfast in the hotel every day and were totally happy with that. Outdoor facilities like balcony and roof terrace are both on the positive side. On the not so positive side is that we could very well hear sounds and noise from neighbouring rooms. Also the beds need better mattresses for a long term stay, a double top mattress would do and make single beds into a double bed.
This hotel is very good value for the money, clean and with very high standard of service. We had breakfast in the hotel every day and were totally happy with that. Location is the star of this hotel, restaurant, supermarket, marina, shopping all within 10 mins walk. The front desk staff David is excellent, very patient, helpful. The hotel is dated with no vent in the bathroom needs to put into consideration. But over all is very nice to have short stay in Lagos

Patricia at the front desk was amazing she was incredibly helpful this woman deserves a raise. I fell off the bike I rented and when I got back to the hotel to relax she offered to clean my wounds she went and got iodine and ice very kind compassionate person that’s who you want working for you. The young man with the glasses was also very kind and helpful. Lovely stay ty will definitely come back

The location of this property was smazing. Right in the heart of the old town. On a tiny little street barely wide enough for a car. There is no where to park at all. Cant even stop to drop luggage. Parking can be found, underground, not far on tge nain strip. The young man at the front desk was great. English was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were old and tight. No room for suitcases toiletries etc. Carpets old and worn. Didnt know bathroom fixtures came in that colir brown. Would recommend as long as lication is most important.

The staff were accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The beds were firm. The hotel is in the middle of Old Town and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Even though it was close to the busy areas we could not hear the noise. We enjoyed our stay there.

Another very enjoyable stay at the Lagosmar! Staff all very friendly, professional and welcoming in this central, little hotel. Minutes walk from everywhere, the marina, the beaches, the train & bus stations and dozens of restaurants in this charming town. An older building but well maintained and very good value. Thank you again for your hospitality! Hopefully, return next year!

This is a charming older hotel and retains a sense of class. The staff is really amazing and they make you feel very special. Don’t expect pillow top beds or rain fall shower heads - it’s definitely an older property but it has good sized, clean rooms with large closets. There’s a lovely roof top sitting area with an amazing view. It’s tricky to get to with a car - no parking or even a pull out for checking in - so if you really need a car to be close to you this isn’t your place - but otherwise this hotel is quaint and in an excellent location.

It was few steos away from the centre, but away from the crowd. The b'fast was very good. Reception was very friendly and helpful. The most important factor for me was they having an elevator to the floors. Many places in Portugal i had to climb 3 stories sometimes. Although I had only a hand luggage, it becomes a problem, when you have to climb stairs after travelling around.

The staff were great. The breakfast was very nice with delicious expresso ( two machines) and the best cheesecake I'd had all trip! The gentleman overseeing it was super kind and friendly. The problem was lack of hot water in the shower. It was lukewarm at best with only the 'hot' tap on. I Iet it run awhile to see if that would help but that seemed wasteful and it made no difference. Both days I felt chilled after my shower. For this reason, I may not return again.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the accommodation was basic but that's what I expected for the price. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast perfect. And the location was absolutely ideal, which was the main thing I was looking for, being a solo female traveller I needed to be close enough enough to everything. They also had a lovely rooftop terrace where you could take up your own food and drink and enjoy the view. The only small thing I would say could be improved, was the balcony was not cleaned once while I was there and wasn't clean when I arrived. It's a shame because you get quite a big area with table, chairs and sun loungers but felt I couldn't make use of them. Other than that everything else was great and I'd definitely recommend it.

Das Hotel Lagosmar liegt mitten in der Altstadt und ist somit für Autofahrer schlecht erreichbar. Auch sollte man nicht vor dem offiziellen Check-in dort eintreffen, da es leider keinen Gepäckraum gibt. Das Zimmer ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber war sauber, vom Balkon schaut man auf eine Betonwand, dafür ist es ruhig. Das Frühstück war gut und die Mitarbeiter:innen waren mit Ausnahme der Mitarbeiterin beim verfrühten Check-in sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück, das leider erst ab 8:00 Uhr serviert, ist soweit okay, auch wenn es nur Obstsalat aus der Dose gibt und abgepackte Marmelade und Butter, was nicht sehr nachhaltig ist. Aber die zentrale Lage, die schöne Dachterasse und der nette Service hat diese kleinen Einschränkungen aufgehoben.

Walls were THIN, could hear everything from the street at points it sounded like people were talking in our room we could hear their conversation so clearly. The air conditioning was the most confusing air conditioning , never figured it out by the end of the stay would just click buttons until it turned on and stayed on. Otherwise the stay was fine it is located in a great area, very very walkable with restaurants and shops nearby in the heart of Lagos.
