Hotel Gounod Fully Renovated

Lovely rooms, staff, sister hotel next door has gym and pool. Thanks for a wonderful visit

The Hotel Gounod is in the perfect location to stay in Nice. The beach is a few short blocks away, the train station is also a few blocks away in the opposite direction. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Old Nice is close as well. This hotel is beautiful. It is a small hotel (like a boutique hotel) but the guest rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely appointed. Loved that we could use the pool/jacuzzi and rooftop bar at the hotel next door as well!

The service was very good and the staffs were very nice. It was so good that we could use the rooftop pool and jacuzzi of Splendid Hotel just near by. However, seems there was no air-conditioner although I am not sure if it was due to we didn't know how to operate it or not. The big problem was located in bathroom. We have big expectations to take a bath in such a big and beautiful bathroom. However, seems the bathtub stopper was damaged so all the water was flow away. We could only take shower finally but the water which injected out of the tub would flow to the direction of the door of bathroom and then to the bed room. We couldn't enjoy either the bath and the shower time.

Very nice hotel. Their sister hotel next door offered a great rooftop bar. Easy walk to train station and also to the sea and Old Town.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and the AC worked well. The advertised fitness center was not onsite but at a sister property just a few steps down. It wasn’t as expected but walking on the Promenade Des Anglais was great exercise.

Stylish Art Deco interiors, very close to the beach. This hotel does not have a pool or a bar, but guests may use the rooftop pool and bar of the Hotel Splendid next door, which has wonderful panoramic views of the city and the hills behind it.

We stayed here after a month long safari to Africa. Wonderful location 500M to beach and train station. Simple clean rooms recently renovated. Julianna checked us in and was friendly and helpful. We used facilities at the splendid hotel next door. Highly recommend

Så fint hotell! Snygg design och väldigt fräscht och rent. Trevlig personal! Ett bra läge på en ganska lugn gata, det går att promenera till det mesta. Bra att kunna nyttja systerhotellet bredvid som har både tak-pool/solbäddar och en fantastisk utsikt med lounge-platser.

The Hotel is very nice on a quiet street, very clean and everything looks like new, rooms and bathrooms are good size and well decorated. Front desk staff are very nice and polite. The only issue us the noise in the hallways mostly during the cleaning hours.

Pænt værelse, hotellets beliggenhed god og folkene i receptionen yderst hjælpsomme. De første fire dage var rengøring tip-top, men søndag knækkede filmen. En ny room-maid? Opfyldning af badeværelseprodukter, the-breve og sukker m.m. udeblev totalt. Rigtig ærgerlig afslutning på et ellers dejligt og godt ophold. Trækker en del fra i vores optik, så vi kommer nok ikke igen på det hotel.

The place has a lot of potential, it’s okay at max. Beautiful on the surface but many little issues that made the experience less than desirable. We were missing bathe towels for two days in a row, one of those days when requested for them they had none but robes or face towels. Shower door had many issues, the fridge smelled very strong of a truffle odour that made the water taste off. The closet was so dark I had to use my phone flash light. We also had no help with bags upon arrival especially considering the large amount of stairs at the entrance. The bed was also uncomfortable very hard and the pillows flat as a board which made my back hurt. At the end of the day it’s near A train station which is very helpful and it’s aesthetically appealing. But the little details were missed

Ein hervorragendes, frisch renoviertes Hotel in bester Lage. Unser Zimmer war blitzsauber und uns gefiel der Stil der modernen Einrichtung sehr. Die Rezeptionistin war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und interessiert. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Tipp: Ein Parkplatz sollte wegen der begrenzten Verfügbarkeit vorab reserviert werden.

We checked in early and was told our room was ready it was so dirty to the point of disgusting.I complained and it was cleaned but still dust everywhere.Money was taken upon arrival normally a deposit is taken and a bill upon leaning not here money is key.Charged 30 euros a night for my service dog when should be exempt.First night we was woken by a phone call at midnight saying we’d ordered a pizza.Eric the manager is so rude and unprofessional zero customer service skills.Whwn I complained at being woken at midnight said not his problem well actually it is when it’s an internal call.Would not recommend very cold and hostile service and dirty.

Such a nice, elegant hotel. Very understated. Rooms are clean and well-appointed with large bathrooms and a good shower! Reception very helpful and it’s in a good location for walking to the front, but yet far enough away to be quiet.

PROS: The room was really great. It was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and even had a gift for us to celebrate our special occasion. They helped us with our luggage and gave us directions around town which was super helpful. CONS: The bathroom! The bathroom was very spacious but the lighting was so dim! If you are trying to put on makeup or shave its almost impossible. The bathroom was huge but the sinks were so small and there is nowhere to put toiletries, etc. With such a huge bathroom they have space for bigger counters. Also there is only one electric outlet so you have to dry your hair right beside the toilet. (if you have long hair and have to flip it upside down to dry it, you are staring directly at the toilet!). Also the shower is huge but has no door so the water gets all over the floor. The controls for the hand held shower head and the rain spa are on the same temperature gauge but one was much hotter than the other. Also the shower shelves are in the middle of the shower instead of above the taps so we knocked our arms and elbows on these sharp metal shelves numerous times. And finally, there were no recycling bins in the room. The breakfast was subpar to what we have experienced at other French hotels. The selection wasnt very good and when we asked the staff about vegan options they had no idea. Some items were already plated rather than presented on a buffet tray which was strange. The coffee maker was also broken.

