Our 2 night stay at the Penina was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Every member of the team were so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, the grounds and facilities at the pool were wonderful. The food in the Henry Cotton restaurant was excellent. We played tennis and the golf course was amazing and excellent value. We would definitely recommend and we are already planning to return to the Penina next year. Thank you Penina for a wonderful stay.

Pretende-se ter num hotel uma experiencia positiva. Neste Hotel os colaboradores fazem a diferença. O resultado é que apesar de não serem muitos conseguem tornar os dias num descanso . Tem uma piscina magnifica sempre muito bem cuidada e limpa com a água a cumprir os requisitos. Pequeno almoço superlativamente bom. qualquer coisa de que nos lembremos de querer.... está lá!!! Os quartos com vista para os jardins , campos de golfe e piscina são muito bons. Tem um clube de golfe de grande categoria. Tem transfers para área de praia no Alvor concessionada e com apoio de restaurante. Aspetos menos conseguidos: jantares buffet e o Grill.

Hotel antigo mas bem conservado. Nestes dias de muito calor as enormes áreas sociais muito bem refrigeradas. Recepção muito simpática , atenta, eficiente e disponível. Pequeno almoço ou café da manhã simplesmente o melhor que experimentámos nesta categoria de hotéis de luxo. Tem tudo em quantidade e qualidade irresistível. Piscina enorme das maiores do Algarve (60m x 20m) com a água a uns simpáticos 27º. Jardins muito bem tratados e restaurantes do empreendimento com qualidade de serviço e também qualidade. The property is very nice, the pool is superb however they close it very early at 7 pm but I understand they may want to prevent noise for the tenants facing the pool. The staff in general was nice, but a few were a little annoyed by questions. You need a car I will not walk outside the property since it is a main road. They offer a shuttle to the Alvor beach ( it is a public beach) you can inquire if they offer other stops, I am sure Uber works fine too. If dinning in the property make sure to reserve in advance. Our room on the 4th floor was far from the elevator, easier to take the stairs, however our view was breathtaking looking at the golf course, pool, and far town (back of the property) it had a semi second level with a desk and balcony very nice room layout for two. The buffet breakfast was also very nice with a good selection. It was definitely a beautiful stay but I didn’t expect it to be so uptight. Close to Silves and Lagos. It is conveniently located to explore other areas.

Très bel hôtel, le personnel est très gentil et accueillant. La piscine est grande, avec serviette fournie et matelas de transat pour plus de confort! P’tit Dej avec un large choix et très très bon. La propreté … nickel ! Le seul point négatif est qu’il n’y ait aucune animation le soir donc obligé de sortir si on veut se divertir un peu, ce qui est bien dommage car il faut une voiture, l’hôtel est excentré ! Rien à pied. Mais nous y avons passé un agréable séjour.. Un grand merci à l’équipe !

Estava com muita expectativa para um Hotel de 5 Estrelas, no entanto em alguns aspetos não foi agradável, o quarto era muito pequeno para três pessoas, a limpeza do quarto também deixa muito a desejar. Os pontos positivos foram a piscina e o transfer para a praia. Os pontos negativos a limpeza, o pequeno almoço e tudo muito caro.

We had 3 nights at Penina after a week in Vilamoura. We arrived at 1.30pm and were able to check in and use the facilities straightaway. We had a mountain facing room which was fine for a short stay. The buffet restaurant was disappointing - the Mexican food was very bland. The Italian restaurant wasn’t much better, the scallops hadn’t been seared, neither had the skin on the sea bass. The Grill restaurant was much better, with excellent service and significantly better food. The food at the Henry Cotton restaurant was good but overpriced for what was provided. Disappointingly the beach club was not open - on the website says open April to October, but clearly this is variable! The golf service is very efficient. We only played the resort course, but had no problems playing when we wanted. Although check out is by midday, we were able to play golf and use the facilities in the locker room afterwards, so we didn’t leave until 4.30 pm. Generally a comfortable hotel although a little dated. It was quite windy whilst we were there, so an indoor pool would be nice.

Penina Hotel is lovely and the staff are fabulous. It might be a little tired but as one guest said to me in the lift - she’s a grand old lady - maybe a little tired, but she gets the job done.

An amazing and tranquil place to stay. Staff were lovely and always helpful, with a special mention to Christie who always went above and beyond. Breakfast was excellent rooms were clean with comfortable beds and nespresso machine. Always loungers available with comfortable cushions.

