The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was epic. Parking is a block away and a bit of a challenge, but was only 10 euros.

Very nice staff. Excellent location. Quiet rooms. Rusty equipment in the gym.

The hotel was lovely. The car park was in a convenient location, however, the parking was too small and tight spaces.

Undergoing a major remodel so it is not for the handicapped . Stairs just to get the elevator. Remodel should be done by June. Otherwise excellent. Lovely staff, convenient to main shopping area and the train Station

Beautiful Hotel, particularly the lobby. Our room floor was a little dated and well worn. One elevator was not in service the first night. The room was clean and comfortable, however when we went to shower, had no water. Maintenance came and we were provided a replacement room later that afternoon. Mechanical issues are understandable and staff treated us excellently to move us to a room with working facility. Food and Service was excellent in the Hotel restaurants. Parking is in a car park behind the hotel, no issue getting a spot to park, but access and size of parking spots were quite challenging. Very narrow entry and exit along with tiny spots to be noted.

Parking is offsite and tricky to find. Very tight and hard to navigate. Great restaurant, friendly staff.

A/C would have been welcome. Lots of equipment in the gym, but rusty and gym needed cleaning. Very friendly staff and bartenders.

Beautiful old hotel with high ceilings, friendly staff and great food! Getting there and parking were problematic; no parking on-site, but they have an arrangement with a garage five doors down.only problem is there was no indication of this, and the hotel address in GPS had us circling the block and trying to drive down non-existant roads on their website map! An indication of the parking garage address would have saved us over an hour of driving around, calling, and getting confusing information.

The carpet was pretty dirty and there were quite a few areas inside the room that could’ve used better cleaning.

The Metropole is showing its age. Carpets throughout are stained. Water pressure on bathroom sink and toilet was awful Bathroom was extremely tight Stayed end of September and hotel overall was very warm Definitely not worth the money Location was the positive. Great area to be in

Excellent place, lovely room, lovely staff and amazingly clean!

We enjoyed our stay here. However, I listed on the booking it was our anniversary and not much care was taken. The first room was ok but not cleaned properly, with hair and dust left in easy to see areas and the door handle was wabbly. We received an upgrade and the staff were lovely when we brought their attention to this. Unfortunately similar situation, handle on cupboard came off when I opened it, bathroom clean but few hairs that weren’t ours in easy to spot areas. Bed was very comfortable, bar staff fantastic and the girl at reception was lovely. Great staff but think some investment is needed in the bedrooms

I’m going to try and be fair but disappointed is an understatement. Breakfast, and breakfast staff were great, as was the location of the hotel. However, it’s a terrible hotel. It’s old, rundown and unclean. No air conditioning, dirty towels, plumbing including showers and toilets hardly work, the rooms are so small the undersized beds don’t fit in the room (can use the desk chair) and they claim it’s a 4 star hotel. Housekeeping left dirty coffee cups when attending to the room. I could go on. Simply this; find another place to stay.

Our stay here was amazing! The staff were all incredibly nice and accommodating. The rooms and common areas were clean and orderly as well. I would stay here again without question!

We had dirty looking towels in our hotel room. Other than that, the place is good. The surrounding area is very lively.

The hotel is nicely located in the heart of town. Shopping and dining is within walking distance, with many options. The staff were great, and service they provided was excellent. The building itself is old, and the old creaky floors give that away. The single elevator is very slow. The queen room is very small. Not much space for luggage and personal items. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. The hotel provides one table fan, which was barely adequate for our west-facing room. It was too warm in the room. If you want a clean place just to sleep, this works; not much else you can do in the room.

Room was spacious this was after we refused first room 409 because window looked out onto a brick wall we eventually had 412 which better but bathroom needs refurbishing and water pressure was very low

The hotel main areas are in stunning condition after the refit. The rooms are in need of a definite revamp. The hotel is excellent for convenience to access travel links, being able to nip down the street or head out for something to eat lots of availablity in that respect but a good revamp in the rooms would set this hotel miles apart from the rest.

No water pressure and shower didn’t work Properly.