I really enjoyed my stay at Gounod Hotel in Nice. The location was perfect — it’s right between the train station and the beach, so it was very convenient for getting around the city. The hotel has recently been renovated, so everything felt clean and fresh. Before my trip, I emailed the hotel with some questions, and their responses were very clear and professional, which gave me a good impression even before arriving. The room itself was very comfortable. I especially liked the large bathtub and the fact that the shower was separate, which made it more convenient. There was also a fridge in the room, which was very useful during my stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nice.

Everything fine except the room was too dark.

Stay was very nice - beautiful, charming hotel and room but I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there was no shower in the bathroom, just a soaking tub with a wand for washing (no partition or curtain to keep the water in the tub if you tried to awkwardly stand in the tub to make it into a shower).

There is nowhere to keep your water, medications, or other items cold. The refrigerators in the room was room temperature. They said it would be repaired and it wasn’t. They offered us their fridge and then another staff disciplined us for using it. It was an okay stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it to friends.

The evening staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel and room designs were great. The breakfast staff were kind, welcoming, and courteous. The food was also delicious. The room was generally clean, and the bathroom was well-designed. The bed was awful and one of the worst I have experienced. The bed was two twin mattresses with no cushion or padding. They were two different firm levels, but both were hard. The bedding itself was thin and appeared worn and old. Sleeping in the room was the worst part of the room. The hotel is in a great area and has quite a bit of charm. I would not recommend the room, but the breakfast was great, and the location is recommended.

Staff was superb. Air conditioning in rooms not very cool. No matress cover, just sheet over very firm mattress. Hotel staff very eager to help. Brought up fan, coffee in room nice.

Beautiful redone boutique hotel . Room was spacious. The staff at the hotel especially Jullianna who went out of her way to help us when I got injured .The entire staff went above and beyond. Breakfast was just ok .

A nice, quiet hotel well located in Nice. A small parking lot beside the hotel is available. There are a few stairs up to the lobby which are difficult to navigate with luggage and there is no staff available to assist. Staff were somewhat distant and unwelcoming.

This property was perfect for us. Situated close to the train, the beach and within a reasonable walk to the area that is pedestrian only filled with restaurants and shops. Also the restaurant right across the street was fabulous! The staff were amazing and very helpful with all our inquires. We found the room super comfortable and clean. In a quiet area. We didn’t partake in the breakfast but our friends did and they said it was very good. I definately recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Gounod for one night in September! It was so pleasant. From the easy check in, clean room, great breakfast in the AM, and its location … we loved it! They even held our bags for us after check out until we were ready to leave Nice. I would definitely recommend!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The breakfast was a highlight✨absolutely delicious, with the chef perfecting omelettes every morning. It truly felt like such a treat to start the day with a meal that good. I needed some clothing pressed for an event, and the front desk recommended a place nearby that had everything done within three hours. The recommendation was spot on, and it worked out perfectly. The front desk service overall was fantastic, and I can’t say enough about how helpful they were. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, with lots of space and character. The only drawback was the small elevator, but the stairs made it easy to get around, so it wasn’t much of an issue. Overall, a wonderful stay with excellent service highly recommend.

The hotel is nicely furnished and designed. The AC was not working properly in our room so Cesar at the front desk upgraded us to a bigger room with functional AC. The breakfast was excellent. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend the Gounod for a visit to Nice.

Ideal location just blocks from both the promenade and main train station. Very walkable neighborhood with Lime and Pony share bikes less than a block away to take advantage of the many bike lanes in this section of Nice. Rooms are in excellent condition and the staff is very helpful. Choice of tourist-friendly or authentic neighborhood restaurants within minutes.

Greate hotel in quite area, location is so convenient, close to Nice ville train station, Promenade and Old Town, make it easily to explore everything. The room was clean,comfortable with large bathroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was Sooo frendly and attentive. I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for 12 nights and would definitely recommend it

Great little find, super location near the train station and the hotel was in fantastic condition. Staff also excellent, finally it was a lovely breakfast spread.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous bedroom, great shower and toiletries and amazing breakfast. Staff both on reception and breakfast room were so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in an ideal spot, a short walk to the tram station, seafront and restaurants.

Great 3night stay however I do not consider this a hotel, it is a B&B. Very limited communal spaces, no bar, no outside space so had to use sister hotel. Breakfast room very small and did not reflect the atmosphere of the rest of the hotel. All the components of breakfast there but not a real French breakfast!!
