Mount Errigal Hotel, Conference & Leisure Centre

Friendly service from all staff, a lovely afternoon spent in the pool, sauna & jacuzzi and the best fillet steak I’ve ever eaten in the bar for dinner. We had a fabulous stay 😊

Comfortable and clean room. The lobby and halls were also pristine. Restaurants available onsite. The pool was free but you must have a swim cap; available at the spa desk.

Room and pool area were excellent quality. I think its just been recently renovated. Bar good value but service was a bit slow. Not the fault of the staff as they were rushed off their feet.

A really plush, nice hotel. Excellent breakfast and lovely bar / restaurant. Leisure centre superb. Wish it was slightly more central in Letterkenny, but the bus stop is close by. A really pleasant 5 day stay!

Staff were excellent. The appearance of the hotel is welcoming and smart. However they need to look into how the door locks work as guests have to bang the doors to get them to close. When doors are being banged up to 3am this is very frustrating for guests trying to sleep. Also parking can be difficult even with limited spaces in the car park across the road.

Food was ok, not a great selection, asked for a plain ham toasted sandwich, it had to be returned twice before they got it right. Breakfast plates were cold, but aleast the food was warm! As long as you didnt look to carefully all appearances are grand, but they are having a refurbishment at the momment so can be quite noisy during the day. Bedding needs updating and tidied menu also nedds to take into account that not all people like sauces etc

Friendly and helpful staff greeted us. Our room clean and comfortable. As the weather was wet we made use of the leisure facilities and we're impressed by the size of the kids pool. Breakfast was self service with a wide selection of hot and cold options.

Room, staff, restaurant and spa were all great. Room was spotless and spacious. Food was amazing, staff were pleasant and helpful and the Sauna and Steam room were lovely. Would definitely return and would highly recommend

Stayed for one night whilst at Atlantic Technical University. Very convenient for the campus. Inside of the hotel is a little dated in places but my room was clean, very spacious and modern. The hotel is slightly noisy sometimes, I could hear the person in the room above me moving around in the morning but that is expected in an older building. The hotel staff were lovely, free parking is ample at the site and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

Shower in room would not produce hot water, staff attempted to fix, left shower tray dirty from their shoes when they left. Moved room - second room not quiet with noise from plant nearby. Moved again, now in room 3 - shower temperature ok for my partner, only lukewarm when I showered (and nowhere near 38degreC max temp as mixer indicates). At breakfast time I wished to bring breakfast to my room, asked several staff and all said this was fine, when I asked another staff member for a tray they refused saying there was a tray service, making me make saver trips with what I could carry each time.

Lovely staff and room. Just the shower, it looked great until I turned it on. Water trickled out. Very frustrating

AIR CONDITIONING MADE LOTS OF GURGLING WATER NOISE WOKE ME UP SEVERAL TIMES

Room at night was noisy just to road as window would not fully close. Had to move to another room the nxt day.

Large hotel who cater for large numbers. Room big but old with furniture battered but usable. TV don’t work. Breakfast good.

Our shower was broken, the beds are very uncomfortable. I’m not sure if we would book to stay again. We felt like the room was very dated and not as nice as the rest of the hotel? Very odd for the price and the style of the hotel. We were not overly impressed with our room at all.

Avoid this hotel! I wasn't going to leave a review about the terrible noise of drunks outside and throughout the hotel to all hours of the night (got no sleep at all). But today i have no choice to leave a review to warn others as the owner of this hotel has verbally attacked and belittled me infront of 3 small children. He banged on our door after we came up from swimming and proceeded to shout in my face about spray foam soap that the girls left in the shower. They take this soap swimming all the time as they wash themselves with it and have lots of fun at the same time (it literally washes away- its soap). I tried to explain to him that it was just soap and it washes away but he started to shout at and insult me infront of the kids saying "i need to discipline them and that i was a disgrace". I've never felt so annoyed and upset after a hotel stay- we were there for my daughters 9th birthday, the owner knew this as he was sitting behind our table last night when we did the cake in the restaurant. It was a big treat for my daughter and neices to stay at Mount Errigal but they were left so upset and scared by how the owner shouted at me infront of them, they were that nervous leaving our room to check out they wanted to run out to the car incase they saw him again. I did see him again and started to tell him how unprofessional and inappropriate his approach was to which he replied "don't you try to take the moral high ground". No wonder the place has so many bad reviews.

So the staff were friendly but very inexperienced. I are on site both nights. Ordered a bottle of wine first night and it was slammed in front of me with a there you go. Not even opened. Second night was worse when I ordered shepards pie and it came out burnt. No management at all around to complain so scoped it off and ate . Then asked for desert menu and a beer 20 mins later she looked at me brought over beer lobbed it on table and left menu. No sorry I forgot.Upon leaving next day I went to complain as finally I saw a manager but there was a queue. Very very disappointed in this I have to say but hopefully management will read this and not leave their team exposed like this again

We had a very pleasant 1 night stay for a wedding. The service was excellent, , the staff were helpful and courteous to us all. Our own room was clean and comfortable.

Stayed 2 nights. Guy at check in couldn’t work out how to process an American Express card, sent me to my room and told me we would sort it the next day. Then when I went to leave early the next morning to go to work the same guy physically grabbed me at the door and hauled me back stating we had to sort payment now in an extremely aggressive manner. I travel to 3-4 different hotels every week for work and have never been manhandled by a hotel staff member over something that could be sorted easily at any point during my stay. Avoid this place at all costs.

Attened a wedding here last week food was 5 star, rooms are a bit dated but the small amount of bar staff for a 200 wedding and normal restraunt on the night was shocking, at most 4 people were bar and sometimes 2 for the majority of the night. Experience in the staff seemed very young and untrained to deal with numbers.

Great welcome from reception staff. Well situated hotel. Large room with tea/coffee facilities, clean and spacious, bath/shower facilities. We did not have breakfast at the property but ate very nice meal at the bar in the evening. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Only problem we had was heating in our room, radiator not working - the one in bathroom was. Mentioned it to reception staff, an electric radiator was put in our room, it was bit small for size of the room, it was cold night. Any other radiator we passed in the hotel corridors was working. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay at Mount Errigal Hotel.

Good hotel as a pit stop to enjoy the rest of Donegal with on site parking free of charge. The food was really lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Loads of young inexperienced staff just floating round the hotel. All very polite and mannerly but not really doing much. No sign of senior staff or managerial staff at all so its not surprising there wasn't much work being done. Bar food sounded delicious on menu but was disappointing in reality. Decor is very dated. Mahogany everywhere. On the up side the bed was comfy and the curtains in my room were nice. The breakfast was also ok. I will be returning to Letterkenny in Dec but won't be staying here again.
