Great location let down by old & out dated facilities. Pros - Location...right in centre of tourist district. - private parking - great staff, very helpfull. - good room size. Cons - no lift in our building despite advertised as "having a lift". - no air conditioning...requiring windows to be left open and thus exposed to late night noise. - bathroom & shower very old, outdated, and in poor condition. In short, if you are under 25, like to party late and don't care where you sleep, it's perfect. But for those looking for comfort... look elsewhere.

Awesome location. Quiet at night. Good hot cocoa / coffee machine. Cool with luggage storage. Things I wish they had: air conditioning or fans, something other than a handheld shower head (although water heat and pressure were great!), extra pillows and towels if needed (they did bring extra pillows the second night), WiFi, toilet paper that doesn’t exfoliate. The location just about makes up for it.

Ótimo atendimento na recepção. Ficamos na parte do hotel sem elevador o que é ruim porque subir escadas com idosos e malas é bem complicado. O piso de madeira e portas rangem muito. Janelas sem cortinas e com “portas” de madeira muito difíceis para fechar. Tem máquina de água e bebidas quentes grátis na recepção e dão garrafa de vidro para água como cortesia, tem frigobar no quarto. Hotel bem no centro e perto de tudo. Estacionamento com poucas vagas. Quarto triplo enorme, com varanda e vista para o Mont Blanc. Pouca iluminação. Tem um sofá, uma mesa e uma mesa de centro. Banheiro grande com chuveiro e banheira.

Could not use the parking because of a race in Chamonix. The only solution was to pay €24 euros a day as compared to your advertised rate. I had to hold the shower head for my wife to take a shower because it was too tall. I am 6’5” and it was above my head, yet the shower head is limp and cannot be removed. There is a sign on the door that said the shower heads had a device installed to limit the use of water. Paint is chipping off the wall and there is a landline phone where my head should go with a piece of plywood beside it. There is no A/C, but thankfully the windows opened. There are no outlets close to where the bed is located, most are located in the bathroom. The price of this hotel was far too great to be as bare as it was. I would have expected to pay €60-€70 per night based on the quality of the room, not €175 (which doesn’t include parking).

This hotel Is well located in central Chamonix in an old fashioned chalet. My bedroom is comfortable & comes at a budget price. There is a comfortable library with a fireplace & travellers can also rest in the front lounge In woodsy, country style . Staff are polite & helpful . Upon checkin, I received free gift of a glass water tumbler. The tumbler will prove useful at work. Complimentary hot chocolate, tea & coffee is available from an auto serve machine at front level. An elevator is available in this hotel & a great convenience as my luggage is very heavy. This hotel provides rental surface & storage service for ski equipment for guests. Buffet breakfast is served in its dining room adorned with sheepskin rugs on its wooden chairs & photographs of Mont blanc on its walls. Overall, I will recommend this hotel to all travellers to Chamonix .

This property was absolutely awful! The rooms were nothing like the pictures. There was hair and dust all over the bathroom surfaces. The carpet was old and dusty and dirty. The light fixtures on the wall were sideways and almost upside down. We had to check all the sheets and bedding for bugs. It was the grossest place. My sister and I didn’t even want to sit down. After checking in and being in the room for a couple of hours we found another place to stay and checked out. Reception did not even ask us why. This place was a total waste of money!

The hotel is a little tired decor-wise but roomy, clean, and in an unbeatable location, so it didn’t bother us. Easy walk to the bus station and to all attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

First the positives. The hotel location in the center of Chamonix is fantastic. All of the staff I interacted with were helpful, pleasant and charming. Top-notch! Rooms were also affordable. Unfortunately, the hotel has somewhat of a feeling of being a flophouse. It is old and rundown and not well maintained. My room had carpet and curtains that look to be from 1974. The furniture was very basic but extremely beat up. Coffee stains abound on the nightstand and TV table. The floor was quite saggy and creaks as you walk across it which means you can also hear every footstep in the room above you. The bathroom and my room as a whole have had few updates since perhaps the World War II era. Even the old built-in cast-iron tub is still there. While, it might be viewed as somewhat quaint, the black mold growing around it and the haphazard white paint that was slapped everywhere in the bathroom in an attempt to brighten up the room, made it feel icky. Also, there were gobs of human hair at the base of the bidet. Paint was peeling from the bathroom wall along with tiles missing around the baseboard. There was a large storage cabinet in the room which had a door that would not stay shut. I had to prop up a garbage can in front of the door to keep it from always swinging open. There was nothing about my room that allowed me to recharge after spending a day in beautiful Chamonix. It was a depressing room to come home to. The price was right, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Hotellet ligger perfekt, super centralt. Det er slidt og gammelt, men det var helt ok for os. Vigtigst var det venlige personale, super beliggenhed, stue hvor man kunne hygge, skirum og rent.