I’ve been to Penina for 20 plus years and love the place but it needs some serious money spent on the hotel and golf course. Each year it deteriorates a bit more this includes the staffs as well as the hotel and golf course. I will return but not play golf there until they get the course in better shape

Hotellet är absolut inte 5 stjärnor som det står, kanske på 70 talet när det invigdes. Slitet, gammalt. Men trevlig resturang och golfbana som räddar betyget lite.

Très bon sejour. Hôtel : Très bien, chambre correcte et très propre, restaurants sur place très bien avec des prix abordables et une cuisine parfaite, piscine très grande et bien entretenue. Service et personnel : Personnel très à l'écoute, très gentil et aux petits soins. Service impeccable. Petit bémol concernant l'insonorisation des chambres.

Très bien. Personnel agréable, hôtel confortable avec grande piscine. Excellent petit déjeuner et chambre bien confortable, très spacieuse. Au calme mais bien situé, avec un parking gratuit et proche de Portimao ou Lagos. Je recommande fortement.

Estava com muita expectativa para um Hotel de 5 Estrelas, no entanto em alguns aspetos não foi agradável, o quarto era muito pequeno para três pessoas, a limpeza do quarto também deixa muito a desejar. Os pontos positivos foram a piscina e o transfer para a praia. Os pontos negativos a limpeza, o pequeno almoço e tudo muito caro.

Très bon sejour. Hôtel : Très bien, chambre correcte et très propre, restaurants sur place très bien avec des prix abordables et une cuisine parfaite, piscine très grande et bien entretenue. Our 2 night stay at the Penina was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Every member of the team were so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, the grounds and facilities at the pool were wonderful. The food in the Henry Cotton restaurant was excellent. We played tennis and the golf course was amazing and excellent value. We would definitely recommend and we are already planning to return to the Penina next year. Thank you Penina for a wonderful stay.

Penina Hotel is lovely and the staff are fabulous. It might be a little tired but as one guest said to me in the lift - she’s a grand old lady - maybe a little tired, but she gets the job done.

The property is very nice, the pool is superb however they close it very early at 7 pm but I understand they may want to prevent noise for the tenants facing the pool. The staff in general was nice, but a few were a little annoyed by questions. You need a car I will not walk outside the property since it is a main road. They offer a shuttle to the Alvor beach ( it is a public beach) you can inquire if they offer other stops, I am sure Uber works fine too. If dinning in the property make sure to reserve in advance. Our room on the 4th floor was far from the elevator, easier to take the stairs, however our view was breathtaking looking at the golf course, pool, and far town (back of the property) it had a semi second level with a desk and balcony very nice room layout for two. The buffet breakfast was also very nice with a good selection. It was definitely a beautiful stay but I didn’t expect it to be so uptight. Close to Silves and Lagos. It is conveniently located to explore other areas.

We had 3 nights at Penina after a week in Vilamoura. We arrived at 1.30pm and were able to check in and use the facilities straightaway. We had a mountain facing room which was fine for a short stay. The buffet restaurant was disappointing - the Mexican food was very bland. The Italian restaurant wasn’t much better, the scallops hadn’t been seared, neither had the skin on the sea bass. The Grill restaurant was much better, with excellent service and significantly better food. The food at the Henry Cotton restaurant was good but overpriced for what was provided. Disappointingly the beach club was not open - on the website says open April to October, but clearly this is variable! The golf service is very efficient. We only played the resort course, but had no problems playing when we wanted. Although check out is by midday, we were able to play golf and use the facilities in the locker room afterwards, so we didn’t leave until 4.30 pm. Generally a comfortable hotel although a little dated. It was quite windy whilst we were there, so an indoor pool would be nice.

Tem uma piscina magnifica sempre muito bem cuidada e limpa com a água a cumprir os requisitos. Pequeno almoço superlativamente bom. qualquer coisa de que nos lembremos de querer.... está lá!!! En general desde que llegamos al hotel todo ha ido genial. La única queja la entrada, en mi opinión está un poco mal hecha, hay que ir hasta la rotonda siguiente para dar la vuelta y poder entrar, y a la salida la carretera está muy desgastada. Todo lo demás ha ido bien, buen servicio, buenas instalaciones…

Hotel antigo mas bem conservado. Nestes dias de muito calor as enormes áreas sociais muito bem refrigeradas. Recepção muito simpática , atenta, eficiente e disponível. Pequeno almoço ou café da manhã simplesmente o melhor que experimentámos nesta categoria de hotéis de luxo. Tem tudo em quantidade e qualidade irresistível.
