It was not made clear that it is impossible to drive to the hotel It is only possible to get within a couple of hundred meters round a complicated one way system. It is then necessary to walk to the hotel to get directions to the public car park to which they direct guests- a real hassle . Not made sufficiently clear - there is a bus station at the front of the hotel so you cannot drive there. Hotel has tired furnished and was allocated a room on the 5th floor - lift only goes to 4th - it says it’s a 4 star hotel but I don’t agree.

Although there was a lot of renovation work being carried out at the hotel, it was clean, the staff helpful, the bedroom and bathroom spacious providing a comfortable bed and lots of hot water in freezing weather.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of our suite - very unusual in Europe. We got a lot of space for our money. There were a few details that needed attending to, such as not quite enough light when the drapes were drawn, and old chairs that were uncomfortable (but there were a couple that were comfortable), but it was possible to block out early morning light, and this is an important feature when you want to sleep in. The bed was huge and comfortable. My husband used the sofa bed in the sitting room, and it did not quite work, but it was comfortable when he put the mattress on the floor! Do not be put off by whatever construction is slowly happening in the foyer, and the resulting peculiar approach to the lift. This looks as if it is temporary. While the Grand may not have on overall luxurious atmosphere as it likely had in its early years, it WAS very good value. We used the train a lot to go up and down the Loire Valley, and the location was excellent for that. The area around the station felt safe, so no need to be put off by the proximity to the station.

Personnel sympathique et accueillant. Par contre l’hôtel a été rénové en 1927 et la moquette dans l’établissement a l’air de dater de ces années là. Séjour agréable juste une nuit pour assister à un concert à proximité de cette hôtel. Très étonné du tarif appliqué pour ce genre d'établissement (4*) moins de 100€ pdj compris. Atmosphère dès années 30. Confort et commodités de très bon standing. Très dépaysant cerise sur le gâteau vous avez une réduction grâce au partenariat hôtel parking indigo de mémoire 10€ par tranche de 24h, alors pourquoi sans privé.

We only stated a few hours as we needed a place to stay until the first train to Paris. It was very convenient to the station. The attendant was very helpful and even opened up the breakfast before officially opening to let us get some coffee. On the whole, my impression was that, while dated, it was quaint. The hotel was quiet and clean. Everything was very acceptable.

Hotel tres bien placé. Mais sejour glacial. Mise a disposition d'un radian pour les 2 nuits suivantes. Mieux mais douche dans une salle de bain immense et dans le froid... Je reste étonné que le client précédent n'est pas signalé ce problème. Aucun dédommagement ne m'a été proposé ni changement de chambre puisque l'hôtel était complet. Pas correct pour un hotel ****. Une petite boite de chocolat ne leur aurait rien coûté.

Cet hotel ne vaut pas 4 etoiles. Le personnel est très gentil et acceuillant. Mais le reste n'est pas à la hauteur. La chambre a une odeur de vieux. Chambre et décoration vieillotte. Sur la moquette pas sûr que l'aspirateur ai été passé. Sous le drap du lit des poils et de cheveux, ca ne fait pas tres propre. La salle de bain quand a elle etait propre.

We love a hotel with some history and charm. It’s a stone’s throw from the train station. After an overnight flight , followed by train travel, the location was a blessing ! We had a warm welcome and we were pleased with an unexpected upgrade for our room. Dining and shopping are close by. The bed was very comfortable. A great value !

We only stated a few hours as we needed a place to stay until the first train to Paris. It was very convenient to the station. The attendant was very helpful and even opened up the breakfast before officially opening to let us get some coffee. On the whole, my impression was that, while dated, it was quaint. The hotel was quiet and clean. Everything was very acceptable.

La chambre était très froide en arrivant et le radiateur à peine tiède, la climatisation en mode chauffage n'était pas suffisante pour réchauffer la pièce. La salle du petit déjeuner était tout aussi froide, aucun personnel à 7h pour le petit déjeuner ! Pas de jus de d'orange, pas de charcuterie pas d'œufs des mini croissants et mini pains au chocolat pas frais, bref décevant pour un hôtel 4 étoiles ! C'était la 2ème fois que je venais dans cet hôtel, la 1ère fois il y a quelques mois était plutôt bien mais là j'ai été très déçu.

Lovely style and frontage of Hotel . Rooms were great and really large bed to stretch out on . All other facilities in room were fine and cool clean. A good size lift to get to other levels. Breakfast was good and had a variety of things on offer as a buffet. Coffee wasn’t the greatest either in the jug or the machine. Very clean and attentive servers. If you park I. The underground Car Park the hotel can give you money off. For those requiring overnight charging for your car there are facilities here too! Lots of places to choose to eat . Will be back to explore Tours in more detail - for us it was a brief stop on the trip home !

The Premium room we stayed in was spacious and cozy, with a high ceiling and excellent ventilation that was a delightful surprise. The WiFi connection was incredibly fast. But the spacious bathroom had a poorly designed layout. There were large empty spaces, but the shower area was very small. There were no hangers in the bathroom for clothes or robes, and there was only one short bar to hang a single bath towel. The breakfast was decent, but it lacked any vegetables.