We had room 31 in the back building. The room was a good size and there was a nice view from the window with a little breeze and the bed was big and that's where the good ends. The room stunk, it smelled musty and of timber rot. The room was stinking hot without air conditioning or even a fan. I complained to Amy at reception who spoke to her Manager about it. The hotel was full and we were staying 3 nights so the Manager went to the room to investigate and offered to do a deep clean on the room and the cleaner gave us some deodoriser to try to mask the smell. Eventually she offered me another room which had no ventilation and a small window up high that did not offer any breeze, we decided to stay in the stinking room. They eventually found a fan for us from a departing guest which was some relief. The bathroom has no window or ventilation, water leaked through the ceiling and dropped on you, the bidet leaked, the sink got blocked, which the cleaner unblocked. It was like staying at Faulty Towers. The Manager handled the scenario very badly, offered no compensation of a partial refund or a breakfast. We found out on departure the hotel is being pulled down later in the year after 7 years of waiting for local approval, they new the condition of the room but still took the booking and I dont think any maintenance has been done on any rooms in that time. I must say Amy at reception is fantastic and Flo the room attendant is lovely and helpful.

Got the room in the annex / back building, right beside the lift. The rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear the lift operating, neighbours closing/slamming doors, and the floor above me creaks when the neighbours above are walking about. But otherwise a very lovely stay.

Very dated. My room looks it hasn’t been updated since the sixties. Very load at night with numerous bars outside open late. Reception staff are excellent and a very good breakfast.

Room was a nice size but probably should have been updated 20 years ago. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The shower head was broken. We let the front desk know about it st 8 am. We were told it would be fixed while we were out for the day. When we came back at 7:30 pm the shower head had not been fixed. My husband got tools from the front desk to try to fix it himself so we could use it, but he could not fix it. The only good thing we have to say about this hotel is the location was great, and very friendly staff. We are not people who stay at expensive hotels so we are not terribly picky but this one was really a bad experience. You would be better off spending a little more money and going someplace else. I know we will never stay there again.

The lady at reception on our last day was amazing. We were at the front of the hotel so very noisy late into the night, the view was amazing though! If you love oldie world creaky floors, this will fit the bill.

We had room 31 in the back building. The room was a good size and there was a nice view from the window with a little breeze and the bed was big and that's where the good ends. The room stunk, it smelled musty and of timber rot. The room was stinking hot without air conditioning or even a fan. I complained to Amy at reception who spoke to her Manager about it. The hotel was full and we were staying 3 nights so the Manager went to the room to investigate and offered to do a deep clean on the room and the cleaner gave us some deodoriser to try to mask the smell. Eventually she offered me another room which had no ventilation and a small window up high that did not offer any breeze, we decided to stay in the stinking room. They eventually found a fan for us from a departing guest which was some relief. The bathroom has no window or ventilation, water leaked through the ceiling and dropped on you, the bidet leaked, the sink got blocked, which the cleaner unblocked. It was like staying at Faulty Towers. The Manager handled the scenario very badly, offered no compensation of a partial refund or a breakfast. We found out on departure the hotel is being pulled down later in the year after 7 years of waiting for local approval, they new the condition of the room but still took the booking and I dont think any maintenance has been done on any rooms in that time. I must say Amy at reception is fantastic and Flo the room attendant is lovely and helpful.

First the positives. The hotel location in the center of Chamonix is fantastic. All of the staff I interacted with were helpful, pleasant and charming. Top-notch! Rooms were also affordable. Unfortunately, the hotel has somewhat of a feeling of being a flophouse. It is old and rundown and not well maintained. My room had carpet and curtains that look to be from 1974. The furniture was very basic but extremely beat up. Coffee stains abound on the nightstand and TV table. The floor was quite saggy and creaks as you walk across it which means you can also hear every footstep in the room above you. The bathroom and my room as a whole have had few updates since perhaps the World War II era. Even the old built-in cast-iron tub is still there. While, it might be viewed as somewhat quaint, the black mold growing around it and the haphazard white paint that was slapped everywhere in the bathroom in an attempt to brighten up the room, made it feel icky. Also, there were gobs of human hair at the base of the bidet. Paint was peeling from the bathroom wall along with tiles missing around the baseboard. There was a large storage cabinet in the room which had a door that would not stay shut. I had to prop up a garbage can in front of the door to keep it from always swinging open. The only thing that annoyed me was that even though I had completed their pre arrival survey and told them we would be arriving by noon after a red eye transatlantic flight, we could not check in until 3pm - they actually told us our room was one of the last to be cleaned and ready.

The hotel is a little tired decor-wise but roomy, clean, and in an unbeatable location, so it didn’t bother us. Easy walk to the bus station and to all attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a wonderful location on a main street in Chamonix. It is convenient to everything. You couldn't have a lovelier view. I could see Mont Blanc from my balcony window.

Comme depuis des années je séjourne dans cet hôtel du centre de Chamonix et c'est toujours un plaisir d'y revenir. La restauration et le choix se sont nettement amélioré par rapport à Janvier

Reservation included breakfast but they charged us for breakfast anyway (told us after we ate, of course). Room was very stuffy, bathroom had dried feces all over the toilet. Would not recommend.

The hotel is in a perfect location for everything. It was just a short walk to rent skis, get the bus to the slopes, enjoy aprês ski, and choose from the many restaurants in Chamonix. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the stay very pleasant. They had a coffee machine and water filter available at all times. They gave us a souvenir water bottle to refill instead of using plastic bottles, which I especially appreciated. The rooms and facilities are very clean. My only disappointment was the breakfast service. It ran from 7:00-10:30 and often ran out of key items before 8:30 - such as the delicious croissants and scrambled eggs. Better supply management would be appreciated by this not-so-early riser.
