Very basic room no mini bar or coffee/tea facilities had to get water carafe from bar. Bathroom had shower in bath no shower curtain jacuzzi bath didn’t work. Constant buzzer noise somewhere in corridor. Reception staff were very nice but wouldn’t stay here again

Good stay for the price. Public spaces are newly renovated, bright & charming. My single was a bit pokey & had no view, but was clean & functional. Staff is kind & hotel felt safe as a woman traveling alone. The free still & sparking water was a nice touch. The hotel could elevate itself just by replacing carpeting.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, making the centre of Lyon completely within walking distance. Private and secure parking is available as long as you arrange it beforehand due to limited space. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We look forward to staying in Lyon in future.

This place was absolutely beautiful, very clean and you could just tell it was very well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, easy to walk around, catch a bus, or train. AC worked great, shower pressure and temp were perfect. We spent only one night here at the end of a three week trip and regretted not staying longer, as it was our favorite!

Dune façon globale nous sommes decus des 2 nuits que nous avons passées fin Aout : L'acceuil est cordiale mais manque cruellement de conseils notamment pour le parking qui est gratuit à Lyon en aout sur une grand majorité de la ville dont le parking de l'église à proximité, ou dans le parking de nuit de 19h à 9h à 3€ a 200m, au lieu de ca on vous demande 40€ par nuit. Le petit déjeuner nous a laissé sur notre faim avec un choix limité pour le prix. Attention à la cuisson des œufs brouillés. La chambre dispose d'une literrie confortable mais la propreté de la salle de bain est limite avec quelques moisissures sur les joints et dans l'évier. Enfin la chambre manque d'équipements (pas de cafetière, meme pas une petite bouteille d'eau, il faut descendre à l'accueil pour récupérer une carafe, pas au niveau d'un 4 etoiles pour moi)

la chambre ça allait. la tv est minuscule jai jamais vu une tv aussi petite. par contre la salle d'eau était grande ça c'est un bon point. chambre très très sombre. ca me rappleait mon petit studio a paris lol. petit dej était correct mais cest tous les matins pareil. ils auraient pu varier un peu. pas de pancakes par ex, ni d'oeufs brouillés. le 2eme jour ils ont pas fait ma chambre . pourtant il y a eu 4 grosses heures pour la faire. ils ont prétexté un lanque de personnel... le personnel etait aimable. je sais pas si je reviendrai dans cet établissement

The carpet in the hallways and stairways should have been replaced a long time ago. The ceiling was so low that I could not stand up straight in the shower. This problem is probably limited to the rooms on the 4th floor. If you are a man of average height, I recommend you avoid the 4th floor. The bed was very comfortable and everything else is nice.

Great location and staff! So nice to be able to walk to restaurants within 5 or 10 minutes. The hotel was pretty quiet although I did hear some street noise. Room was small but adequate. Lyon is pricey though.

Amazing location. Lovely property. The riverside view rooms, though, come at a price...noise from the bars below all night. Enjoyed as much of Lyon as we could manage on 2-3 hours of sleep each night. Wont go back...peaceful sleep is important.

The hotel is in the very best location. Right on the river in the middle of Vieux Lyon. A 15 minute walk to all of the main attractions. The beds were comfortable and our river view room was very amble in size, with two sinks in the bathroom. The high ceilings made it feel especially large. The windows were two separate soundproof pieces and there was zero street noise in our room even though we were on the 1st floor.

Service was embarrassing. Writing this as a pretty experienced traveler, my husband and I were shocked at how bad the service was. Rude, condescending, and just honestly seemed to not care about anything we asked for/said. They had no bandaids lol. We couldn’t sit at our own hotel’s restaurant for lunch when we arrived because we had to make a reservation. Mind you, this is a no frills restaurant/cafe. The breakfast was at least decent. Good location. The people who worked at the hotel were the worst part. They look at you as if you’re stupid just for existing/being American. Maybe my husband and I look young but he’s a surgeon and I’m an attorney. Do not treat us like some idiot teenagers.

Second time returning to the Le Phenix our favorite place to stay in old Lyon. The place is charming, clean and conveniently located. The front office staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Clara, in particular, helped us reserve a restaurant and talked to us about her favorite spots in the area. She was a joy to talk to. They stored our luggage after check-out, allowing us to chill in Lyon before our evening train.

The location is very convenient to touring old Lyon. Clara and Mae at the reception desk were superb - i was not feeling well and Mae helped me find a market that sold soup and then heated it up for me in the kitchen. Loved my 2 nights there!

This is a lovely place to stay. It is located in a good place to explore both Vieux Lyon and the newer city by foot. It's easily accessible by public transit. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, and the room was cozy and clean.

Friendly staff, but a bit short on amenities - bring your own body lotion and face soap as none are supplied. The breakfast is protein challenged for those who don't eat pork, and there isn't variety to the cheeses. It presented the same choices everyday for a surprising amount of money, so if you can get by with a continental breakfast there are better choices in the neighborhood. The staff are helpful, and the location is great - I'd definitely recommend a stay there

50 euros for 12h parking is really insane. Very disappointing. The breakfast was so so, for people with allergies there are almost no options (19 euros per person). Also the milk (almond milk) was outdated and we only saw it, after having put it into the decaf, which was not really one, it looked more like water with a bit of coffee (it was almost transparent & this happened 2 days in a row). Also the scrambled eggs were too much cooked. The location is good, but that’s all.

I want to be nice about Le Phenix. The people there are very nice indeed. The pictured room (they use a lot) is a sun room on the first floor. It could do with some refreshments for guests and its a bit cold. There was no restaurant facilities for dinner but there are loads of local restaurants a very short walk away - we had an excellent Indian meal. The breakfast was not good - a huge 'issue' for me is a terrible Franke coffee maker - just have a nice flask of filter coffee would be much better. Some scrambled eggs and small sausage - had to wait for the next round of scrambled eggs. It has a nice relax area in the foyer. It is immaculately clean and the rooms are nice. Again, the people are very nice and obliging. Good location.

The staff was very helpful especially when my Uber did not arrive to take me to the train station. They were able to order a taxi that arrived in minutes so I did not miss my train. The breakfast buffet is very nice with a good selection of items for all tastes.