No aircon just fan and the room was extremely hot the whole day. Toilet needs around 5min until someone else can use it as everythingis so old. The bathroom door and tube looks very old and the the woodn door was already soft on the bottome. Scratches everywhere in the room so all we weren't happy with that hotel. Its a good area easy to acess. Carpark is a 2min walk away from the hotel as well in a very very tiny carpark be prepared as well!

Superbe suite, très propre avec une salle de bain magnifique. Petit déjeuner top. Juste le bruit de la rue rentre beaucoup dans la chambre mais c’est la vie de la ville.

Lovely hotel lobby and bar but this hotel has only double beds in all rooms and we had room at front of hotel and got no sleep with the constant noise from late night revellers.

Good staff, great breakfast, but the room had a heater that we could not turn off (in June), and despite asking the hotel for assistance, the heat remained on for 2 days straight as we sweated out our stay.

The hotel was lovely, but our room was very humid.

Nice older hotel. Easy walking to good pubs and restaurants. The window in our room faced a wall and felt a little claustrophobic. The shower was huge with lots of spray options. Breakfast was very good. The parking is very tight.

Lovely central hotel, excellent value, friendly and front of house staff from porter to receptionists very good at their job. Only one constructive observation, breakfast room staff appeared to be on a different planet than in the room, slow, at times for the birds, slow to attend tables, replenishing food on the self service took an iternity. They lacked some sort of supervision. But other than that hotel excellent.

Fast, convenient, comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Poor customer service

The hotel is in a perfect location of buses, the train station, shopping and restaurants. The breakfasts were wonderful and the staff very accommodating. We just loved Lorraine. She is a delight and treated us as family.

This is a great hotel in Cork. We were told it's the best and I believe it. Everything was great....except....we were literally scammed out of 20 euros by one of the bartenders. At dinner one night, where we odly had at least 3 different people tending to us, one of the bartenders asked if he could take our dishes and did we want dessert. My wife ordered some cake thing and ice cream to go up to the room. He then asked if we wanted to pay so we said yes. He brought over the payment machine and somehow the subject of tipping came up. He claimed that it's better to give cash due to some made up claim. We gave him 20 euro. He walks back to the bar and up to another tender is "snapping" the bill in front of her as in, "check this out". After that we never saw him again. After waiting at least 15 minutes for the takeaway dessert, some guy comes up with the cake on a plate and the ice cream in a bowl. And no fork or spoon. We were irate. My wife approached a wonderful young man named Ian who helped check in also and told him the story. He was trying to give us back the money but we said no, we just want the dessert and for someone to speak to the bartender. Ian asked if he could buy us another round of drinks, we declined. He then personally brought out the takeaway and we went to our room. Not 10 minutes later, Ian arrived with complimentary drinks. He was a really considerate guy. But that bartender was a jerk.

Top notch attitude of the staff and inviting decor.

We got in early, so no rooms available at that time. I mentioned I had an interview in a few hours, and wondered if there was a quiet place I could go at the time. The concierge/doorman found a spot just off the reastauant and bar, but was a little loud with the music. He eventually found me a large conference room, and that was right after they rushed to get a room ready so we could check in, which gave me just enough time to iron a shirt. They went out of their way to accommodate. Outstanding service!

Nice weekend in Cork. Hotel good, great location within a walking distance to everywhere. Definitely gonna stay here next time when in the town

Hotel location was great, although major road works are currently ongoing at the front of the hotel and start at 7:30am lasting all day. The bins for all the bars on the street were also all emptied from 5:30am onwards both days we were there, so we experienced a lot of disturbance in terms of noise and for that reason, didn’t get the best sleep. In fairness the hotel does tell you this on their website if you book direct, but when booked through hotels.com, it does not which would have been useful. The hotel itself was lovely, staff great and room clean and spacious

I had a great room this time. No real issues, but the room was hot and the window only opened 2 inches. Fan helped. Shower was magnificent. Check in was fast and efficient. Location is excellent. Avoid the restaurant.

The Metropole was delightful. All of the staff members were exceptional. We had great service for breakfast, dinners and at the bar. They were also very accommodating of our Irish family coming to visit. We will most definitely return. The location is also great for getting to the city center. Bus stops close by as well.

Easy access to buses, ahopping, great places to eat. Bar and lounge was great, food was excellent. Spicy margarita was terrible, but everything else was good. Rooms were very nice! Bed was super comfortable.
