Fred Guest House is a simple but comfortable accommodation 7 mins walk from Zurich main train station. It is opposite (<1 min) from Fred Hotel. Also helpful is the Silquai bus terminal for guests taking buses from other European cities or planning to take an excursion as it is 3 mins away. I only stayed for one night but it was good enough. The additional touch was the coffee and hot water dispenser on ground level, as well as sweets at the Fred Hotel reception. You could leave your luggage before and after check in at the hotel building. The guest house operated based on digital keys assigned to your email on mobile phone, however you can request for physical card key as well. It was very convenient and served the purpose for my one night stay. Also wish to commend Richard and Veronica for being super helpful and answering my numerous questions.

My friend and I loved our stay here. The property was very clean, they offered complimentary coffee at every corner on each floor (it was self serve). The bed was super comfy and the location is perfect for travelers. It’s right next the the train station and there’s also a tram stop right across the street so it’s was extremely easy to get around Zürich!

todo excelente, excepto porque no cuenta con estacionamiento propio. Te proponen estaciones tu auto en un lugar alternativo con una tarifa preferencial. Pero el costo de estacionamiento debiera de estar incluido en la tarifa.

the location is best, mins from train station, grocery shop is next to the hotel, make it easy if need some juice or fruits. The room is space, offer free coffee and hot water which is very improtant to me. the breakfast we paid for, I think worth the money.

Hotel muito bem localizado e de fácil acesso aos pontos turísticos de Zurique. Possui uma equipe muito atenciosa e disponibiliza máquinas de cafés e chás em todos os andares. Proximo a ele tem um estacionamento de fácil acesso. Com certeza recomendamos esse hotel para outros viajantes. ;-)

Location! Next to Zurich HB and the tram line. Migros next door as well. I was greeted with a friendly and warm welcome from Mark - the hotel room is small but adequate, coffee is always available, nice touch.

Very basic room. Felt more like a hostel than a hotel, but it was good overall. The only really negative was that there was no coffee or fridge in the room. It was out in the hallway and that too the coffee machine was not working in the hallway. Overall though it was a good and decent place.

This is one of the cleanest hotels that we have ever stayed in. Staff very friendly, breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. We just had to ask for extra pillows as we only had one each.

Very happy with our stay. Hotel staff hardworking and professional. Rooms were tidy and beds were comfortable. Location extremely convenient to main train station. Everything worked in the room-hot water, hair dryer, climate control, internet WiFi and tv remote.

Very clean and well kept. I booked a single small room (not sure how big of a room you can get). The room was fine - it is very small, smaller than a cabin on a cruise ship. Everything in the room was operational and ‘like new’. Air conditioning was wonderful! Great location near the train and bus station.

This hotel is excellent. It’s very centrally located so you can easily walk to District 1 and the Old City. When we stayed here, I didn’t need to call a car or take public transport at all—very walkable. Rooms are spacious and clean with comfy beds and heavy down duvets. Bathrooms have heated towel racks. Staff is friendly.

The people at the reception were cold and borderline rude (typical German/swiss). The room did not look anything like the online pictures when we made our reservation. The bathrooms are tiny, and if you have a 3rd person in your room, they are better off getting their own room as our room had a pull out sofa which was hard and uncomfortable.

Place is conveniently located close to train station. Room very small. Better for one person. No A/C, though a fan helped. Front desk ( didn’t get her name) was so friendly and helpful. A good choice if you just have a night in transit.

Great location! Hotel is right near HB station and walkable to shops and restaurants. Staff was very friendly. There is a Starbucks right next door as well. Our hotel package also came with breakfast which was descent. My only issue was that the rooms were really small. The double bed took much of the space. My husband and I both had a luggage so was difficult to move around the room.

Incredibly close to Zürich HB station and has a tram stop right next to it as well. Insulated well so couldn’t hear anything from the outside. We had a very clean and modern room with lots of natural light. We definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again next time we visit Zürich

Pleasant stay. Location is close to main railroad station "HB" (lots of shopping places) and bus terminal (where all bus tours start from). Room is relatively small, but newly renovated, clean and convenient. Will stay again.

My room was in a separate building from the front desk. It was tricky for me to find - a map at the front desk would have helped me. Nevertheless the accommodation was clean and orderly. A big plus to me was that the hotel is within a block from the Zürich Hauptbahnhof. There are several good restaurants in the are.

The thing we miss the most in the rooms was a lack of wash clothes for the shower there was a bit of confusion of where to find the main office when we arrived at the off-site house as we walked there direct from the train station and we're a bit confused and how to get the keys to the room other than that everything was fine

Pour quelques euros de plus, on aurait pu séjourné en centre ville dans un hôtel avec une réception. Tout est automatisé et on ouvre la porte avec son portable. Tout a bien fonctionné pour nous mais cela génère du stress surtout que ce n'était pas annoncé. Lobby en travaux. On n'a vu personne sauf les ouvriers.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was fantastic, and we couldn’t have had a better location to access the train station, Christmas market, and Landesmuseum. The tran station was steps away as well. Beds were comfortable and blankets were so warm and cozy. Great stay!

I got a free upgrade and the place was definitely great for a nights stay. The staff were very patient and had great recommendations to places to eat.

Perfect for convenience to Zürich HBF—literally a 30 second walk to track 18 and entrance to the station concourse. The neighborhood is fine and requires only a 15 minute walk to the main restaurant and shopping streets in town. The rooms are small and basic, but also new and very clean. Great value for the price, especially because we selected the property for access to the trains.

Near to train station. Convenient to take the train to any other cities for sight seeing. Many restaurants nearby and also have big supermarkets. The breakfast was a let down. Not worth paying for the breakfast.
Near to train station. Convenient to take the train to any other cities for sight seeing. Many restaurants nearby and also have big supermarkets. The breakfast was a let down. Not worth paying for the breakfast.

This economy hotel is great for an overnight or single-night traveler who needs to be near the main station (Hauptbahnhof). It's literally located around the corner (one block) from the train station. The room was clean and the basic furnishings included everything a traveler would typically require. The breakfast in the main hotel (one block away) was very good, with lots of food and drink choices. The hotel is meant to be "self-serve" (keyless check-in and entry using your mobile phone and/or their app), so our only interactions with staff were during breakfast, and they were great. It's comfortable, with a decent self-serve coffee machine in the lobby. Good WiFi. All good!

The staff were very friendly and helpful; every single one. The property is near the centre )10 min walk) and 5 min walk to the train station; lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Delicious breakfast for 15 Euros; well worth it. The only issue was the size of the rooms. They were extremely small (which we knew about) but it worked for us since we were there for one night.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was fantastic, and we couldn’t have had a better location to access the train station, Christmas market, and Landesmuseum. The tran station was steps away as well. Beds were comfortable and blankets were so warm and cozy. Great stay!

This property is very convenient to the Main Train Station as well as the Bus Terminal. This results in quite a bit of pedestrian traffic in the area. We opted for the breakfast which is located at another Fred’s property a very short walk away. The breakfast was not dissimilar to a Hampton Inn and Suites breakfast in the US. No contact with any staff at Fred’s guest house, only on line interface. We know to expect this from reviews, it worked fine but takes getting used to. Accommodations such as the bathroom were small but adequate and we would stay here again under similar circumstances.
