Beautiful hotel designed by Saint Bernadette’s nephew. Gorgeous old world design. Very kind, friendly staff. The rooms are clean and well kept with nice details like slippers, a hot water pot, coffe and tea, etc. Literally a 2 or 3 minute walk to St. Joseph’s gate (the main entrance to the cathedral area). My room had a lovely patio overlooking the village, and was so quiet and peaceful. I feel very fortunate to have stayed there.

I did not like the carpet. The room is clean but is smelly. Also I did not like the beddings. I doubled the blanket and still freezing. Temp control does not work properly. They should use comforter instead of those old blankets. Carpet needs to be changed smelly. Location perfect

The staff was incredible. Excellent service from the front desk and restaurant. Beautiful old hotel with modern comfort. Modern bathroom, large bedroom. Very comfortable bed and good amenities. Five minutes walking distance to Lourdes sanctuary. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was in an excellent location. The entry, lobby stairways etc. had the look of a grand old hotel. However the rooms were very dated. The furniture was old, The. bathroom much smaller than expected. There were hardly any room amenities. The room had the feel of a 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel.

The Hotel Moderne exceeded my expectations, and you can’t beat the location! The hotel itself is beautiful and grand, and the room was very large and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed and more. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I had dinner one night at the hotel restaurant, and it was an excellent experience with friendly, attentive service and delicious food. I actually wish I would have had planned to have more of my meals here. The location is very close to the Basilica, grotto, etc. which is so convenient, especially after the late torchlight procession (perfect for solo travelers!). I felt safe walking back with many other pilgrims walking that direction, too. The front desk staff was so helpful for everything I needed, including understanding the schedule of events at the Sanctuary and navigating a shuttle/bus to the local airport. I would highly recommend The Hotel Moderne and hope to visit again next time I visit Lourdes.

We enjoyed our stay. Since it was off season, the friendly staff upgraded our room to a Superior room with a balcony. The only drawback was too much light from the window at night.

Staff was great especially the night auditor who was very kind after my train arrived two hour late from Paris (12:05AM). Not only did I have breakfast, but came back for lunch. Both meals were terrific!!! Front desk called me a taxi because I was having issues getting a ride service car…five star Plus + raining.

Main reason we selected this hotel was its convenient location, near the Saint Joseph gate for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. The staff is professional and friendly, and I should mention Paulo at the reception, as he was very helpful at all times.

The hotel was lovely. I loved the historic architecture. If visiting during the off season,be aware that little to no resturants or cafes are open. Very short walk to the sanctuary of Lourdes. Staff was friendly.

All of the staff were exceptional. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot wait to return. We did not plan to eat in the hotel but after our first excellent dinner from the a la carte menu ended up eating there every night.

The hotel is a bit tired but beautiful. It appears to be the best place to stay in Lourdes. We had all of our meals at the restaurant. The food and service were top notch.

Malgré l’arrivée matinale, tout était prêt pour nous permettre d’accéder à la chambre. Tout le personnel est très professionnel, d’une très grande amabilité, très serviable et cherche toujours à vous arranger. Un seul bémol : nous avons trouvé le buffet petit-déjeuner plutôt moyen pour un hôtel de ce standing. Mais ça ne m’empêchera de revenir à cet hôtel lors de mon prochain séjour à Lourdes. Emplacement parfait, l’hôtel est absolument magnifique, autant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur.
